  1. Oh man that makes me feel bad, I am always going for the higher bars or the spacers under my fat bars. Of course my front wheel spends most of the time on the ground As far as bar height and rider height I always thought it was strange that the Lampkin bend Renthals are lower than the Fuji bend Renthals. Do renthal do a 'lampkin / Fuji' bend ? where did you get your info on this ? Cheers ..
  2. thanks for the reply Buckie3, where can I get some risers (are they spacers on the top clamp ?) and what sort of money are we talking ? Cheers
  3. A question for the experts among us - Does anyone know what the differences / advantages and disadvantages of the various hights available in bars ? Why would you use high ..... why low ? cheers .......
  4. Not to mention Crawford Carrick-Anderson. Awsome trials, downhill and enduro rider..... started in trials .... still doin trials
  5. Sandyfords sold a huge amount of unsold 05's to Appelyards and I think now that Appelyards have sold the 80 or so new 05's, we will start to see the new models comin through Bought one of the new 05's myself ...... very little difference and a grand cheaper Mitani Clutch, thats the job done
  6. Being road legal puts a very different case forward for being on 'private land' .... look into it .... dont want to go into detail on a public forum ....
  7. Nice ..... I reckon it was planned as part of the show
  8. What sort of numbers could we get on a petition to take to the government, ref loss of land to hold events and areas to practise ? if we dont put this forward then trials will simply become a thing of the past ! I'm busy drafting a letter to my local MP that distinguishes us trials riders from mini moto's (riding streets without helmets, etc), illegal mx'ers, green laners and 4x4's. I really think that those taking action against 'off road users' dont understand trials and therefore tar all with the same brush ! Trials has been around for over 50 years .... mini moto's have been around less than three and we now face extingtion because of this group of people ... WHY ? because we ride bikes off road !. Many landowners are more than happy to let trials riders ride on their land, because most understand our sport but they are frightened off by laws passed by the government preventing 'off road sport'. Its time we gave a BIG message outward regarding the nature of our sport .... I;m looking for support here to put an educated case forward to the governing bodies, who's with me ?
  9. This is getting really bad gent's ..... look at us 'keeping secrets' about our venues. I know it's a must because of the noobes who want us banned...... but we are going on like criminals here ...... it's not chuffing right, why dont we have any say at all !!! .... i'm writing a letter to my MP NOW, sick of it, I WANT ACTION, these tossers wont take away our hobby without a fight. First we need to distinguish ourselves from mini moto's(riding round the streets), mx'ers, green laners, 4x4 ers ... its all out for our classic, non offensive sport and i dont give a monkeys about others that cause us to all get tarred with the same brush. Trials is a gentlemans sport and the government need to understand the difference between us and hooligans. I'm gonna start a new thread on here to get some support on this I, like you, am not happy with the way we are being treated ? .... anyone agree ??
  10. Agreed guy's, no point in advertising and giving the ememy more ammo........ locations should be protected from the so called 'do gooders' who want to bann everyone from the countryside cos a rare butterfly or frog farted within a 1000 mile radius !
  11. I reckon, if you are road registered with tax, insurance MOT (if required), hold a full bike licence, have a reasonable sized plate, a mountain bike horn and digital speedo
  12. Has it ever been any different ? No, this is probably how it has always been historically, with the exception of a government passing laws left right and center both on individiual riders and landowners making it far more challenging to hold organised events or practise now ....... the alternative is ... do nowt then wonder why your local club is no longer hosting events one day because it has had to disband
  13. .After speaking with a few of the club sectaries at local trials it appears it's all the 'old school' boys that are keeping things going ! .... silently they get on with things and we riders turn up for a wonderfully organised event with good sections, observers, someone to sign you in etc etc. however it transpires that (for my local clubs anyway) they could do with more help in terms of setting out sections, flagging, observing, finance, securing land, sending letters to landowners to put a case forward to hold the trial, keeping landowners on side for future events, web sites, press coverage for advertising the event and publishing results in a better way, admin tasks, and general tasks associated with running the trial ......... i recon you should volunteer to your local clubs to see if you can help ..... or at least ask the question - 'is help needed' Lets keep it alive guys ........
  14. I have a slight rust problem on my DC trailer but having said that its over a year old ....... had to have a new wheel hub from new as well, I sent it back to DC and they recon they have not had any other cases like this and blamed me for tampering with the wheel bearing ! ...... have to say though, after the initial problem it has been perfect and pulls behind the car at 80 -90 no probs..... would buy another.

    Suspension

Dabber, i'd get on it for a few weeks first before you think of making any changes, the suspension set up would be a specalist job unless you really know what you are doing, and the suspension on the 4rt as standard is awsome, not something you want to mess up. in terms of the power, that shouldnt be a problem with the proggie throttle body on the repsol.......just plug your laptop in and play ! I ride mine off the shelf with elf clutch oil in it ...... wouldnt change anything P.S. Mrs Dabber sounds mint, does she have any sisters ?
  16. Hopkins..... bet you feel a right one now that you realise you were draining the wrong oil .. ....... it happened to me one sunday morning, rushing around trying to change the oil befor a trial .... felt a right noob when i realised what was going on .. the measurement is dip screwed in .... checked wit sandifords
  17. A few things - a) fair enough....... i'd have left it here ! Great, well done, the sport rely's on good folk like you who take the time and effort to do this ..... thats another topic .. we need more volenteers, i'm sure if people knew clubs were crying out for people to mark out sections and generally help out with flags, admin, finance, press coms, producing and publishing results etc etc, they would step forward ...... many clubs suffering from lack of help are facing closure gents so contact your local club and find out if you can help. c) do those sites give you same day results and sometimes video footage from world events ?, do they contain as much relevant technical information or advise as TC ? do they advertise local events and results ? do they have opinions from the likes of Mike Rapley ? ...... the list goes on and on, this is a quality site, if you cant afford to support it then fair enough but dont compare it to other sites which clearly dont give as much focus or information on trials as this one does......
  18. All the gasser boys use this......does it work ok in the 4rt ?
  19. Good on you Andy, you are becoming much more commercial with this site and so you should ...... you should be able to travel the world sending vids back to the site (as you did last year) without having to worry about your day job .... i say TC should pay you at least a decent wage for your efforts.
  20. Do a search in the forums for - warden law.....
  21. keep see people talking about folk oil changes, and piston slapping....... I have had road bike but never 2 stroke....... If its that simple should not be a worry. How do you sort the chain tennsion out? cheers Take your bike to a local dealer mate .... do not attempt to mess with anything ... best of luck son...
  22. Could never do any of the **** but these boys are awesome .... although illegal .... class , thanks for the link
