    Xispa 25

Got a Xispa 25, oset and razor for my little one's. Buy an Oset for that age.

    Wont Start

buy a flywheel tool.... take off the flywheel and you will see the problem, clean it inside and reassmble. had the same problem
  4. I bought my boy an Oset and my girl a Razor for Xmas this year ........ Oset every time, it's far far far better than the razor.. dont be tempted by the cheaper price. P.S. My little girl now wants a pink Oset ! .... where's me credit card !
  5. Here's a decent tip guy's - I spotted this on ebay and thought I'd give it a go ! ...... pit bike seat for
  6. I think this is all about the characteristics of the power output .... also rev the 4rt hard and it just doesnt sound like it's working as hard as a 2t on full tilt .... but snap the clutch out on the 4rt and you'll be assured it's gona pull as good as most of the 2t's ..... it's gona pull like a chuffing train ... and there's few around that can handle that much yaaahoooo. Mont 315 is a good bike .... but give the 4rt a chance and you'll see why it cost several of million of pounds to develop and perfect the engine (which in my opinion will still be basicaly the same for the next few years at least) viva 4rt P.S. 450 is to heavy, over powered and not relevant to trials .... having said that I do love a run out on the o'l 450 exc
  7. I think its down to personal opinion but i've had a cabby rep, raga rep and the standard bikes also. Notthing puts a smile on my face like the 4rt. They are a bit harder to go certian terrain (wet muddy climbs and general grip in the wet). I ride enduro also and funnly enough, I much prefere a 2t for enduro riding ???? ... it's down to what you like and your style of riding .... there isnt a bad bike if it runs right and is set up properly, they are all fun
  8. I've been from 4rt to 2t back to 4rt then another 2t and now i'm sure the 4rt is the right bike, going back to 4rt ! ..... but then again, sould i stay 2t ? Seriously, in my humble the 4rt out classes any 2t for all round riding experience ... 4rt is king
  9. Used my 4rt to travel to and from work last year (4 miles each way with about 1 mile of green lane), It was great (took up a few sections on route). You will benefit from a long ride seat, the only other downside is roads are heavy on tyre wear..... Do it end enjoy
  10. It will be the timing ... retard the flywheel (you will need the specialist tool to do this).
  11. The rear brake is your footrest in this case, once the bike is up, move your boot forward and rest it lightly on the brake lever.... when needed, press very gentle and the front end will come down quicker than you think, practise practise, practise. Cheers

    Montesa 4rt

Aye, thats right location wise or near enough ... were u from ? The reason I asked about changing both oils is that there is two very common mistakes that can be made 1) mix up of drain plugs (one is longer) and 2) putting the wrong amounts in when being a smart ass doing both at the same time and rushing the job to get to a trial......do this and say hello to a full engine rebuild when the bike stops an hour later .... with a bang .... fairly well positioned to comment on the latter as i've done it ......... what a **** and nearly 400 quid poorer !

    Montesa 4rt

The casings do get hot. Check the oil level to make sure it's ok ... did u change the clutch oil at the same time ?
  14. Normal paint, hammerite ect wont work, it will look a mess after the first time you ride. The proper thing to do is get them annodised by candy wheels or similar. The only other thing that will work and stick is waxol underbody paint (that thick black tar like stuff), after two coats, dry with a hairdryer for about two hours until hard. Then (the next day) sand them down with very fine paper then finish with a coat of clear laquer. The most important part of the job is in preparing the rimms, you need to make sure you have gone around with a degreaser and that the rimms are totally free of any dirt / grease / oil. Then its best to mask each spoke to make the job look right ..... its not easy but does work ! Annodising = approx
  15. Accepted ... but other 'bikes' have known problems also ! .... having said that ... the betas are S*ite
  16. Hi, You will need to figure out if the knock is coming from the top (head) or bottom end of the engine ... have a close listen and you should be able to determine the source in terms of top / bottom end knock. This will lead to your next action (top end is better). P.S. dump the optimax in a bike of that age, it will be doing more harm than good..
  17. This is how its done boys ..... weight over the bars !
  18. LOL ... even if Doug had won the opening two rounds of the indoor, you recon that would not have done Beta sales any good ?
  19. The start Dougie has made on the Beta is disappointing to say the least, I just watched a clip of Doug from around a year and a half ago when he was questioned about Dabbil beating him and he replied 'Is that a pig I see flying over' ! ... How things can change in a very short period of time It's not looking to good for Doug and certainly cant be good for Beta.. Any views on how this will all end ? .. will he get over it and sort his riding on the Beta ... or is this one just too much of a mountain to climb this time. Really disappointing ... perhaps he might be better off on the Beta 4 banger ? On the bright side, it shows what an awesome machine the 4rt really is ... Bou made the swap the other way and went from strength to strength. Let's see how Doug gets on outdoor .... might be a completely different story (finger crossed)
  20. Change both oils and all filters (flush with petrol) .. and ride..... if no noise. . . no problem
  21. Is it just me or is the buzz and updates just not happening on TC now compared to a few years ago ? Just looked for the info on the new 2008 bikes on TC and very little there ... I know there's more ? ... This is by no means a dig at the site or Andy but it's been on my mind for a while now and felt i needed to get it off my chest ..... things have gone slow, but then agiain we were all spoiled when andy done the world tour and posted daily updates, pics and vids ..... all said and done, TC is still the best trials site around. I'd be interested in seeing basic stats for this site - number of visitors / members for over the past few years ... that would give us a real idea of trials in general and if it is in decline and will eventually go or if its steady or on the the up (with the recent craze of cycle trials)........ Andy, could you give us and high level stats on how TC is doing (and therefore how trials is doing) in terms of hits now versus 1, 2 and 3 years ago ?
  22. Who do you reckon sell the most bikes
