Well without an official protest, ie put your money where your mouth is, the Club can do nothing. The scores are put into the computer very quickly, errors are made by both the observers in the scoring books & the results team. Remember the awards presentation was held within 2 hours of the last rider finishing. Everyone does their best but things do leak through that are incorrect but I can say that everything is done in an impartial manner, if it was any other way I for one would not be involved.

Attached are the correct results for the 2009 Mintex Trial. Below are our secretaries words, not mine:- Richmond Motor Club would like to thank everyone for making today possible. To the landowners for their generosity, to the Clerk of the Course and his team for all their hard work, to the observers and marshals, thank you, to the Results team who were amazing ! Richmond Motor Club would especially like to thank all of the riders who undertook today mintex09results.pdf

To be classed as a finisher they needed to do all the sections, if they didn't do all the sections their time is null & void. So the time & / or observation awards were only given to riders who rode all the sections. I'm not quite sure who you're getting at.

Is the frame geometry the same as the previous bikes? IE is it so front end heavy again?

Is this why you look like a wrinkled old prune?
  6. Sorry but I think not oiling an air filter is rubbish.
  7. Grimbo had a day near Richmond & it wasn't particularly well supported. Richmond have a training school for youth only in July. At committee meetings training for adults has been discussed, get in touch with our secretary & something may be happening in the near future for adult beginners.
  8. You come up through the hole beyond the official, doing a left turn & then it's straight up a big ramp directly into the camera. Like most stuff in the Scottish, despite most sections being big & wide, there's usually a line that's at most two tyres wide. If you miss it you're in trouble, hence I'm readjusting myself for attempt #2 up the ramp. Why can't any bugger post summat of me cleaning one, I can you know.
  9. Unfortunately it's the only bike I've done a 'Shirty' on in the first sub, round the corner, half way up the slab & then hey up, a quick 180 & I'm off back down the bloody thing. I've even cleaned that sub on a Gas Gas with the choke on. I'm sure Gizza is now going to post a picture of me lying on the floor in the second sub. Gizza was a big fat monkey on my shoulder last year, I was upside down every time he saw me.

Aye, he's got a pot belly to go with his tits.
  11. an even cheaper mod is to extend the grove in the tube, I think Al the Spanner uses two hacksaw blades taped together to form the correct width.

I'd have thought Thursdays run will have at least 45 road miles. I like the way they're having to do the roughest moor first thing Monday morning, there's nowt like breaking them in gently. I've fought all the way down off that moor going the other way round, so god knows what it'll be like to ride up. I hope no one does a Kinnel & turns left when they get off the ferry
  19. Normally you get done for vat + a service charge,
  20. they must have heard about your riding ability or summat I've taken out a policy with them, not cheap but it saves me being daft & not paying for RTA insurance, how many more of us do that?
  21. The first one started at the top of Rest & Be Thankful & did a loop round Moor House & Telfit. Glen Scholey won. The Club would be grateful if anybody could find & give us any old results as we don't seem to have any records of them. Redvanman is currently in charge of the RMC film archive, he's in process of getting it into a modern format. I'm sure there'll be some Mintex footage in that.
  22. The event will start at Bridge End which is normally petrol check 5 in the Scott. The route will then follow back towards petrol check 6 & then loop back round. There'll be some Scott sections in & some Reeth 3 Day sections too, Orgates a bit too far away. Sadly the likes of Surrender is out of bounds to us on all days bar the one in October. Rules will be 22B, I think the idea is to make things as much like the Scott as possible, short interval starts, route flagging, very open sections & there'll most likely be a petrol check. The whole thing is very much Nathan's baby & all the how are we going to do it stuff hasn't been 100% decided at the moment. We're hoping to be able to do the results on the day & have a Presentation too but again ideas are still being bounced round. There's also plans to provide camping locally for all competitors. I'm sure we'll have it all sussed for the day & come up with our usual good quality event. I remember riding (very badly) in the first Mintex in 1979, it was great fun & something very different. We appear to be having website issues at the moment so I've attached the details now. ENTRY_FORM__Mintex_2009.pdf REGULATIONS_mintex_2009.pdf
  23. http://rieti.kijiji.it/c-Auto-e-moto-Moto-...QAdIdZ119135188 anybody fancy a ride down to Rome? Suppose I could go as I've bugger all else to do at the moment, lack of funds though, sod it.
  24. You really must try our little Club Trial in October, steady ride round & 76 sections to go at, what more can you want?
