  1. Aye, the little wheels are spinning, I bet few more elevations make it back in next year, a trip over Annat looms.
  2. Don't seem to go full screen though? I've found the GPS accuracy tends to fall in valleys & in built up areas. I like the stats, 5300 feet of elevation gain / loss, that's a mile up & down. Wonder what Thursday looks like.
  3. Can you convert the file into .gpx format? These can be viewed with Google Earth.
  4. Sorry, you are right, all the years merge into one at times, I forgot that Doug didn't turn up last year.
  5. You're wrong, Dougie won the 2008 Scott, Ian Austermuhle was 3rd. Also Dougie could have won this years SSDT but he didn't, if's & but's don't count. You can't back a horse after it's won, the bookies don't pay out. Also the Reeth 3 Day isn't a National, never has been & I doubt it ever will be. I'm not the only one who would cease giving my time & effort into both the 3 Day & the Scott if they were to become anything else other than what they are now. World rounds, like them or loath them, went down a non returnable path many years ago, they'll never be like Traditional Trials.
  6. Another 2009 Gas Gas 300 pro strapped to your back I do know the real answers but I thought this more suitable.
  7. I'd agree with Belldane re the date for your bike, I've one in my garage that was registered in August 1979 & it has a number within 100 of yours. I think the wheels belong to a later bike as I think the first gold rims wouldn't have appeared until 1980/81

    Weather

From what I've been told the weather is going to be the least of their worries.
  9. Road works near Cumbernauld, 40 mph speed limit.

    Ssdt Finds

Baldilocks, if Ishy finds this he'll try selling it back to you. http://www.trialscentral.com/classifieds/d...php?siteid=7635 What's anybody else found whilst out on the moors? I've a pair of pliers & a really nice pump, both were found in the middle of nowhere.
  12. Paw Moffat is away to the But n Ben early to practice his patter for ssdt week. Every morning this week he'll be in the West End car park with Wee Jean's hairbrush & wearing Wee Stevie's ear muffs holding interviews with many unsuspecting tourists. With any luck the local constabulary will only caution him for this behaviour & he'll still be available for PF duties next week.

    Hey Fat Lad !

You wont clean many sections getting a piggy back on Kinnel, daft bugger will ask for a five at the in cards.
  14. Following a recce today here's a sneak preview of a new Scott Trial double sub. After a comfortable double clean C of C Bruce Storr commented 'We'll have to pull a few kickers out to toughen it up'

Yes, Slapshot will get it wrong.
  16. I saw a trade plated Ford Focus being gently run in yesterday, it went by me doing a steady 90.
  17. So why wasn't the in at where they hopped to? I bet the lesser lights lost half their time before they hopped into postition for the first big up.
  18. Why are the in cards at 90 degrees to the first part of the section?
  19. Whilst the time limit has had the effect of making things more dynamic I don't think it's really going to change things. Yes, the sections can be smaller but the good lads will adapt & move on, whilst the ones at the bottom will still struggle in their wake. I don't think sat watching videos from afar quite conveys they physical challenge it all is.
  20. Put a positive spin on it, bit a dust should make things grippier for the first 45 every day.
  21. The cam is different 07 onwards.

    Hey Fat Lad !

Think you'd better be greasing the canoe down, big metal bird'll still be on stop.
  23. You could put 11 / 36 on your Gasser & you still wont keep up with Carlos & his 4rt on the big road stretches, try & your Gasser will go pop very very quickly. But with standard gearing you'll quite happily keep up with him across the moors & down the forest tracks.
  24. You've said before that you think will be in the first class awards so why then are you gearing your bike up like somebody who'll struggle to get round with limited ability & needs to make time up down the road? You go to Scotland to ride 180 sections, ride them how you know best as there's no need to change. The rest just happens, a good enough rider can make any time up across the moors & that's not anything to do with pulling tall gearing. Every Scottish section can be ridden in 1st at 11/42 on a Gasser, no problem. Try going round up there on a 250, they're seriously slow but you can still get them round in time every day.

    Montesa Id

More like fished it out & weighed it in for scrap. Frame's a 348, there are a few different versions of the 348 frame, some have tube 'ears' either side of the mesh stuff, acts as casing protectors. You're correct in saying somebody has cut the exhaust bracket off.
