  1. Same as last year. We've been talking about doing a reverse Scott for a few years but for one reason or another it hasn't happened, a lot of places don't run very well in the other direction including the traffic. I think next year should be different.
  2. I like the 'Persistent and extensive hill fog'
  3. Give 'em the ability to correct their mistakes by allowing stopping & the ability of a straight forward section to take marks will reduce. & no I don't think that the simple changing of the rules from stop allowed to stop not allowed will significantly change the wr's & encourage a resurgence. But a bit of imagination by the powers that be & implementation of other rule changes who knows?

    Ossa

    our survey says 'na-nah'
  5. This isn't section, it's just part of the course. They go up the ghyll in the morning before the first petrol check & then come back down it again after the last petrol check.
  6. Braithwaites Ghyll today, it's approx 3/4's of a mile of green & slippery beck & there's two big waterfalls which the water keeps washing away, we usually have them to alter each year but every now & then it's a total rebuild. They sorted out the bottom waterfall a few weeks back, it was just a refurb job, the top waterfall was a complete rebuild. Captain Bruce & the waterfall before we started PB, AG, Syd & Nige massage the big beast into position Time admire our handiwork
  7. Top left on picture number 2? That's a name that we discussed. Another two guesses are Mark Doughty on the left at the bottom with Alan Maynard in front of him.
  8. After my phone a friend & a totally wasted day To the right of PA is Goober aka David Shields, based on his current looks, fags n booze ain't good for you We then think the next one is John Huck, next to him Alan Williams. We then think the one on the right hand end of the front row is Stephen Reynolds.
  9. What a bargain! 99000 yen is
  10. The second picture is in the Kings Head at Richmond. The lady at the back is June Clement. Back row second from the left is Nigel Mackensie, on his right is Phil Alderson. I've a few guesses for some of the others but I need to phone a friend.
  11. There's loads of Dutch Army vehicles knocking about round at the moment, didn't realise they were here to catch bad lads from Bishop, can we send our plods back to Dutch land & we keep their squadies? http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/news/4670...k_Dutch_troops/
  12. One sunny day at Blind Ghyll, we were thinking of having a look up there in the 3 Day. I think we could do with a Bigfoot clip taken at last years Scott, the flying Scorpa chased by it's rider would be a good one
  13. Think Coire Dubh, it's probably the only gully of it's kind in the SSDT where you go bottom to top & there's no way out but up, I may be wrong but I can't think of another. Scott Trial has the following which match or are worse than Coire Dubh, you go up them or you go no further:- Cold Knuckles Thrin Ghyll Braithwaites Ghyll Roan hush Cringly Bottom Grey Beards Blind Ghyll, I'm want to watch him get it out of here Gorton By Pass Black Hills Little Punchard Ghyll Fagger Ghyll Slea Ghyll Cold knuckles, again but an extra tough side gully Rotten Wood
  14. I've also forgot to mention that we've outlawed ship to shore radio use this year, it's not in the spirit of things.
  15. Speaking to AG on the phone tonight, he thinks he'd get further on his diesel Arctic Cat than Dabster would get
  16. Front page article coming soon. scottentry_2009.pdf
  17. Well I'm fairly certain that if we set you off first & him off last he'd come off the Grouse Moor before you did.
  18. We had a request from Wayne Braybrook earlier this year to ride an Enduro round the Scott course. After David Knight competed on trials bike a couple of years ago Wayne said that it was something people often asked him if the Scott was possible on an Enduro. Approval for Wayne to ride was given by the Scott Committee but for one reason or another Wayne has decided not to ride an Enduro in this years event. A couple of weeks back Paul Bolton got in touch with a similar request. Paul has been a regular Scott competitor who has 5 Scott Spoons, you get these for being in the first 26 in the awards. So the Committee has allowed him to ride with certain provisions:- The bike will have Trials tyres & comply with the noise meter. He's riding on a non award basis. He raises a considerable sum of money for charity. He will also be under instruction to 'mind out' for event competitors & will do his best not to hinder their progress. As well as being the first person to ride the Scott on an Enduro Paul is looking to raise money for a charity of his choice, the Northwest Air Ambulance. To sponsor Paul please go to http://www.justgiving.com/PaulBoltonScottTrialChallenge/ Allowing Paul to ride the Scott on an Enduro may be a one time only deal, it's not RMC's wishes to turn the Scott into a different type of event & any non approved entries for future Scott Trials will be declined.

    4rt Poorly Sick

You've got to remember that since RMC took over the Scott it's been marked out by locals It'd take a smart person to work out a shorter way round than how we mark it.

Only planning on going to the 6th petrol check? Our little jaunt round the Yorkshire dales is actually 86 miles & 76 sections.
  21. I've just been looking at the TMX's from the first two years & the sections look very different from what was done later at Easton Neston, which is how I'd think most of us remember Kickstart. Typical TMX though, 1979 massive spread, 1980 next to nowt.
  22. Nah, the G's for where he's going to leave his gonads when he makes an a*** of a section.
  23. I've had a ride on a TRW bike, it was in the back of this blokes van when it arrived for the days practice.
  24. aye but was it rite chaaape to ride?
  25. That's not strictly true, Ishy is a new member at least once a month as the senile old git can never remember his password.
