  1. Is your Club a member of the ACU? If so log onto thier web site and follow the MSA link There is a contact name and number. This is what we pay the ACU for - assistance!! Lets use them before the 'barrack room lawyers' start making up their own interpretation of the rules ........However, for organisers who are new to this system are urged to liaise through the ACU Office: Debbie Walmsley ACU House Wood Street Rugby Warks CV21 2YX Tel: 01788 566419 Email: dw@acu.org.uk
  2. Just heard that Dougie and World Trials in on Motor TV at 21:00hrs tonight (Sunday)

Good clean fun and everyone leaves with a smile
  4. You are briefed by the CoC before the trial. He/she informs you of the rules and then instructs you that the riders are not allowed to walk the section or have minders in the section as they (the riders) had checked them the day before. Your section . - Large rocks to jump up on Lap 1 day 1.. No problem the rider completes the section without any mishaps. Lap 2 day 1. The section has altered a little and the rider asks if he can have a minder in. You follow the instructions of the CoC and refuse his request. Rider asks for a 5. You mark his card with a 5. Lap 1 Day 2 – The rider again asks for a minder, you again refuse. This time he has a big off. Breaks his leg. Lap 2 day 2 - Rider does not turn up Questions : Does the observer who is actually on site have the right to refuse the request from the rider whatever he has been instructed to do by the CoC. Who is responsible for duty of care. The observer or the CoC? If it goes to court who goes to court, the observer or CoC?
  5. Just seen the team (yes I know it I am slow) why no D Lampkin? Was he asked and he refused? or was he just overlooked because he did not compete in this year’s WTC? A few years ago after Graham Jarvis was brought out of retirement to compete in the UK team for the TDN because we did not have enough skill in the lower ranks so why not DL being called out of WTC retirement/.. DL would still beat 3 of the 4 members selected, plus many of the contenders riding the World Championship. Surly he is still good enough to be selected even just for the experience he has. If the selectors decided he was not good enough why not make him team manager? I wish the 4 lads all the best but I would have liked to have seen the greatest trials rider (DL) have at least some part in the team.

  7. Well Ben I tried to get the subject back onto your comments but it seems that it now has gone to Motorcross,Kick Start and the BBC. Can we get back to the subject please?
  8. If Jesus Christ wants to answer it will be interesting. Will he log on a JC or use his correct name, Time will tell. What riders put comments on here?. I have not noticed many. I have read comments from names that I have never seen riding trials, or on entry form. Ben used his own name, well done Ben. Lets have comments from the riders (sponsored) who rode the event using their actual name. Dare you or are you under orders to keep mum. What about the other 60+ riders lets see your comment on the event. Again use your real name..
  9. Well Ben Congratulations on putting your thoughts in writing on this forum in your own name.. Trouble is there is no other actual comments from any other rider. Well not anyone who is prepared to use their own name. It has created quite a debate with many of the same forum members going off the actual subject, Raising their same arguments which has been going on for years but just put in a slightly different way. The majority of the comments are regarding the observing (good or bad) but the most serious is the accusation of 'altering the sections' without the C o C permission. But lets get back to Ben comments Some questions: 1 Was there a meeting where the riders requested the sections to be altered. If so was it a majority decision to alter 2 If the sections were altered by 'others' without permission has the organising Club , Yorkshire Centre and ACU stewards mentioned this in their reports. These reports go to the ACU for discussion. 3 If 'others' did alter the the sections why did the CoC allow it to continue. Was it discussed with the CoC and Stewards? 4 Were the 'others' going to withdraw riders from the trial if 'others' did not get their own way. 4 Ben, have you put your thoughts in writing to the Governing body in this case the ACU, and the organising club.( I don't mean via this forum) I know I wont get the official answers via this forum but I hope J C posts his personal comments on 'what happened' when he has had time to sort out the relevant comments from this subject.

    Hello

Get yourself upto Wilks and have a go at the Bradford Clubs Autowbars Beginners Trial on 1st April
  11. It is not the riders who are going to see off the sport it is lack of observers This problem is nation wide. At our Club over the years we have tried all sorts. Payment from £5 to £20. All names go into a hat and the first drawn out gets £50. Reduced or free entry if they bring an observer. They work for a couple of weeks then it rains and they sit in the cars. Some say make the sections easier and attract more riders. More riders = more observers. I can tell you stood at a section giving clean after clean or being very lenient because he/or she has only ridden a couple of trials is not my idea of watching/observing trials. OK a couple of times but not every time.As an observer I want to have a bit of a challenge watching and marking a section where the rider has to think a bit. I dont know the answer but making the courses any easier may attract a couple of extra riders but it aint going to attract observers. Yes E Class may be the future of the sport but not the future of observing.
  12. The rules that I have seen and has been discussed, is a 4 for PA? This is documented on the tri folder in the club pack. But if it is OK with the ACU no problem
  13. Not sure what you mean 'rules not far away from tsr22a' In the ACU handbook there are only 2 sets of rules to run under. TSR22a and TSR22b. Nowhere does it state you can amend these rules to suit your-self. Do you have permission from the ACU to amend the Trials Standing Regulations? What happens if there is an accident between a parent and a rider he is assisting in a section. One question may be asked 'what was the parent doing in the section and what rules was you marking under. Answer ; not far away from tsr22a? Claim thrown out. CoC in court
  14. Go to the ticket off at the Stadium. No problem getting tickets

  18. This weekend - 17/7/11 - only 6 riders on the Championship course, 8 on the Expert course and 39 starters on the Clubman (Exp B ) course. . Is it about time the championship was put back on to a National courses? 1 lap x 40+ sections. No practice lap. No Minders. Only one chance to ride the section. What do you think? Would your Club be prepared to run a British Solo Championship within your National? If so go to your Centre meetings and get a proposal to the Trials & Enduro Committee. Forget about the Youth class they have their own Championship.

  20. We tried this a few years ago at some of our trials. A discussion was had with the local police and it was agreed the club do a spot check on frame numbers and send them in . Did this for about 5 trials. Never recieved a acknowledement.
