  1. Heres how I would attack that. If I thought the metal screen needed more curvature then remove, clean, and find a rounded surface that I could bend the screen around to make the shape needed. I would clean all the old glue off the plastic, fit my curved screen, and tape off what I dont want the new glue to stick to. Then sand the exposed plastic that I want glue to adhere. Go to hardware store and read the properties of the glues they have. I would assume off the hat that Gorrila glue bonds to both surfaces, but keep in mind if using gorrilo, that it expands. There are other glues too. Go home and position the screens to check that my tape looks good, and lay down the glue sparingly. Lay the screen in place and put a little weight on each one. Dont touch it anymore but maybe pull the tape before the glue sets. Hope that helps, I'm sure you will do a good job.
  2. Yep, they are about to eat a cowpie milkshake. Those older rigs looks mighty heavy. I bet plenty of monkeys have been slingshot out of their chairs with that much mass going over. If chairs were an easy find here in the states, I would be sporting one now.
  3. Forgive me if this seems left field Dan, but if the bike is a keeper then I would just buy a new Lectron metering carb. I haven't had an issue yet with my Kehein, mainly because of the fuel quality that I use, but one day I'll have a 26-28mm Lectron on the Beta. Its as good as injection as far as response and its a set and forget on the jetting and self compensates for altitude. I haven't checked price on the 28 but my 36 was only 300 bucks. There is another company that makes a smart carb, but I think Lectron is the best. Motion Pro cables are a nice touch too. Just throwing it out there as a good fix for any two stroke carb issue.
  4. I've started pieceing together a practice area. 2hrs N of Beebe. These photos doesn't show how cool the section in the woods are. You are welcomed to give it a go.
  5. Thanks Just changed seals in my zokes last weekend on the husky. The manual said to put the same amount in each leg.
  6. To me, your tires represent the quality of your ride and are an integral performance part. I can understand buying what you can afford but for a little more money you would never experience such as the topic of this thread. Michelin, Pirelli, or Dunlop are the only real choices and Dunlop barely makes the grade due to sidewall stiffness, though they may work for you Suzuki since you have a heavier rig.
  7. When you say 'level measurement', do you mean the same amount in each leg?

    Evo Fuel Filter

If the tank is Hydroformed, then you would have this style petcock.

    Evo Fuel Filter

Helpfull is an understatement when talking Beta USA and Jackscycles in Maine. The leaky petcock was the first of a long list of parts replaced under a non-exsisting warranty on a year old competition bike that I bought used. Those two entities have cemented me into a lifetime fan of Beta.

    Evo Fuel Filter

I was impressed with the tank filter on the 13 model. It's about 3in. long. I wasn't so impressed with the leaky petcock.
  11. That's really cool. My wife will turn 50 this year but she would maybe only go for being a monkey. We'll see. It takes a lot of courage to attempt drops like that being a newbie to bikes at 6 months. Better watch out or she will surpass your abilities quick!
  12. Oh man, if I ever upgrade my 300 that is it! You definitely cannot pussy foot a 300. I had a lot of starting gear issues due to the force of the compression vs. the strength of the metal of the gears. My issues started with a fluke, but it proves these bikes are built to the minimum of weight vs. strength.
  13. Tough crowd for sure. So what was the issue? Was it a stupid mistake on your part?
  14. That's a nice kit. Backpack or mounted toolbag? I have searched for places to mount a toolbag on an Evo an its tough.

  16. The fan on my 300 does not run as much as I would expect. My Husky WR is the same . The fan only comes on when run hard.
  17. The magnetic kill switch is definitely the way to go. It should be std; and be as important as 'one on the clutch and one on the brake'.
  18. Beta has the best customer service I have ever experienced.
  19. Made me cringe when I saw that pic. I have replaced all those parts three times. The only remaining stock parts is the actual kick start gear and the clutch plates.
  20. I am really digging the changes made on my rig. Now I have to actually input some throttle for the bike to jump up and say Hello. I pulled my first real jump this weekend. It was probably insignificant to most, and certainly to this bikes former life, but to me a 5 ft.vertical leap is pretty radical. The first attempt I stalled out on take off but the second try was like a slingshot. I was on top of the ledge standing straight up on the back tire like a pro. I was shocked and grinning from ear to ear. I put her in the barn after that move, not wanting to push my luck.
  21. I installed the thinner clutch plate with the tophats turned inward and the 300 is much smoother. It has certainly calmed down and I feel more comfortable giving the gas to climb. It is setting 3 in the clutch mod.

    Engine Paint

The tint is very simular to the gray on screen doors and enclosures. You can get puff cans of that color at Home Depot or Lowes.
  23. Have you considered purchasing a 250 top end? The 300 is a handfull. I had no idea what the power delivery would be like when I bought the 300, and have never had a 2t this large and certainly not a bike weighing in at 147lbs. Besides getting a taste of the 300cc's awesome power delivery, when it first arrived a racing base gasket was in place and the bike was way too radical for a begginer such as myself. I promptly switched out the base gasket to something a bit thicker and the bike calmed down substaintually. Now I am running all new 2014 gear ratios in my 13 model. Besides changing the Primary ratio, the final drive is changed from 42/11 down to 41/10. The bike is more enjoyable to ride now. I skip first gear altogether and putt around in third or fourth and it will still explode with power at the twist of the wrist. Once I become more proficient in the sport, I will probably drop down to the 250 top end.
  24. Well, Supercross is an American Original and the same same could happen in trials with the right idea. I like the thought of no stop hillclimbs.
