I'm glad you're being responsible & practicing on land that you have permission to use. It would seem that somebody is being very naughty in our area as they've been out practicing on land they shouldn't even think about going on. The use of the highly sensitive land they practice many cost us the Scott & the Three Day but what does that matter? Telling the Keeper the catches them a load of rubbish doen't help much either.
-
Sounds like you're all worn out, you'll be having to employ a toyboy to keep Mrs K happy next.

For the first time since we started allowing a 3 rider charity team to take part there has been no volunteers. Is there no takers out there? All we ask is for you to take it resonably seriously & raise some cash for a charity of your choice. All you have to do is take it in turns to ride a bit of the course, you get to start at the same time as the first rider away so it gives you somthing like 8 1/2 hours to finish, easy
Come on folks, there's still time to apply.

Who's going to be first man or lady to Surrender? Place your bets now.

I'd personally hang, draw & quarter people who practice illegally. It p****s me off that people do just what they fancy & screw the whole job up for everyone else.
-
Aye & you make it up as you go along as well.

Richmond Motor Club are holding a Yorkshire Centre Trial this weekend starting at 10.30am near Low Row in Swaledale. The Trial will be two laps of twenty sections, many of which are based on the Clubman sections used in the Reeth Three Day. The idea is to have one course of straight forward, old fashioned, becks & gullys. There'll be no tight turns & big steps to frighten the lesser lights but there'll be plenty for every level of abiltiy to have a go at. Section plotter AG Brown informs me that most sections will be very grippy following the recent floods & that all the sections have been filled & flattened so that the first rider gets the same chance as the hangers back.
-
OK then, I've got a Mont rear wheel, how do I alter it or what spacers do I use to fit my Gasser?
-
Aye & if you don't move fast enough they'll be using you for grip.

I've two bit's of Scott news:-
1 - Due to a new deadline been offered by the printers that RMC use, we are able to delay the riding numbers ballot until Thursday evening 11th of September. Please note this isn't a ballot to see if you get a ride, all those that have entered prior to today will ride, the ballot is to decide riding numbers only. Please don't ring the secretary up just to see if you've got a ride or what your number will be, all this information will be published in due course.
2 - I've been told today that Fujigas has entered. So if you want to have that one off opportunity of riding in an event alongside two World Trials Champions take your chance now! There are still a few places available, download entry details & or contact the event secretary as per the links above.
-
He sent me an email before starting & said it was hot, dry & dusty. Said he'd rather be in Fort William doing an SSDT. Don't know what it's like in FW at the moment but if it's out like here I bet he wouldn't be up for riding, it's wet enough to test the seals on a ducks a***.
-
Richmond MC have had to cancel the Trial for Saturday afternoon due to the amount of rain that is currently falling & the advanced forecast.
-
If you fancy a good ride round get a Scott entry in!
-
The start is just off the Richmond to Markse road to the West of Richmond, approx 3 miles. For accomodation try to get somewhere in or near Richmond. Part of the Scott experience is the 'night do' which will again be held at Richmond Cricket Club, this is close to the town centre, there's normally a charity auction & then the results are announced in reverse order. The club has no issues with people following the event round on Trail bikes as long as they stick to the roads, infact more Trail bikes & less cars would certainly ease the congestion problems. To be honest the spectator guide from last year will just be about spot on for this year, the main spectator attractions stay the same most of the time & it's the bits in between that get tweeked & altered.
-
The entries for the 2008 Scott Trial are due to close next weekend & there are still some places left for those wanting to ride the toughest one day Trial. Entry details this year were not posted out & have only been available from the Clubs website & for one reason or another this has been poorly publicised. Christine Wallis the event secretary can be contacted by email or by phone on 01748 825844

The standard on the Novice route must have been poor
-
I'm actually stunned by this, I don't know 33 trials riders that can read, never mind write.
-
You're the C of C & made your ruling, stick by it.
-
Tell the pair of them to grow up & settle their differences for starters, after all Trials is just supposed to be a bit of fun. Regardless though, if you find out the correct scores I doubt you can alter the result at this stage.
A brave C of C might scrub the section, amend the results & do a bit of naming & shaming.
-
unless you run it on diesel.
I'd buy the bike direct from Spain if I was you.
-
Looks like you're a long way from doing the 'no hander' balance.
-
I've just spent 2 1/2 years on 4rt's & have gone back to a 250 Gas Gas. I've found the Mont much less forgiving to ride & become tired of it 'pushing' me up sections quicker than I want to go. When I got the line, power etc spot on it was awesome up sections but make the slightest mistake or lean forward & 5 was on the cards, as once stuck it's one big lump to push. Mechanically I've found the Mont to be fairly hardy but when you add in the cost of a bash plate, footrests & hangers, back brake pedal, throttle body & a fat exhaust, all of which I would consider neccessary, it all adds up to a pricey bike. I've had a lot of fun on the Mont, across moors & tracks it's a mad thing to ride but I'm convinced it's not the bike for me in the sections. Now if I enter & I'm lucky enough to get another spin round the SSDT I may rue the day I went back to the more fragile 2 stroke Gasser but I'm certain I'll enjoy riding the sections more on it.
-
I seized a virtually brand new Gasser prior to the SSDT in 2005, p***ing about round the garden & reved it to clear it out, pop she stopped. Had the barrel honed & matched to a new piston. Turned out to be the best Gasser I ever had, had my best result round the SSDT & the bike ran great for the rest of the time I had it.
IF Ishy knows you & says you are over biking, he's right. If you must have a the 300 as the money is right, fit a thick base gasket, a flywheel weight & perhaps a long front pipe. Under no circumstances fit a keihin carb, the stock delorto is all you need.
Have you asked the dealer if he'll swap out the 300 barrel & piston for a 250 one instead? If he needs to shift it the deals up to you.
-
Have you tried kicking their bike into gear whilst they wait in line for the section, usually quite funny.
-
Tough, it was our date long before this & the arena trial came along. I'm biased but our Trial has to be the clubmans weekend of the year.
