Here's a variation on the same theme....
-
Mine's the bog standard 125. 2004 model year
Andy

don't suppose you could do one for me also. Happy to contribute or swap for some stickers?

We knocked up a 10mm lengthened arm which bolts on to the existing. Makes a big difference. There's somebody selling one for honda's on ebay which look similar in principle / design to the one i made. Maybe an option.
-
I run a 200 Jailing motor in a climber frame adapted to suit a tl125 motor... whilst the mountings are similar, they're not exactly the same and the 200 is taller and puts the carb in a slightly different position.... incidentally, the first motor i tried was a kymco 125 motor and the mountings and offsets (brackets & sprocket) were different (enough to require significant cut & weld) to the honda even though outwardly they look very similar. The engine fins on the 200 are much bigger too which necessitated a bit of trimming whereas the original honda engine just dropped straight in....
We also run a 125 twin shock with a cb125rs (OHC) motor which although is difficult to get the gearing anywhere near, it revs much harder than the tl yet is just as smooth at the bottom end.

Andy,
I'm happy to contribute some beer again and have no objection to paying for the wristbands.

Talon do them maybe they can post?
-
We had an IRIS chain snap on a 125 honda fourstroke.... definitely not too much power! - couldn't believe it thought it must have been clouted on a rock or something.
-
don't tend to have that class around here. Just ride it in the clubman class
-
Here's both bikes we have which now have fourstroke motors slotted in place of the two stroke original.
(i've a couple of honda motors on ebay if anybody's interested)

Thanks all, mines a TY.
May check out the clutch mod at a later date. Have just got a smaller sprocket for the front so next weekend, out with the spanners!!!
So... mods we're going to do will be the new smaller sprocket, change the jets, liberate the exhaust baffles, set of trialcast footrests, mudflap over the shock, graffics front board, dump the lights.... anybody have a wiring diagram to get rid of the loom??.. oh and of course an oil change. Am assuming the drain plug is the hex bolt on the lower left hand side of the sump??
Have downloaded the owners manual.... anybody have a service book etc they can send me??
Andy

taken the plunge and invested in a 125f for fish (the boy).
Received me jets from birks and intend on breaking open the tail pipe and liberating the 2 baffles......
Anybody got any other good set up tips other than the carb and exhaust? what gearing?
Will post pics when its all sparkly and tidied up.......

I had a 325 beamish, but the earlier model that you had with the full rear frame loop. A friend once had a later model 250 without the frame loop just as yours has.
Mine was originally a solo but did have a sidecar, i think its unlikely yrs had a sidecar as the swinging arm was about 40mm longer, the headstock had a large boss / reinforcement to attach the chair just infront of the tank and the left hand footrest mount was reinforced. The sidecars also had different fork yokes.
Mine ran for years with little maintenance and invariably started first kick whatever the weather. Brings back fond memories, wish I had it now..... Could never get fork seals to last long tho for some reason.

Must admit, TMX page 3 is probably about the only page I don't read on a regular basis...
-
Anybody got a spare kicking about they'd be willing to part with?? or any idea where i could get one.....
-
Certainly does make you stop and think....
-
I do know the tom wycherly trial was genuinely cancelled due to the land being flooded
-
I believe it has been cancelled.

I run a Jai-ling (Honda) 200 engine in my bike which I got from Jon Bliss. So far so good.
Before I bought it did a bit of research, turned out up until quite recently, the jai-ling engine plant was officially called Jai-ling Honda Manufacturing - a joint venture in china with honda producing single cylinder motorcycle engines specifically "for export..."
I'm informed that the engine I have is "2nd generation" honda design with improvements such as roller bearings on the camshaft etc.... Not anywhere near as cutting edge as the current crop of high-tech 4 strokes but apparently the 'precision' & bearings bits come from honda Japan and things like outer casings, screws etc are sourced locally and then put together in a huge factory probably about 1 every 10 seconds... incidentally the sump drain plug must be locally manufactured as it cracked first time i tightened it up.... luckily I had 1 or 2 spare honda engines in the shed which I was able to swap it with....
And the cost....? brand new complete with CDI box, kickstart etc cheaper than anywhere I could find a secondhand TLR 200 lump....
I guess time will tell but for those that know me and may have seen me about.... its not fallen apart as yet, neither have any of Jon's bikes to my knowledge...
And, how long before the current generation of CRF, 4RT engines are sourced from there?

Does anybody have a good picture of the presentation showing the podium they'd be prepared to let me have a copy of...?
(I only have one of me stood on it... not quite as elegant as FUJI et al..)
SORTED now thankyou!!

I was stood by the section. She was not alone in recording a 5 there... Cabestany, Taddy and Shaun Morris also. We couldn't see the line of sight that the observer had but quite clearly there were variations in just how far some of the riders were placing their wheels. What did stand out though was how Sanz reacted together with her minders. Cabestany simply shrugged his shoulders and moved onto the next section. That 5 cost him the win?
-
The pilot jet hole in the carb body that feeds the main venturi is easily blocked and does affect the bikes running dramatically on tick over - I've 'carefully' cleared mine in the past with a wire from a wire brush on both the 125 and the 200 honda's i have.
-
how does it look if you add a linear trend line?
