A Gas Gas will go round Scotland on a standard tank, the only time I ran out of fuel was when it had been knocked over parked at a section & was laid out upside down. There are several times that I know of that folk have run out because fuel checks have not been in the correct place, 2004 when Tuesday ran the other way round springs to mind.

For some reason I bought one last year, still not sure why, perhaps it's because my first new bike was a 1979 348.
This one is a 1979.

If you need to carry that much spare gas with you in Scotland you've done a Kinnel & you're heading for Skye. One of those little bottles you get with screen wash is usually enough but then I've never carried one, honest.

Munch supplies a good Rock Oil alternative to Elf, once in there's absolutely no need to change it as you're just wasting money.

Just Google, I'm sure you'll find a picture somewhere.

The other aspect of carrying a bike on the back of your vehicle is load that you are placing on the ball. I would say that most vehicles would have the permissible weight on the ball exceeded by carrying a Trials bike let alone an Enduro. Now there'll be a healthy safety allowance on the permitted load but if you have a bump & plod is smarter than average, you may have a problem. I carry a bike on the back of a traditional 4x4 that's up to the job, if I drove a car I'd use a trailer.

I do find it a bit odd that all the importers can run with the fox & then hunt with hounds .
The way things are going there'll be no dealers, small margin in the bikes, no spares to sell. What'll happen when there's no dealers left? Do you want your next bike to arrive in a box & you do the pdi? How do you pass on your second hand bikes? Who wants to buy their second user bikes off Ebay etc with no back up?

the H&D brake pedal is a top notch piece of work & is far better than a standard pedal.
-
uk 09 raga bikes were all sold by August 08, the ones due May, June or whatever will be the 2010 bike. So if a new Raga wanted you'll have to wait a while.

I'll second what Dabster says, if you've entered & haven't had word that your entry hasn't been accepted then you've got a ride. Numbers usually are issued a couple of weeks before the Trial.

you're making far too many posts in the Beta section, you must have an Evo on order, when's it arrive?

My truck doesn't have a door mounted wheel so it's difficult to judge, the bike is a long way from the back door though. On my old Trooper the wheel was door mounted & I used a Kliponoff standard car rack, I used to take the wheel cover off when the bike was on & it was never a problem.
-
I have a Dave Cooper 4x4 rack which to date I've found very good in both finish & use. He also makes arms that mount on the same towbar bracket to carry push bikes, I used these last summer & they worked well.

will one of your 4rt bash plates fit a 315 after it's done Scotland?
-
I used Hebo pegs on Rapter set back hangers. Despite what people think Raptor hangers do bend & what used to happen was the kickstart jammed on the footrest when this happened. First job I used to do when fettling was to give the footrests a good crack with a wooden mallet to bend them forward.
Standard back brake lever is crap, as soon as it bends you have virtually zero back brake. I first up used a sherco one which is a straight fit, downside was it sits slightly under the casing & I alway thought one good crack & it'd be a new casing required. I then went onto one of the billet ones that Marky Boy sells, 100% correct length for set back pegs & 100% good quality, certainly worth the money spent.

It's nowt to do with being old & uncool, it's just you don't speak English as your first language.

Due to weather conditions todays Mintex Trial has had to be called off. The Junior Award Presentation will still go ahead at 3.00pm in the Buck Hotel, Reeth

Looking at the results from the Richmond Trial on Sunday he must be having a problem getting it started & he's had to carry it through the sections.

Has anybody got pictures of the Start Field from this years event? Looking for general shots of the start area + ones of the tent when full of folk on the Friday night. I'm looking for pictures to add to information that I'm currently putting together for the National Parks.
Mail me - james AT richmondmotorclub DOT com or send me a PM.

Once these spokes start snapping the lot eventually go as the remaining ones stretch, so what happens is you're constantly replacing them. Best bet is to have the wheel rebuilt with a full set of spokes.
