We rode in 2001 & 2002, so things may have changed. Perhaps Carlas can answer that?
I'd say the easy route was fairly steady, harder than RMC's C route at our National but certainly not as tough as what I put on for the B's last year.
Middle route would be fairly similar to our B route from last year, perhaps a little harder. I remember a mega drop off in one section that a lunatic chasing me with a big knife wouldn't have made me go off. Everything is big , very grippy unless of course it snows. As far as I know you are allowed a bike to mind with, it would be impossible to walk round the route.
Accommodation is difficult to organise, we managed to rent a flat in the village. There's several restaurants in the village but certainly don't expect burger & chips.
On the whole it was a brilliant Trial, professionally run. If it wasn't so near to SSDT time I'd certainly go back.

Sorry folks but that's all! After opening the post on Tuesday morning RMC have over 250 entries for this years Reeth 3 Day.
All those who have entered but who will only make the reserve list will receive a letter within the next few days informing them of their status. RMC will then publish a list of those lucky enough to have obtained a ride. Please do not phone the secretary checking to see if you've got a ride, it'll only slow things down!
Entry full in a nadge over 38 hours.

I've been thinking. We should do the SSDT & get sponsored for charity. Ishy & me could do it on a sections cleaned basis & Kinnel could do it on a sections found basis.
What you think lads?

Reeth 3 Day entry forms are now available to download, be quick as it is sure to fill up fast. Anyone who not previously ridden please remember that this is a fairly tough event with three long days of riding. The hard route is aimed at Centre level standard & the easy route at Green route level for RMC club events.
To save work for the Secretary please supply individual cheques if possible for every entrant.
Everybody please remember this is a ROAD BASED TRIAL, it is up to the every rider to ensure that they are road legal. Alexander Forbes road event insurance will be available from RMC.

What's the chances of an encore during SSDT week?
-
There'll be two routes in some sections but not all, pretty much similar to last year I'd have thought.

Pffft - you can't even get a weather forecast right. My money is safe
You're no better.

This was submitted by a guy who purchased his lovely wife a "Pocket Taser" for their anniversary.
Last weekend I saw something at Larry's Pistol & Pawn Shop that sparked my interest. The occasion was our 22nd anniversary and I was looking for a little something extra for my wife Toni. What I came across was a 100,000-volt, pocket/purse-sized taser. The effects of the taser were suppose to be short lived, with no long-term adverse affect on your assailant, allowing her adequate time to retreat to safety....
WAY TOO COOL!
Long story short, I bought the device and brought it home. I loaded two AAA batteries in the darn thing and pushed the button.
Nothing!
I was disappointed. I learned, however, that if I pushed the button AND pressed it against a metal surface at the same time I'd get the blue arc of electricity darting back and forth between the prongs.
Awesome!!!
Unfortunately, I have yet to explain to Toni what that burn spot is on the face of her microwave.
Okay, so I was home alone with this new toy, thinking to myself that it couldn't be all that bad with only two AAA batteries... right?
There I sat in my recliner, my cat Gracie looking on intently (trusting little soul) while I was reading the directions and thinking that I really needed to try this thing out on a flesh & blood moving target. I must admit I thought about zapping Gracie (for a fraction of a second) and thought better of it. She is such a sweet cat.
But, if I was going to give this thing to my wife to protect herself
against a mugger, I did want some assurance that it would work as advertised.
Am I wrong?
So, there I sat in a pair of shorts and a tank top with my reading
glasses perched delicately on the bridge of my nose, directions in one hand, taser in another. The directions said that a one-second burst would shock and disorient your assailant; a two-second burst was supposed to cause muscle spasms and a major loss of bodily control; a three-second burst would purportedly make your assailant flop on the ground like a fish out of water. Any burst longer than three seconds would be wasting the batteries.
All the while I'm looking at this little device measuring about 5" long, less than 3/4 inch in circumference; pretty cute really and loaded with two itsy, bitsy AAA batteries thinking to myself, "no possible way!"
What happened next is almost beyond description, but I'll do my best.....I'm sitting there alone, Gracie looking on with her head cocked to one side as to say, "don't do it master," reasoning that a one-second burst from such a tiny little ole thing couldn't hurt all that bad....
I decided to give myself a one-second burst just for the heck of it.
I touched the prongs to my naked thigh, pushed the button, and HOLY MOTHER, WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION @!@$$!%!@*!!!
I'm pretty sure Jessie Ventura ran in through the side door, picked me up in the recliner, and then body slammed us both on the carpet, over and over and over again. I vaguely recall waking up on my side in
the fetal position, with tears in my eyes, body soaking wet, both nipples on fire, testicles nowhere to be found, with my left arm tucked under my body in the oddest position, and tingling in my legs. The cat was standing over me making meowing sounds I had never heard before, licking my face, undoubtedly thinking to herself, "do it again, do it again!"
Note: If you ever feel compelled to "mug" yourself with a taser, one note of caution: there is no such thing as a one-second burst when you zap yourself. You will not let go of that thing until it is dislodged from your hand by a violent thrashing about on the floor. A three second burst would be considered conservative.
SON-OF-A-.... that hurt like hell!!! A minute or so later (I can't be sure, as time was a relative thing at that point), I collected my wits (what little I had left), sat up and surveyed the landscape. My bent reading glasses were on the mantle of the fireplace. How did they get up there??? My triceps, right thigh and both nipples were still
twitching. My face felt like it had been shot up with Novocain, and my bottom lip weighed 88 lbs.
I'm still looking for my testicles. I'm offering a significant reward for their safe return.
Still in shock,
Tommy

Should be a fairly steady trial with an easy route which should be OK for, Only doubt is that it's still very wet & sloppy everywhere so sections could dig up a bit.
-
Although, to be fair, he did his best to make up for it last year!
Aye, considering he spent most of the week hammered, not a bad effort to finish by an old bloke. It was like keeping compay with Zebedee for the week, what exactly were them 'happy' pills you were taking?
-
The 3 Day consists of Friday approx 5 hours, Saturday & Sunday approx 7 - 8 hours each. All 3 days are generally off road but the Sat / Sun are certainly rougher than the Friday. There are over 50's ride but they tend to be experienced riders who have been half decent in their youth. Not all sections are dual route & certainly the easy course riders never get to ride round the grassy bank side when there's a real beck to ride up!
An alternative that RMC run is the Blue Bar 2 Day in June, gentle ride round aimed at the older rider & bike. Originally this was just a pre 65 bike event but has been opened up to modern bikes in recent years. I can give you more info on this if you are interested.

Unless Dabster had another bike hidden in his van & Wiggy fettled up his 125 after practicing on Saturday for a laugh, I can 100% guarantee he was on a 125.

Can't believe no one has commented on the ride of Alexz Wigg yesterday. Beating all bar James Dabill, not bad for a 125.

Rmc are now underway with the organisation for this years event which will take place on the 20th 21st & 22nd of July. Since last years event the Club have been granted planning permission from the National Parks for the use of the SSSI land which plays such a big part in the routes used. The marking out gangs will have to be out earlier than normal as GPS routes & Way marked section locations have to be provided to comply with the National Parks requirements, this information has to be provided 2 months in advance.
Obviously in getting the permissions RMC have incurred substantial costs as a professional Planning Consultant was employed by the Club. So this year the entry cost will be increased to
