    Lets Support Swm

China money has resurrected the SWM name and the company is in an excellent position to build quality Italian bikes aka Cagiva/Husqvarna. Right now they are in the 4t mode in the enduro range but they are posed to get the rights to bmw/husky 2t motors that GG has the rights to now. Those engines are torque machines. With a bit of gear change SWM would have as good of motor as Beta if not better, because of the husky power valve. The rich history of SWM trials heritage and a bit of product demand should encourage the designers at SWM to fab a trials frame. The company is doing the right thing by using the husky factory in Vareese with the husky workers, frame, marzocci/sachs, linked suspension, ect. It's not a stretch to build a trials rig débuting at 300cc's. SWM dealership opportunities in USA will begin for the 2016 model. If they get the 2t motor and build a trials, the world is their oyster.
  2. That's my kind of reading Biff. Glad your Dad saw your folly so soon, water could have got a bearing or two. Haha.
  3. You built a beautiful car. My only hope of owning one is to do the same as you, but your skills show. Mine would too, but in the wrong direction. haha The tabs connecting the car to frame looks like they would wiggle the fastener. Perhaps I cant see whats really going on though. My preference would be an eye/jaw arrangement.
  4. Not at all Steve. It was I showing crass americanism. The humor for me began when I asked my friend why he tucked his pantlegs in his boot on the inside only. Once he told me, I knew he had a good sense of humor or was a very honest man.
  5. I have a neighbor from up yall's way, his family name is Toth. He cruises the backroads looking for sheep with heads stuck in the fence. He said he prefers cowboy boots because of the loose fit. He's a fairly big guy so he's not really worried about them slipping out, but I'll let him in on your clamping technique. Who knows, he may buy a pair of trials boots.

    2014 Evo Airbox

Put a 90 degree fitting about an inch past the petcock. No more kinks.
  7. I think I can, I think I can, I think I can...
  8. Might as well make hay while the sun is shining!
  9. No, I don't have this tire, but I'm thinking of running this on my Husky. I made the mistake of buying a MT43. Pirelli ought to be ashamed. I would have been better served with the 803 Dunlop. On the Beta, Michelin all the way.
  10. MotoZ Mountain Hybrid. Beats a Dunlop and only $98.
  11. Hang in there Dan! Hope you dont get a warm spell soon, you would float out to the Atlantic.
  12. Definitely agree. Who needs a motor when you can progress like this? Very good skill if you run out of petrol in the event. haha.
  13. " Finance Minister" hehehe
  14. Well Mags, you triggered a flashback. Almost to the day last year I received my evo300. There was about three inches of ice on the ground and treacherous on the roads. The freight was a few days late but the bike finally arrived. I put the bars on, filled it with fluid and fired it up. I was careful enough to push it to an open area then hopped on and let out the clutch. Luckily I had the kill lanyard on so I didn't have to go to far to retrieve the thing. It was back to the garage till a thaw. Tomorrow it will be 64.
  15. 927 is like honey to a 2st. I would not use much else. The fumes are almost pleasant unless blasted in the face. I agree that exhaust could be pointed down, but it probably has something to do with forestry regs.

Just stamp the vin# onto the subparts then it don't matter who buys the bike, there will be identifiers on it. You guys need a handle on this.
  17. About three hours east of Springdale in Izard county. I have improved the riding areas since those pics, adding alot more terrain. My latest is a section that runs the base of a cliff about 1000' or so. Plenty of obstacles and you have to stay on path. (rock wall on one side and steep drop on the other) And of course there is the creek. Solid rock bottom with small ledges. Several ins and outs, Some easy and some not so. I'll post more pics soon.
  18. Grand Theft. Felony. May shoot in commission of.
  19. I get the jist of being a top rider and put up or shut up. I was kinda hoping this would trickle down to club so one didn't have to be close to pro to have a competitive score so advancement would not be so intimidating.
  20. Your rig looks great. I've felt the same regarding bar height. I'm 72". I've been told to bend my knees. It's painful but I figure it's part of the routine. I cheat though and stand when I shouldn't sometimes for comfort. From the looks of your bars they are near right being only slightly forward. I would try risers if I were you and still practice knee bend.
  21. I can envision spectacular climbs in this event. Climbs that will pucker your bunghole. If they are landed, there may be need to foot and regain your composure before the next tickler without fivin out.
  22. What could be done is remove the petcock to flush the tank. Then grab a flashlight and a dental mirror and inspect the tank. The inside looks almost polished , so you should be able to veiw it clearly.
  23. Two part marine epoxy is probably the most durable, if you cant anodize. There is a primer process for marine epoxy such as Algrip. If the aluminum part is primed and painted with algrip it will take a beating.
  24. Less is more. A Teenagers mantra. Funny how things go full circle. Keep Trukin!
