  1. How about a couple of classic albums... For the Brits "A Question of Balance" by The Moody Blues (even featuring a scrambles bike on the cover). And for the Yanks "Lives in the Balance" by Jackson Browne.
  2. Sherco kick starts break now and then especially the 290's and as noted when cold. I have done one on an '07 290. There are different ways to kick them. Some stand up on the pegs and others bring the whole body weight down standing on the ground, not just extending the leg. It is best to closely control the kick and concentrate to avoid the kick back that I think causes the breakage. Look at how other riders start them, allowing for weight age skill etc.

    2010 Shock Adj

The Ole rear damper should be adjustable with a small screw in the side body of the damper. Out is less damping and in is more - at least on my older Ole Sherco shock. Scorpas had quite a well designed rear shock layout. I believe the jury is still out on the new Sherco suspension/gas tank design tho' the front end lightness and forks are mentioned favourably in tests.
  4. An '05 Scorpa (I assume a 250) in reasonable condition, in the UK, is I guess worth about

    Xispa A Copy ?

No idea if they are compatible (or anybody offended) but I reckon it's an '05 Sherco clone.

    2003 Sherco 290

Shercos are 5 speeders. Generally the gear boxes shift well by trials standards. Check it has standard sprocket sizes.

    2004 315

I know two good local riders who still swear by their 2T Honda Monts. One won't even try another bike. Had it from new around '03 and it still looks and drives very well. If the suspension is any thing like the 4T it will be a comfortable ride. If you get fed up with it you could always stick the Showa internals in your Sherco front forks for a real treat - like a certain well know rider!
  8. Gassers need more of a knack to start I reckon than other makes. Practice starting with the shed wall to hand, the kickstart and the engine engagement compression have to be positioned just so. Like the video says use your body weight.

    A Sherco Maybe?

Not many rocks to throw it at in Hampshire. Has it done a lot of work? Is it from down south? I have not experienced many 'issues' with my 07. The rear suspension dog bone bearings should be kept nice and greasy. If the silencer gets gunged up normally you swap it for a new one -
  10. Thanks for the video link. Looks like 'mini extreme enduro' or 'drag sprint trials.' Must have been though up by some Eurozone part time brake lever and back mudguard maker who is on the FIM. It looks like real trials as imagined by a part time committee meeting on the back of a packet of pasta who decided that it all needed a bit of speediness. However the riding is quite incredible and so brave. Is this what we are going to get at the UK round in Scotland? One minute enduro racing without the courtesy of a section inspection.

    Sherco 290

The '07 model Sherco is the first year of the black frame bikes with handlebars without a cross member. To start them you can brace your leg and drop your body weight to kick them over.
  12. Horror stories? How about the one where Albert Cabestany wins the FIM World Indoor Trial in Marseilles recently or maybe how Michael Brown Topped the Pops last weekend.
  13. TC advice is always to go and try them all. I'm sure you will find riders willing to let you test ride their bikes. And don't forget the Beta and Montesa while you are at it.

    Albert On El Tele

Here is a link to a Spanish chat show featuring Cabes and his works Sherco recently. The presenter pretends he is an ace rider then introduces Albert at the end. The riding bit comes after about 2 minutes of video. http://www.buenafuente.lasexta.com/seccion..._su_pony/143991 Time to brush up your Spanish!
  15. With the narrower 'tank' ie air filter section and top frame, is the turning circle the same as earlier models or can the bike turn a little more tightly?

    2006 250 Scorpa

    Looks decent in the photos.
  17. Half way through the vid he loses control of the bike and it crashes to the ground seriously far below and he remains on top of the column. Never seen that before - what skill to survive that kind of mishap.
  18. Thanks for the video link. Although that clip was low resolution at least one part gave a clearer idea of the heights of the hazards they have to ride than the official dvd's do. Never saw Cabes waving in a section while riding the four stroke bike! Does the new bike have a tighter steering lock to go with the frame around the steering head?
  19. Welcome Cota 200. Any suggestions for holidays and trials especially in North Eastern Spain would be appreciated. But any suggestions for anywhere in Spain are very welcome. Disfrutar de paseos a su Sherco 3.2. I hope thats right!
  20. Some riders I have seen have fitted twin shocks to quite rare early monoshock bikes which I think is a bit of a shame.

    Sheffield Sherco

Thanks for the comments. I look forward to a demo from MRS. A light front end should compliment riders expert in hopping etc on the back wheel. Flat slide carbs do seem to make the Sherco engine pull smoothly.

    Sheffield Sherco

Ok lousy car park, stupid knock out competition etc, but what was the new Sherco like? I see Cabes came second which judging by last years Spanish indoor series was a pretty fair result and not that unlikely. Did the bike seem any different, was he struggling or did it seem to ride well. Was his second place perhaps having just a bit of luck with the enduro style knockouts or was it a good ride on a fair machine. I ask this because I think the majority of Trials Central commentators disliked the bike when it was presented at the show recently. I wonder if on this showing anyone has altered their opinion. And, congratulations to James Dabill and Gas Gas on a good ride.
  23. NO. The 320 Sherco is not a beginners bike, no matter how many other bikes you may have owned. They are for experts, collectors and fit nutters.
