  1. That’s it, I wanted an exhaust really
  2. Would send it back but second one was wrong one again, still for 2 stroke. 2yr later still waiting for reply Think it’s part of brexit negotiations
  3. Bought a beta side stand, they sent one for 2 stroke instead of 4 stroke (fits on opposite side) quick email and they sent replacement and have never asked for original back.
  4. Just the knee/shin guards. Don’t even notice them
  5. Which carb? Tufnol spacer available from amalcarb.co.uk or eBay. Possibly Villiers services. I used a 26mm one and made a difference to the pick up from idle. If by any chance that is what it’s for I droppped one size on cutaway on slide and that made big difference.
  6. Just to put anyone’s mind at rest, it’s a common comment about people being sued if first aid goes wrong. There has never been a prosecution in this country for anyone giving first aid. Blame culture or not unless you chop someone’s arm off for a splinter then it ain’t going to happen.just ask any qualified first aider or first aid trainer who will confirm this More likely someone may try to complain there is no first aid provision. Seen plenty of bad cuts, broken shoulder, ankle etc but typical trials no shortage of people doing all they can to help.
  7. If you want to buy a ready made sealed pack then look up boost bikes
  8. As above, good advice. Doesn’t matter which club as most events are open so anyone can ride. Just pick club get Acu code some you can join on acu site, then licence. See members section on acu website it’s easy. check trials central and northeast motorcycle trials group on Facebook for dates as consett club have Wednesday night trials with very easy course on suitable for beginners. Next one wed 6 June great way to start . Richmond also have easy trials
  9. If you happy to buy the components and make a pack with all the safety cut out features fir charging great, if not, like me i had to stump out and buy a ready made sealed pack from boost bikes. Not cheap but worth every penny for the extra smiles when it ladts longer
  10. Motor shouldn’t be clunky, possibly bearings going/gone. These can be rebuilt by oset or anyone with the knowledge but it’s tricky due to the strong magnets. The non running seems like controller, we had one pack in due to water inside. You should be able to bypass everything and run motor direct from batteries, if that works it’s controller, do you know anyone who could quickly let you wire theirs in to double check Oset themselves are very helpfull if you email them
  11. betamotor.com then scroll down to your model to download
  12. At least with the alarm you will wake up in time to wave goodbye to the bikes
  13. I bought a yale wireless, came with usual keypad but i bought a remote for it. If you set it via the remote then there is NO delay if it is activated but obviously you can unset it via remote so sticky garage door is no issue. Garage locks that fasten to inside of door then turn a bolt into the wall together with the visible ones which bolt to floor with shielded padlock help. It may just slow someone down but hopefully they will pick a garage without any on. A rechargeable angle grinder will get past anything but you can only try to make it secure.
  14. If you want a slower than stock throttle on beta 4t easiest way is buy an amal 80/200 throttle body. No need to swap or adapt cable simply put the nipple on carb end into the other hole on the cam. 5 min job in total and makes noticeable difference
  15. Went down a tooth to 10 on front and works great for me, but i like it to plonk slowly in first( thats why i like 4T) makes 2nd more useable for me combined with amal 80/200 throttle. Personal taste though
  16. Can’t comment re pvl but i have electrex world and it works perfectly, starts well from cold and works at all revs, picks up from v slow”plonking”
  17. Also check fuel filter, happened to me and eventually realised fuel filter in tank full of crud, enough fuel getting through to ride but wouldn’t rev
  18. I used villiers services, they have a softer trials compound. Worked great and not expensive. Can’t tell you the material name if looking to do it yourself
  19. Depends what you are looking for, trophies or smiles. Also hugely depends on how much work / mods you would do. Most people riding "modern" pre 65 bikes are either using heavily modified frames or newer repro lighter frames, modern fork internals or new old style forks, rear shocks etc. Look at the work listed on a c15 for sale on here and the price! mine is a c15 and the difference between it as a slightly modified proper old bike to now is huge but it is still a big heavy lump. Now turns well, you feel the weight but sometimes that just helps make it hard to knock it offline! Haven't changed gearbox internals so first is as low as i need but result is about 25 mph in top Yes you can lift front wheel, but not the same way as your TY, needs more effort, engine has plenty of power for the stuff you would ride on an old bike. Beauty is it just plonks along and pulls great on hills, feels to have a lot of torque and grip. You can't ride it like a revvy 2 stroke, have to learn how a four stroke engine responds. My clutch is still very heavy but rarely use it in a section, it plonks down to almost dead stop and picks up well so no need to be slipping the clutch. Hard to say how much you would enjoy it, i smile more on mine than on my modern bike but some people have tried it and don't enjoy it. I ride it for fun not results (just as well or i'd be depressed) Think about how much work it needs, how far you want to go to improve it and how much you want to spend because it can become very expensive. In standard form it was never designed to do the things your Mont or TY were
  20. 10/42 works best for me, just slows down a very smooth bike already. But bigger difference is a slower action amal 80/200 throttle. That one works best as it is a straight swap with same cable just putting nipple on throttle end into the other hole i.e the hole next to standard set up on carb end. Standard throttle probably great for some but made huge difference to me
  21. 10/42 works for me and best throttle i found for it is the amal 80/200. Good throttle and simple swap. You will notice two holes for cable on the carb end of the cable. If change to amal simply put the nipple in the opposite hole to standard then the cable fits perfectly. Same action as domino slow action throttle
  22. Relays are very poor for use on trials bike in mud and water, they are open to elements, actual metal contacts exposed. After packing up twice i removed it and sealed it with tape inside old section of inner tube, but periodically check/wd40 inside.
  23. Just checking, do you say a new relay doesnt help, if it doesn't click it's duff they are prone to getting damp inside.. good clean out with wd 40 works if you email oset direct they are very helpful with problems/advice

    Beta 200

The pre 2016 models were based on 125 but the new ones are based on the 250, using 250 crankcases and a flywheel made for the 200. Remember reading that on the beta site.
