  1. "the ACU always seems to listen to the top 5 on the main route and go with what ever they say........." It seems you have been listening to the barrack room lawyers, or is it through actual experince of attending one of the forums. Yes they (Trials Committee) do listen to the top 5 plus any other competitor, clubs, importers or anyone with an interest in the Championship. If they _ Competitors, clubs, importers or anyone with an interest - turn up or send a letter with their concerns or suggestions they are discusssed on the day. I have attended 3 of the last 4 and our club has been represented at the last 4. We have listened, prior to attending, what the riders want, what our club would like to see as a promoter, and what we believe is best for the Championship. In some cases we have persuaded other in to our way of thinking or have been persuded to change our way of thinking. Just because you dont get what you want does not make the forums a wsate of time. All the clubs who put on these championships either send a representaive or details on what the think is the best way forward, some they win At one time I agreed with the 'no practice lap' but listening to comments from riders and organisers at one of the forums my mind was changed. Going back to putting it all on National type trials, you say it would attract 200 riders. Is that on 1 course? If it to be a true Solo championship it would have to be 1 course. Do we as a sport want 200 riders riding around areas like The Dales? 200 riders plus 200 support vehicles plus ramblers plus spectators I dont so. How many of these 200 would be riding the event legal? I know it is not the clubs resposability if the machines / riders are not road legal but in the end any problems come back to the club. Remember dont listen to 'hear say'. Get the facts right then post an artical on your own experiance of running a British Solo Championship or even a National with 200 riders. Come along with constructive comments (Good or bad) on Saturday. I am sure you will be made welcomed.
  2. Put at least 1 round back onto the National Course (1 lap 40+ sections) I know that the youth will not be able to ride but the youth part of it is not a championship. It is only for experiance. Have a team of dedicated observers to observe each round. Observers not assistants. Increase the entry fee for minders.

  4. As of Tuesday 25th Sept this trial will still go ahead with a few precauctions. The landowner has asked that no vehicles that live/work on a farm be brought to the event, and that ALL bikes are meticulously cleaned. There will be a disinfectant mat for vehicles and foot spectators. Stuart Cameron Bradford & Dist MC

  9. Dont need a post card. I think you will find that all paid up affiliated members of the ACU (which is us) do have an expert who can and will advise fully paid up members on issues regarding land. Just contact your ACU afiliated club or center for details. You will also find details of whom to contact in your ACU handbook or the CD that was sent to all fully paid (
  10. There aint no problem. As IDMC states, it is printed on the regs when you enterr a trial. If you are one of those who enters on the day you are taking a chance, hoping that it will be the rules that you want i.e TSR22a or TSR 22b. Enter before the ACU trial and you will know what rules the event will be. If it aint the rules you want dont enter. Why should they chage for you?? I belive the majority of clubs run thier trials under the rules that the 'club members' want. They do not swap and chage over the year, therfore if you ride at a certain club at the beginning of the year you are 99% sure that the trial at the end of the year wil be the same rules. Someone mentioned earlier that they would prefer NO STOP. Well the ACU and /or the club have given you the chance to ride NO STOP - TSR22B. Look at the regs or contact the secretay of the event to see what rules they are running the trial under. If the ACU- Which is you- decide to only have 1 set of rules eg TSR22b what about all the riders who want TSR22A? As it is now there is no problem. Across the country there will be 100+ organised trials with a min of 50 per trial/ this weekend including Championship events That is 5000 competitors who are happy the way the ACU/Club are running things. Leave the rules as they are which gives everyone a choice.
  11. Here we go again!!!! It seems when news is in short supply so lets bring up the rules again. What are you hoping to gain by a poll. (that dont work)? If the rider does not want to ride under the rules of which a club is running a trial dont turn up.
  12. Turn off by pass towards Silsden. Pass cricket club up hill to canel bridge TR. Continue for about 1ml up a steep hill where you will find the car park at the top on the LH side. Map link on bradfords website. www.bradfordtrials.co.uk It is a Centre c/ship trial.
  13. I think the days of the cheap practice area is now gone.It is now at the stage where the landowners who allowed practice and organised trials are starting to realise that if they allow practice they come under the 14/28 rule which will mean that they may not be able to run organised trials. Perhaps if some of you contacted your clubs to see if they (your club) can arrange some form of financiall help from the Goverment and/or local council. Or even better obtain all the forms etc that are required get all the details that will be needed (eg spare land not being used) and go to your next club meeting fully armed and assist the commmittee in geting the ball rolling. We wont get anywhere just moaning or asking for details of practice areas on forums. Our club had 2 practice areas and in both cases the landowners have pulled the plug due to the 14/28 day ruling.

  15. Sometimes you have to start the ball rolling locally and establish your own rapport. Do you or any member of your club have any links with other countryside assosiations??? If not why not!! Do you know your local RA committee, NFU rep, Defra contact? See page 71 of the 2007 ACU handbook, plenty of help thier but I am afriad it will not come loking for you, you need to contact them.
  16. Bradford & DMC have a Beginners and Novice Trial on 11/3/07 at Silsden. Come along and have a go. If you enjoy join the club. More details on the clubs website www.bradfordtrials.co.uk
  17. Dont you mean Martin and Neil (Crosswaite)??
  18. Brief notes taken from minutes of the meeting (WWW.bradfordtrials.co.uk) Riders Views: Sections need to be more consistent. It was felt that at some rounds there were some riders taking part who are not up to the level required to contest a British Championship, at Expert level and these riders tended to ride together and numerous failures tended to cause a delay for other riders. In some rounds queuing had been a problem and Championship riders found themselves held up by earlier Experts. Importers Views: Generally happy with the ways things went. Concerns about the Lightweight round if the weather had not been fine. 2) Confirmed that there would be 8 rounds this year which inevitably meant that there would be a slightly smaller allocation of monies at the end of the series After some discussion it was felt that all rounds held should count. Agreed by Committee Priority of Entry: The method by which the priority Entry list was formulated was explained Championship selection was satisfactory. It was queried whether the 10 ten youths in the previous years
