  1. Had to look up those terms. Both are quite flattering.

    Rim Band Issue

Try West Marine for Sikoflex products. May also find it at a plastics supply company. (plexiglass/ lexan)
  3. Sorry Gary, I saw your mate in the first pic and thought he was on a montesa.
  4. Thanks for the perspectives. I guess i just miss the good ol days. What I really miss is the whole process, My first camera was a Graphic Reflex Press 4x5. From there I moved to Sinar 4x5 View, and then to a Pentax 6x7. Finally getting into Mamiyas for portrait and group work. I have always loved large and med formats. I also miss labwork. especially working in small darkrooms with pretty girls... (before I was married)
  5. I coated the pistons with food grade ptfe called Superlube. Which is the accepted lubrication for the same application in the marine world.
  6. Just wondering. I made a living with film for 16yrs. I quit with the digital age. Sad. I'm tempted to get into 4x5" and hand process.
  7. Good question, I wouldn't know because I don't have a pair of trials to compare. The sole is pretty soft.
  8. Had a pair of sg10 mx boots that i rarely wear and got to looking at them closely. Turns out that the hard plastic flap that covers the shin is removable. With that removed, it was missing only 1 buckle. i removed the buckle from the flap, lined up and punched holes for the buckle directly into the boot leather and mounted the buckle. i then removed the old metal hinge from under the plastic that could rub against and scratch the bike, and filled that pocket with silicon RTV. Next to come off was the metal toe guards. Voilla! Flexible heavy duty trials boots. This mod is not possible with the sg12 due to the flap being intergrated with the boot. I'll try to post pics when I get back from out of state.

    2016 Evo Announced

Our 2013 models don't look bad either imo.
  10. Depending on which side of the street you live on. haha.
  11. The tophat washers on the clutch pack can be rearrainged to adjust engagement too. Beta offers thinner clutch discs too. This really helped smooth out the power delivery on my 300.
  12. Ouch. However it happened, Learn the lesson and don't let it slow your spirit down. Cheers.
  13. In my case, bent bars meant broken bones. I hope to never 'have to' buy bars again.
  14. I went the opposite direction and put trials bars on my Husky. Leaverage difference is night and day. Granted, the mx bars were cut down, but I have much more control and slower steering and keeps my shoulders in line with the forks.

    Bleeding Brakes

Check your lever adjustment to make sure its not pushing in on the master cylinder piston. Had a simular experience when rebuilding calipers and front master on my Evo. Two full days of pushing fluid through the system produced only a slight bit of pressure at the lever. I finally decided to strip everything down again and when I started to remove the lever from the master, the piston extended a bit more and I saw a bubble come through the resevoir. Boom, full pressure. It was surprising that the new piston stuck in the master but it was probably due to pumping with no pressure.
  16. Motion Alarms in your garage could alert someone too. I'm thinking hooked up to a school bell or an air horn for effect.
  17. Thats bad news. I would clean all the epoxy off, then build up the area with metal epoxy making sure the epoxy fills in the hole completely. After the area has cured, drill and tap. The key is making sure to use good epoxy, clean material, and skuff up the material so the epoxy can adhere.
  18. Not good news, both my beta and husky hop around on zokes. Better start buying seal kits.
  19. This talk really p****s me off. I hope ktm never tries Trials. I have said it before, The Italian/China SWM should consider buying the Italian 2T Cagiva/Husqvarna motor design back from gg, and start a trials team with that motor minus the power valve.
  20. The exhaust route is very interesting, keeping the heat away from riders. Purpose built machine for sure. Wonder what it weighs compared to modern, but at 500cc it probably don't matter.
  21. Oh, and forget gg parts in just a few years.
