  1. Surely they're just as eager to watch out for their dad in the sumo? Evening dear...I've got your Sheffield tape here. Don't suppose I'm going to get the Marseille one when you're done with it
  2. Ahhhh - facts instead of my unfounded ramblings I reckon those lines are even further apart though. What do you reckon? Honda managed to get this comparison by running the 315 on diesel for a bit. How does the 315 compare to other bikes (I really have no idea - we have a shortage of 315's in this area, and I've never ridden one) No 'y' axis on the graph so they don't have to justify it too much. It was noticable anyway that the torque wasn't there.

Thought I'd left you a sitter there. I retired last week Bike looked bloody good mate - I have to admit I didn't like the alloy tank idea you had a while back, but credit where credit's due, the paint job's spot on. P.S. I still don't want one.....yet
  4. Now I can't wait to eat my ....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Early night, never got through a section but enjoyed himself

Not of riding the trial he didn't. Believe me!
  6. Do we really know that the 4 strokes have more torque? One thing that I noticed watching Sheffield vid was Fuji struglling on the incline (60 degree or whatever). As he hopped the bike he managed to get a few revs on, but every time the rear wheel touched it just seemed to sap the power immediately. That seemed to be what happened to the two 4rT's I saw in the Vic Britain, when they jumped out of the river then the back wheels hit and immediately stalled. Noticed that because both bikes did exactly the same one after the other. When Raga went up the 4 big steps (sleepers), I just couldn't imagine the 4 strokes having that blip of power needed precisely when the back wheel clips each step. Unfortunately they didn't get that far so we didn't find out. DO the figures say they've got any torque. Anybody in the know - how does it bear out in reality?
  7. Going by the non electric start machines, about 500gms at a guess. Personally would prefer that bit of weight and engine characteristics that suit me. Hmmm....if that's all - 0.5Kg, then so would I. When you're sticking 120Kg on the pegs, I don't suppose it would make too much of a difference.
  8. I always naturally hop the other way to most people - back wheel to the left, flick turns to the right, but I'm right handed. You are right though it does tend to be the left handed way. I'd feel more comfortable going the other way at grasstrack too...would scare the **** out of the other riders twice a lap though eh My kids a leftie, I've wondered before if I have a bit of leftie in me....oooh er missus. I've noticed that there are a disproportionate number of good leftie squash players. I played in a team about 10 years ago where I noticed all of the other four players were lefties. Not sure if it can cause so much difference in trials where you use both sides fairly equally though.
  9. The battery off her GSXr would add a bit of weight to the 4rT though.
  10. Hi, Actually Canon is one of the worst for low-light autofocus (to lots of Canon user utter annoyance).........I think Sony have a better AF system. Didn't tell me that in December ya Ba***** Seems a lot better than the Sony is, but that could just be the comparison of the two particular cameras. Even taken pictures of the kids somersaulting around indoors at night, and got them in the air with no blur. That Mustek deal sounds good though - where from TW??? We're going to upgrade ours as well soon. Would rather get one that takes compact flash cards though - pinch them out of the Cisco kit then Battery pack or rechargables?
  11. I'm no camera expert, to say the least. Just point and click, so I asked a similar question on here before xmas. I might at least be able to offer the laymans answer, to be ripped apart by the experts Obviously I may have underestimated what you're after if you're up in the leagues of Andy and co. I bought my lad one for xmas after getting some recommendations on here. My own camera is a few year old Sony 2.1MPixel, which at the time cost about
  12. Anyone from South Wales got a computer? Could you spread a few round at local trials please, or just spread the word that they can get them from here. Thanks. P.S. Don't tell Dai Bedford. I want the burger van to myself
  13. We're the same round here. We've got quite a few places to practice, but none that we'd want to publish on the web really. People get vetted so to speak, before we'd let 'em know about the places. It only takes one idiot to lose the ground for everyone else. It's not a tight a*** thing, just protecting our own intersts and those of the land owners. I certainly wouldn't publish the practice grounds on the web. Next thing, we get plastic off-roaders doing donuts round prime grazing land. You've got to get involved with a club and the places will turn up.
  14. First round of the 2005 Welsh Championship coming up soon - 6th February, starting at the Royal Welsh Showground - Builth Wells. Closing date for entries is 3rd February. Regs available from Graham Evans (01686 625010), but he's away for a while before the event, so please feel free to spread the regs around. If you're feeling generous enough, please download the regs below, and print a few copies off for your local lads, or just point them in the direction of TrialsCentral or www.trialspace.co.uk. For those just over the border, remember it's open to allcomers, whether you qualify for championship points or not. ACU_Trials_Regs_Rd1_2005.pdf
  15. Can you get gloves for them? Are you doing Trials Central ones? Can I order a small pair?
  16. Nope, I totally avoided getting almost hit this year. I learned my lesson after almost getting squished in front of 8000 people last year! How come you're not on any of your photo's Andy?
  17. I don't know the ins and outs of the expenses involved, but 3 blokes in a van sharing fuel doesn't seem too expensive to me. At least it's not a Scotland trip for you. I realise for those of you on the IoW there are extra expenses, but I can't see the problem for anyone else? Surely the centre should be able to stretch to the entry fee, even if they have to ask for small contributions off clubs. We can manage to send teams over to the fight club that is the ISDE, but can't manage a few hours up the road to Wales. Poor show.
  18. I might actually be swayed by the IRC. I was minding for a 125 rider on Sunday, and "had to" ride the bike out of the odd section. I was surprised how much grip the IRC had compared to my own X11. I was jumping straight off the 125 and riding my 290 up the same route. I was trying to work out whether the grunt in the engine was losing me grip, but trying everything including tickover to make sure it wasn't. Something in the future may prove it wrong, but I'm going to have a go with an IRC next, just out of interest.
  19. I would have thought that if the Centre can't afford to pay for the riders, it wouldn't be too much for the riders to travel to Wales and stop in a tent on their own budget. Put's them straight in for the good sport award I would have thought, if there was one?? Its not held in mid Winter.
  20. I agree. Society today seems to have a cow every time some little announcement is made. The press do most of it by blowing every damned thing out of proportion. Surely everyone else gets sick of this too???? I really don't care whether Prince bloody Harry wants to dress up as a stormtrooper. Freddie Star did it for years and everybody ****ed themselves at him. If he starts gassing people we should get a bit upset, but for now he's just a silly boy. If Honda see fit to stop production for a while in order to rectify a problem, then good on 'em. Better than wasting time and money making 'em then fixing 'em, they probably just concentrated on another production line for a few days. Seems highly adaptable to me. And if there's something wrong with my new bike (if I had one) I'd be out getting the most of it, before Honda decide to replace it with a shiny new one (and lets face it, I'd feel safer with a Honda warranty than any other).
  21. They're going to have to miniaturise it a bit. This is from Norwich Union: "The "Pay As You Drive"
  22. You could leave it at home that day Sort of joking, but presumably you could. You're only going to be insured when you've got the black box fitted, so it seems that you should be able to leave it at home and forego any insurance? I heard it on the news too. Thing that sprung to mind was the cost of this kind of technology. Surely it's not going to be that cheap? Dunno...
  23. And you tell that to the youth of today............they won't believe you
