    Y2k Sherco 250

I do know that Gas Gas UK have some new 05 bikes left which I've been told will be a good price. You can contact them from their ad on the front page. For

If you are paying any more than 1000 - 1200 it's too expensive. It's very much a buyers market at the moment if you've got 1500 to spend you should be able to pick up an 03 bike for that money.
  3. More seriously though by putting stronger footrests on your bike would that then make the weak point the mounting brackets on the frame? What do they cost?
  4. Having seen you ride K why bother putting footrests on your bike at all?
  5. If you accept the attitudes of some people all you need is a bike & turn up. Being under age doesn't seem to be a problem either.
  6. All I'll say is that the hill is considerably steeper than it looks & that the parking position is gravity assisted. What you can't see on the picture is to the right of the track there is a shear drop.
  7. For those of us who miss it I see you're on a list of entertainers on the 22nd of October, we can have a 20 second chat just after 9.00am
  8. most likely it's coming out of the spokes
  9. I get it, Honda, Accord. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I cracked that one at least 24 hours before you but some reason it got deleted, must have been the way I spelt Honda.
  10. Tell everyone about your van parking techniques & why you need to buy a friendly farmer a bottle of gin.
  11. Well you could try ebay as older bikes can sell much better than the newer ones. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...me=STRK:MEWA:IT You could also try contacting the under bidders on that one but be warned they could grass you up to ebay!

With a combined age of 150 Ishy & him would make it look like a pensioners tour of the Highlands.

I've booked him a room at the Cruachan just in case he gets a ride, the fact I know his address & licence number will be a big help to ensure he puts an entry in.
  14. In horse racing terms the auctioneer would say 'Bought in' I wonder what this goes for? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...me=STRK:MEWA:IT
  15. Pay attention Perce <{POST_SNAPBACK}> There's nowt like the thrill of the chase when you're dating.

It's like the Scott, if you haven't ridden it you have know idea how difficult it is. First time you ride it's about survival, getting back in within time limit each day is all what it's about. Having only a vague idea where you are all the time & how long / far it is the next group of sections makes it quite stressful, then if you have any sort of bike problems it can be a nightmare. Listen carefully to what any friends who have ridden it tell you & if you do get a ride find a regular rider with a number near you & stick with him.
  17. For those of you who don't look at the front page too much, Regs / Entry form for this years Crackpot Trial on 25-09-2005 which is a round of the Yorkshire Centre Championship. The start will be at Spring End near Gunnerside. We plan to run this years event in the two laps of twenty five sections format as we ran last year & the route will take in variations of sections used on the Sunday of the Three Day Trial. Remember that this a road based event so no under seventeens please. Any one able to offer their services as an Observer should call Andrew on 01748 886160 or James on 01748 821291.
  18. I actually see no problem with 2 routes BUT the 2nd route must be a proper Trial not a spot of flag dancing marked out by someone who has no idea of the capabilties of the 'easy riders' How many Trials are spoiled by the organisers assuming because you don't want to do the tight turn big step section all you can do is ponce round flags on little bank sides? Having said that I'm not sure an 0/40s championship on a easier route would be supported 100% there's a lot of folk with pride problems. The best single lap National that I've ridden this year is without doubt the Jack Wood, 50 real sections with no soft ride throughs. Now that was a duel route event.
  19. The Classic Championship is OK for the 0/40's at my level but I never made it passed Novice level in the Yorkshire Centre. There's a considerable number of riders on the Expert & Inters list that are 40+ (At least a third by my thoughts) http://www.bradfordtrials.btinternet.co.uk...re.htm#gradings It's the same in other Centres, take a look at the Scottish results for instance, http://ssdt.org/2005/results/2005/Sat/SSDT...rday%202005.pdf there's a lot of riders losing a hell of lot less than me on the 0/40s list. Look at the manx results, half the top 20 on the Clubman course are 0/40s, I'm certain a lot of these are capable of doing harder sections but don't due to the severity of the Novogar rounds. (There are several O/40s well up on the hard route too but they don't bother doing Novogars) The Classic rounds no way provide a proper 0/40's championship it's time there was one.
  20. Good job he wasn't on his bike 'cos he'd never get it up a step that high.
  21. Geordie Boy??? CK have you been putting on a false accent whilst on holiday?
  22. I think eaiser routes will help a lot. If I could do them losing say 50 - 70 instead of the 120+ which I'd lose at present a few rounds or the series would be on. Adding an over 40s class is also a great idea, I can think of a lot of 40+ riders about who no longer wish to do the harder National events but if they took to a series like this it would be very competative.
  23. An alternative way to retain the bar level you are used to is make packs to fit under the clamps. The old type 5 bolt rear sprocket is useful for this as the hole centres are correct, you will need longer bolts to fit the clamps on with though.
  24. The standard fat bars that come on the gassers are very flat. I was concerned about tension in my neck / upper back ( I have a permanent neck problem) for SSDT week so I bought a set of Rental clamps (better quality than Hebo) & a pair of braced Renthals. I find I don't lean on the bars as much as they are just that little bit higher, I haven't gone back to the fat bars since. I didn't have too much trouble with my neck SSDT week with only mild pins & needles in my arms on some of the longer moor crossings. Having said that I had to pack up in our 3 Day as I was in agony at times, so whether the bars improve things who knows. Last time I saw his bike Physco had the same set up.
  25. I've been using a Kliponoff for the last 7 years & not had any problems with it, perhaps I don't tighten the pinch bolts as much. Recently though the threads on one of the captive nuts have gone. My next door neighbour has a Dave Cooper rack & I've got say it does look a neater job.
