  1. Brown hasn't shown himself able to go quick enough in the Scott yet. Wigg was third on observation last, not bad for a first timer, at just over the hour slow his time wasn't bad either.
  2. Yes, you need to start your own topic. You also need to make sure you drink plenty of fluid, tie bottles of water to your fuel cans. Make sure you take enough time to drink it all & don't splutter it all back out about 100 yds down the track.
  3. So a set of rules where the rider can stand & scratch his nuts or have a nervous affliction were he has to adjust his helmet a dozen time before he'll attempt the next bit of the section whilst 50 riders sit bored ****less is the real deal? What the hell is an
  4. I'll have to rephrase it, when they mark the Grouse Moor out, as I'm sat at home working instead. Oh & yes, it is p***ing down.
  5. what's everybody think? Will Dougie stuff 'em? Will Fuji work out how fast is fast for a 5 hour trip? Will Grimbo get his crown back? Will it p*** down whilst we're marking out the Grouse Moor?
  6. If you cut all the wires out of the loom which a trials bike doesn't need there's a bit of weight saving.
  7. It's from the Reeth 3 Day last year, I believe the series starts on the 31st of October.

I'm buggered if I can think of anybody who'd want to see you in a bikini.

  10. gawd, this thread is starting to make me feel very ill.
  11. do you make sure the pillow's against the headboard?
  12. must like being a big fish in a little pond
  13. neither, it's newer than that.
  14. I've had had the good sense to buy the 3 4rt's I've had in used condition, last bike I had new was an 05 model Pro way back in September 2004. You will loose a packet on everything these days unfortunately but to loose that fortune you have actually got to be able to sell the bike, so 4t Sherco owners will be alright just as long as they don't want to change their bikes. BTW I no longer ride a 4 stroke.
  15. If you spent best part of 5 grand on a dog turd I think it'd be worth more after a year. Unfortunately the premature release of this bike onto Joe Public has given it an awful reputation, which I just don't see it getting over.
  16. Sorry Mister Potatohead but you've been deep fried.
  17. I've used the SSDT example but Trials at Club level isn't very different. We've run the Hard 50/50 Easy course thing for the best part of 10 years now. After a slowish start the 50/50 took off & has become the most popular course ridden, the majority of riders have stepped up from the easy route. Now if we were to go FIM at our Club Trials I see a reversal of trends happening. The Hard course gets tougher, it's got to so marks can be taken off those that can stop. We then loose the lads who struggle with it, they either give up & find something else to do on a Sunday (there's a lot of pride at stake with a lot of folk) or they drop down a level. We then get the kick on effect of having to stiffen the next level etc etc. At a point in the 80's our Club had two of the top riders in the country, unwisely some of those who acted as C of C's marked Trials out to take marks off them & not to mark out for the masses, entry levels fell. As you can gather I don't like the FIM rules, a sport that has less than 10 people competing at a World round (I don't count the other two levels, they're purely a support class) has something seriously wrong with it. So isn't time that something was done to make it more competative? Change the rear tyre width, change the tyre profiles, limit the engine capacity, make all the bikes weigh 100kgs or why not just have the simple rule, if you stop it's a 5.
  18. Are you saying that windsurfers are gay?
  19. We get bags made specifically, they'll make any size or shape that you want. We've got them with single shoulder straps as well as the double strap style one in the picture, they mostly have an internal zip pocket in them too. I haven't got the details at hand but can get them if you are interested.
  20. I'll update the preview I've done before at some point...........but not right now.
  21. It's fairly simple really, it's a numbers game. If you give the riders the chance to stop in sections it means they have a chance to correct their errors, so the lad that will loose 10 on a day will have a greater chance of going clean. So then the C of C has to up the ante & make it tougher just to find his winner. All of a sudden the lads who are middle of the road who normally go round for 40 - 60 a day end up loosing 80 -100 a day. They're up there paying their money basically getting a harder time than they want, after all it's a holiday. There's a lot of lads, me included, who go up there to do their best, I don't want to ask for fives, I don't want to carry my bike through 30 sections a day just to say I've been, I want to enjoy my ride round Scotland have a crack at the sections & get my best possible result. So next year some of them don't turn up & despite the fact there's a waiting list at the moment in a few years the riders wanting to put themselves through Scotland gets fewer & fewer. So then the Club is financially stuffed, no more ssdt.
  22. The keeper isn't a problem, nor is the estate he works for, the problem is the National Parks & English Heritage, there's some places you just don't dream of going & this is one of them.
  23. Yes, it's road race year. Ron & Leon Haslam + Leon Camier have all entered, not 100% sure they know what it's all about
