The Simpson is a single lap road based trial with two marked routes, hard & easy. It's a good ride out iwith 40 sections Wensleydale & Coverdale. I've not ridden for the last 3 years but as far as I know it's all pretty steady stuff, I've entered this year on the hard route.

A bent rear brake pedal can also cause a problem, you can stand on it with both feet & it still wont work. Best cure for this is to fit a Sherco pedal.

It depends on what you think the level of a novice is, someone who can ride at the level of a Yorkshire Centre Novice would be fine but a Novice in most Centres I doubt it. It's certainly not a steady ride out for an inexperienced rider.
