  3. I actually like this concept, it's sort of how it goes when you're out practicing with your mates, it's all a laugh & you accept their judgement as to how ***** your ride was. Yet let an Observer do this in a Trial & you're mortally offended, funny innit?
  4. If we're going to be hyper critical about observing, how many 5's can be seen on this footage? I picked this film totally at random & I've no idea who shot it. I know he ultimately 5's the section but Dabill has a certain 5 in my book at 40 seconds or so. Similar situations come up throughout the footage. If Trials are easier Observer judgemnet calls become critical but then more people can ride the A route so it's catch 22. All riders can hope for is consistancy from Observers & that's regardless of the rules. Riders simply have to accept what the Observer does. I'm lucky in that the two events that I'm involved with run on ground where it is easy to mark out No Stop Trials, the only Trial that I'm really interested in riding in is the same, I'm not convinced that everywhere has this luxury.
  5. 6 of those aren't in the Yorkshire Centre.
  6. A million & one posts on whether we should stop or not, a topic on our right to land access, tumbleweeds. Wake up folks & stand up for off road use or Trials will be a long time dead.
  7. One of the unsung heroes of Trials & feet up as well, he's usually carring the fat pig. If half the folk that come to Trials put as much effort in as Nige does they'd be doing some work.
  8. & your dressing like this will continue to effect entries in Trials.
  9. http://www.richmondmotorclub.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Drawn-Entries-for-Website3.pdf Come on first timers let me know your real names so that I can poke fun at you when you're knackered.
  10. Also don't forget to take your own bog roll as there's never any in the thunderboxes on the start field. If you have a curry or not, setting foot on the Scott start field is a cracking laxative.
  11. Final instructions go out after the number ballot is done, so don't be worrying if you've heard nowt.
  12. If I recall there wouldn't be much gas left in one or two either, cheers bud
  13. Entry is first come first served, there isn't a ballot for places only riding numbers, so if you've entered already it's very very unlikely that you'll not get a ride. The secretary has been away in the sun since the 3 day but I'm sure that she'll respond to any emails in the near future.
  14. & if you carry on leaving souvenirs you'll not need to pack a bag as Jane will have a fully stocked wardrobe for you.
  15. Google 'Bed and Breakfast near Richmondshire' & get ringing round...........the start field is a bit of windswept bleak place
  16. The only thing you have to beat is the clock, observation score means nothing if you don't finish within 2 1/2 hours of the fastest rider. So your day is about looking after yourself, conserving energy & certainly not racing.
  17. There's 6 or 7 places to watch on Friday, mostly around the Markse area.
  18. Yes, spectating is good on all days although not all day, most of the accessable sections on Saturday & Sunday tend to be in the mornings. A full guide & map is provided in the programme, this will be on sale at the start field.
  19. There'll be regs available at our 3 day trial next weekend & they'll appear on the RMC website at about the same time.

  21. For an 8 year old bike & for the money probably not a bad buy, certainly has more of an original look than some of the sheds you see, a bit of tlc & it could be not too bad. I'm sure somebody will tell me the sticker are all wrong for an 03 bike

    starting

+2 & stop kicking it, stroke it. If it doesn't start, stroke it 2/3 time throttle open then stroke it closed to start. A 2008 bike should quite happily start in gear. I don't buy the kill button one, my last 4rt ran without one for quite a while last year, it made no difference to starting.
  23. Because you know damn well that some will take the p*** & the Observers will be sat out until midnight. Snarl ups are usually the fault of the organisers, ill thought out hazard, un scrubbed hazard etc etc.
  24. Yes folks you heard it here first, Kinnel is back in the saddle.
