I have seen them later than 84. I remember a load of 125s being sold fairly cheap at the time just after the 17 yr old law changed where they could only ride a 125 on L plates as opposed to a 250 cc bike. I worked at a motorcycle dealers back in the day and they got a load of 125s from Mitsui. The law change made many 175s etc virtually worthless over night. Didn't hit trials bikes as hard as the road bikes at the time.

Just a painting tip for you, if you decide to paint it. Use zinc phosphate primer as a normal primer is not good enough on plating.
-
Agree 100%. Just get out there and ride. Nobody is there to judge you. There is a trial not far from Chepstow (AMCA) 11 March Henllys or similar name, look at the regs in THAT paper n see. I hope to be there and a few from Hereford.

Hey Grimbo fan have you got a coin slot in the side of your computer ? Even I cant see how that is done???
IOU maybe?

I cancelled subscription through Paypal. Is it easy to set up through Nochex, as I do not have account with them. My subs due in a couple of weeks time.
-
Paypal is free, but it costs Andy a percentage I think. Just delved in to my account and my subs should go out later in the month. I went in to my account through My ebay page and sussed it that way. I dont remember how I set it up last year, but if I managed it any one can. I remember I paid a few weeks after discovering the site. I must say its the best tenners worth in the sport/ hobby Thanks.

odgie I have seen a similar bike, I think it was a cub chassis with a Tina scooter motor in it around Gloucestershire a while back. You have a nice bike there mate.
-
Its been on here before. Never did work out who it was. It was a long time back now
-
Yes I was there, heard about the Ossa, didn't see it though. I think results will be on web soon, ?
-
A Bantam framed Sunbeam, any pics, sounds interesting.
-
Thanks, did you fit all plates inc steel ones and springs.
-
I never did convert the Pinky to twinshock, sold it and am happy with my Scorpa. But waiting at a section on Sunday I spotted a TY 250 mono converted to twinshock, and to help disguise the fact it had older style tank stickers on. The rider has been mentioned here before. And looking at the results he did very well on his "twinshock" .

Has any one on here had a juddering clutch problem on a Seeley? I know a common mod on TLRs is to fit CR80 plates and springs, is it the same on a Seeley? Or is there another mod? Also what is usable for the swingarm main bolt? as I noticed a mates bike had the wrong one in at a trial on sunday. Has any one found an alternative, or had one made? Thanks in advance

So as none of the 4RT riders out there miss this, there is a 4RT personalised reg for sale on eblag. Type in Montesa 4RT you will see it.
-
Did you buy them new, and did they ask you how heavy you are with all your gear on ? Apparently they have nothing on the shelf, it is all made to individual riders weights etc. Also for an extra tenner plus the chancellors cut they can set them up to ride like a mono, they have an MX piston in I think ? If you had them from a mate or got the weight thing wrong they will not work as they should. (Apparently??)

Hi, remove the flywheel and sparkplug, turn the engine over slowly keeping an eye on the crankshaft about 2 inches from the thresde end. You should see a machined cut out where the woodruff key sits in. There may be the remains of an old one in there. When you find it slot the new key in if its not a tight fit put a little bit of grease to help locate it, only a tiny amount . Then with the slot at 12 oclock and the new key in place slide the flywheel on to the crank, before you slide it on look down centre of flywheel to see where the key locates, it will be a long slot. Carefully slide it on to the crank and make sure its located properley and tighte the flywheel up. Thats it your timing should be right as long as nobody has messed with anything else. Good luck
PS. Welcome to T C.

I probably took on 2.5 to 3 litres of water during Wye Valley Classic trial. If I dont drink enough water through the day I get headaches, all to do with dehydration, probably drink 2 litres a day in the better weather at work anyway. Get your self a backpack. IMHO I dont think there was an issue with fumes yesterday as most sections were fairly open and airy.

Can any one tell me about the Mini Majesty frames. Are they all the same or are there differing types, eg early and late like the 250s. I know there are still some available from C Mawlem. I have a TY175 that I may convert. I liked the look of the one in Classic Dirtbike mag, and a nice one was for sale at Malvern last week. Any info appreciated. Thanks in advance.

That last photo is about life size, I can get about 3/4 of the fuel tank on my computer screen.
-
The 2 main after market systems are light weight, but that seems about it. Honda knew what they were doing when they designed the system on the TLR. The replacements dont offer any extra power, they are slightly noisier, but that makes no odds. If you trawl tha Malvern classic thread and find the picss put on there is a TLR with the latest after market system on, a big system that gives more volume and a slight increase in power I believe. Not cheap though. Try Ellastone breakers in TMX they import TLRs to break and may be able to help.

I agree with OTF, a spot of observing does give you a lot of tips in the early stages. And there are trials training days, we don't know where you are? Welcome to T C and the world of trials.

I also had problems a while back. Got shut of it and did a fresh download, fine at the moment. I find its good for most things and a pain for others. It can be a law unto itself. Send a PM to ATOMANT or MALCRA, they seem to know what to do when things go t**s up.
-
Thanks OTF, I have just mailed the lot to another user Daved444, with the nice cub, hope he doesn't double them up on here. Thanks again.
-
Pete, that was my Seeley with the TC sticker on the number board. I met 3 or 4 other Seeley owners on the day and a few TC members.
PS trying to get my head round getting a few pics in one of them photobucket things. If there is someone here who has the know how pm me for a few pics. Anice BSA, Cub, TLR and a loveley Mini Majesty
PPS I have managed to put some pics on to photobucket but thats it, how do I get em on here, you click on the tree icon or something ???? I am a bit useless on the computer, not much call for them on a building site.
-
As Woody pointed out the Falcon site has a chart, and while I was there I looked at TY175 and its 13.4. They build them to suit individual rider eg weight etc.
