As usual Woody speaks sense. Ease up or their wont be much to moderate!
  2. Next time you want to get the tyre to seat on the rim put plenty of tyre soap on, put the tyre in position on the rim then put a small ratchet strap round the tyre on the centre nobbles. Tighten up a fair bit and inflate without the valve core in. Be ready to slacken the ratchet as soon as the tyre seals on to the rim then inflate till the tyre pops on.
  3. From next year clubs in the UK will have to run trials under the world rules(stop and hop without penalty) or no-stop. What rules will your club be using and will it be a change to any national trials? Will the clubs moving to the new rules be using any timers in the sections? Our club, Sheffield and Hallamshire will be moving to full no stop.
  4. So how did the Evo perform
  5. Why not just fix the problem. Take off the rim tape and clean up the rim. Put plenty of grease on the rim covering all the spoke ends and coat the underside of the new rim tape and replace. Some will recomend using Sikaflex to stick the rim tape on instead. The choice is yours. Beats messing with a tube and your tyre performance will be improved. They are made tubeless for a reason!!
  6. Not if everyone else is wrong
  7. Pity about the poor entry. I think you could do with a different date due to the clash with Man 17 Hipwell trial. Might help a bit.
  8. This observing rule is nothing new. It has been used for a fair few years in a similar format. Most riders and observers were glad to see the back of it when 'stop for a 1' was introduced. Whilst 'stop for a 1' isn't perfect it was a fairly good compromise if observed correctly. Unfortunately the FIM chose to change the rules again and now we look like changing back again to match them. Round my area a lot of clubs run no-stop whilst the rest run 'stop for a 1' mainly observing it correctly. I think most will go full no stop if 'stop for a 1' is not available.
  9. . Trialsnutterman is spot on!!!! Looks like another nail in the coffin. When will they learn?
  10. It wasn't observed exactly to the rule 20 yrs ago. Theres always been a bit of inconsistancy with observing and always will be. In my area virtually all trials are observed to no stop or stop for a 1 properly observed. Seems to be a thing down south to ignore the rules that the ACU clubs are supposed to use. One club in our area always has a very good turnout of youths and they run full no stop. To say which is more skillfull, no stop or hopping, is impossible. Both are skillfull in their own right. For kids it is difficult to learn to ride no stop in their back garden but trick riding can be done there so I think trick riding will be prefered by a lot of young riders. I think both types of trial should continue side by side. Just go to the trials that suit you. Seems that thats already happening with the British championship. Riders don't like the way it is now so entries are slipping to unsustainable levels. Not sure what it is that isn't working, too many hard sections, time limit in the sections too tight or could it be the observing rules For me I think stop for a 1 observed correctly is the best compromise to suit both camps.

Gizza 5 Looking at the size of the storage capacity on that bike couldn't you do a mobile fuel supply service and help keep the SSDT going single handed now the army has given it up.

Must be 10 stalls selling allsorts of trials stuff
  13. Under the seat is a black cylindrical unit with a pair of wires coming out. Check the connections and wires into it as the fan will not work without it. I had the wire to it melt on to the middle box. Sometimes the connector needs crimping up a bit.
  14. The fan is very quiet and can be difficult to see it turning whilst riding. I used to have some markers on a couple of the fan blades (a white sticker cut into 5mm squares) so it easy to glance down and see its running. On a cold day it can be ages before it comes on.

Does anyone know how the new dinner stop arrangement works. It says in the entry paper work that lunch is included. Is it still the burger van? Or are we all off to the local hostelry for a pub lunch

Is it new or used? The radiator shouldn't be filled to the brim. If it is it will throw a bit out. So long as you can see fluid at the bottom of the filler tube its ok.
  19. 27 April 11am. Bracken rocks, Holloway, Matlock. You don't need any paperwork with you. Just turn up and ride. The easy route is suitable for beginners. Best looking on the diary on the front page of trials central for whats on or T&MX news for a list of every event thats on.

  21. In my business if you make a deal at a price you stick with it even if you lose money. I ordered some fertiliser at
  22. Sandy, you have a pm. Good run round today. Very well organised and the route marking was excellent. Needed all of the 7 hours, only had 5 minutes spare at the end. How slippy was that limestone today!!!
  23. The forums are more often than not very slow. I would say its got a lot worse in the last 6 months. The front page isn't too bad but its all a lot slower than other forums I use. Sometimes I leave it a bit and try later.
