  1. I bought a year old evo and that's what the po did.
  2. I'm starting to feel Beta may have the 4t edge. No one has horror story posted, my gripe is the lack of dealers and tech support in the US. On the other hand, I can vouch for the concern that Beta USA has about having a working product and satisfied customer, which I am.
  3. Thanks for the write-up, as I'm in the market for a new bike. I had my heart set on a new Monty but I have nothing against Beta. Probably the main selling point for Montesa (for me) is Honda and their dealer network in the U.S. Beta is a niche brand here. I'd love to see both bikes side by side.

    Beta Evo 300

I had no idea gear lube has the same viscosity as motor oil.

    Beta Evo 300

75w seems a bit thick. A good 10/40w that is wet clutch certified would do just as well.
  6. Flush your motor real good to ensure the bits are out and replace the pump with the Jitsie model for more volume.
  7. Beta! They need money to keep the state unions going, and they do make a reliable product with great support.
  8. Maybe the engine but not the carb, especially if ethanol sits for a time in the bowl. To ensure I never have fuel issues I always use the same blend. 4gl 100LL Avgas mixed with 1gl Sonoco110 leaded race. The only reason to mix race fuel with avgas is; avgas is designed for a constant rpm. Being run in a trials bike straight avgas may be a better choice but I run that blend in my 2t Husky also. The blend is like nectar to the motor and doesn't smell bad on the trail.
  9. Thanks for that perspective. After asking the question, I deducted that there was no answer due to film having limited area to place and arrange the Halides and the amount of light needed to activate. Obviously an digital medium is not restricted in that manner and can use the availible light at any speed to produce a fine image that can be further lightened or darkened electronically. Back in the day I printed murials and remember how hard it was to even focus the image, much less getting color balance, when projected against a wall, I guess thats a thing of the past now.
  10. If that scenario was to occur here in the States, Homeowners insurance would cover the loss. (unless its a rental)
  11. Saw where a company had come out with a 100,000 megapixil digital camera for $10,000. Can that be compared to an asa/iso value?
  12. If the problem flairs up again you could try a Tubliss setup. Since you are in Houston go to cyclegear for tubliss at 100. or less.
  13. I run an Iridium plug and avgas and race mix on a 13 evo. I'm a big proponent of smart carbs, but the stock Kehien has been flawless so I can't justify buying any thing new. Clean the carb real good and run non ethanol fuel.
  14. Maybe they are glazed, that could induce slip. The first thing involved in the fix is inspection of the plates. I would pull the clutch pack to have a look.
  15. If that's the case, then do Dan's clutch fix and see how it goes.
  16. Probably too rich. Lean it out and put in new plug. Depends upon your run up for gear selection.
  17. Jackscycles Maine USA. Talk to Stu. That's what I'd do.
  18. I think your garage has class, the Husqvarna box is an indicator. I like your Board Racer, Whats your nearest velodrome? I have only seen one, Indianapolis.
  19. My 13 Beta has rims that are anodized Black in the center around the spokes, and Silver on the outside of the rim. I presume that it keeps one from scratching thru the Black and looking like crap when changing tires.
  20. Pics from BMW/Husqvarna. Which I presume they were originated by Cagiva/MV Augusta.
