I've had chance to ride one today, the bike belongs to Bruce Storr AKA Copley Decor who are Sandifords Sponsor. We were out practicing at the venue where we run the Crackpot Trial, so the sections were real. All I can say is WOW. If you're in the que with your money down the wait will be worthwhile. Suspension is fantastic it just glides up things. It takes a bit of getting the hang of but once you learn to leave the clutch alone & just wind it on & off it's great. It sort of feels a bit slow to come in & then is very strong but again I'd say this is part of the learning curve & also the lack of noise it makes. I realy can't see the noise being an issue, when you're on it there's less noise than a 2 stroke. The clutch is probably not how I would like, it seems very on or off almost switch like. I found that when I made an mess of something it was difficult to get out of trouble like I can on my Gasser, again this maybe something that needs practice. The only problem I noticed was the footrests, they seem to be made of crap, first ride up the beck Bruce virtually managed to bend one double, he simply belted it on a rock in passing. While the Gasser isn't up for sale yet I'll be taking a fair bit of notice as whether people can break anything on them. If I'm lucky enough to get a ride round Fort William next May I'd quite like to do it on a Mont.

I've bought one of these bikes & it has no handbook. Can someone tell me how much & what type of oil to put in the gearbox?
  6. liar liar pants on fire
  7. That wise old sage Dabster, would he lie to you?
  8. I would have thought that there are only 1 or 2 production runs of Montesa trials bikes each year. The rest of the time I guess they assemble Honda road bikes etc.

I also was talking to him again at the Kings Head on the night before the Scott whilst I was in the company of HL, Cam, Andy & Kinell. So I'm sure as **** it ain't me.
  11. Sorry to go 'off topic' again Munch, do have you and Dabster got something going on?? fair play dude. your always there to defend the chap reminds me a bit of this daring duo: It's called having a mate, perhaps you don't understand this concept?
  12. You ARE still talking about the 4T Mont...........Nigel?
  13. Her older brother Paul is also profoundly deaf, he's decent on a bike as well.

It's Mal (Mel?) Bird, I think that's what he's called, he seems to pop up at many Trials events & usually observes.
  16. It's not a stream! It's basically a track where rocks have slid off the hillsides over the years & made quite a steady early section. It just shows how much water there was about.
  17. get Andy to post for you
  18. Well............... He can always say his petrol did more of the course than him.
  19. It went for well over a ton, in total the auction raised in excess of
  20. What the hell have you taken it to bits for? Send it back to who you bought it off, it's their problem not yours.

  22. Come on you tight wads make some bids.
  23. As part of the presentation evening a charity auction is held. This will take place at 8pm on Sat 23rd Oct, in the Kings Head Hotel, Richmond. John Sunter has been in charge of ringing round the bike trade & coaxing items to be sold. Club secretary ,Angela Sunter & top UK rider Dan Thorpe became top class scroungers at this years TDN & managed to acquire us extra special items for this years auction. These goodies are absolute one offs so the opportunity should not be missed!

Your sections weren't too bad, I did 1 3 3 3 in them. I also felt I could have cleaned them all, sadly the same couldn't be said for an awful lot of sections. If the daft one's on the bank sides just before Saturday lunch were in the becks instead & the group before the finish were much simpler instead of trick it would be a whole lot fairer for the club lads. & before PB says out I did talk to the C of C when he was observing at the daftest section of the day No 34 Saturday.

Well you'd better have calmed down by next weekend when you are sat on Calver observing. You don't want to miss anybodys number.
