  1. Pete on my way to the dishes by 1.00, very quick laps for me, thought the rain was going to come down hard. Started quite well, only dropped 5 up to section 7, and as you said he is an evil man, probably the worst drop off I have ever tackled resulting in a five, went a bit pear shaped from then on. No problem with the hill climb, the 270 eats tumps like that all day in fourth. Bit dissapointed with the step, could have done with a catcher to give me abit more confidence, would have done me good to get up that, did see quite a few not getting up as well so made me feel a little better. Surprised how many I dropped though as i had quite a few cleans, one of those trials where you either get up or dont - clean or five most of the time. Definately noticed the sections getting slippery on my last lap, three sections I had cleaned easily on laps one and two either turned out as fives or threes. Hope you had a good ride Pete, catch up with you soon, maybe at the Leam Vic Boxing day trial. Stu did nt see you today, glad the hand has healed up ok
  2. Just pipped me by 120 odd then? 2 are you sure Pete? hes in a world of his own in the slippy stuff, great trial although I found it bloody hard work. Nice to do a tough slippy one once in a while, brings you down to earth a bit. Did nt get up the 6 foot step first lap and took fives on the other two laps. Rushed around as quick as possible before the rain came down, maybe should have slowed down a little though as I caught the Experts on lap two as I finished, walking some of the sections may of helped? but maybe not 16 sections again from the club, brilliant and obviously loads of work gone into organising the Event.

    Beta 4-stroke

I think the 4t will be in big demand next year, but I dont think Beta will keep up getting them made going on the promotion output for the bike. I would buy one right now, but I,m not in a position to do so just yet, hopefully if they are available in numbers in the spring I will get one.
  4. The thread is very short on the bolt and not very strong, had this happen on my 04 due to taking it off too much to regrease it. Only take it off a few times a year and dont be tempted to tighten it too much or it will strip the thread, only option I can think of is a helicoil like mine, local garage may be able to do it for you for a few quid.
  5. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm Steves coming is he, maybe I should move routes? Wrighty no doubt will want to take a few off him which will pretty much mean a tonne up score for me Looking forward to it though, got a feeling it will be wet as predicted Pete
  6. Irg, where are you from? may help narrow things down abit for you, the Midlands or near it is a pretty big area
  7. Tordi, have you found the vid yet? I think it says a great deal for the bike and Steve himself that he took it to a trial on sunday in terrible conditions, it could have been a disaster for Beta if it had been shown that it was lacking in power, grip, and reliability. Does'nt matter where the bike had its first trial, WTC or local Club event its true colours would have come out in either, sure Steve is going to say the right things but if he had any doubts I dont think he would have taken it to the Trial in full view of the general public.
  8. Used to practice wheelies alot a few years ago, mainly because it was the only thing to do on the bike in the evenings if I wanted a bit of a ride. I dont practice it anymore but would still say I am quite good at it, never had to use it in a trial but being able to wheelie propally does teach you good throttle and clutch control as well as vastly helping your balance in your riding. As somebody else has said front wheel placement is improved onto rocks and steps which does help, also 90 degree plus pivot turns are alot easier if you can wheelie a bike easily.
  9. Spud, pretty sure thats Jon Luff on the 4RT and not Steve Jons a good rider and it just shows how good steve still is
  10. The Rev4 looked very impressive in the video, Steve did,nt seem to be lacking in grip or power and more importantly it fired up striaghtaway as well. First trial out and not much time on the bike the Beta just gets better, hope a few dealers will have a demo bike for customers to try out next year. The noise difference was very noticable as well compared to the 4RT which can only be a good thing.
  11. Scott, 240 seems an awfull big main jet to me, may be wrong? Removing the air box is letting more air in and leaning the mix up so it revs better, sounds like to much fuel
  12. Pretty sure its an Armstrong, brother used to have an all red one and from what i can remember it had a wider front tyre on it. Bit of a handfull at times
  13. As I had said in the post, my bike was running far to rich so thats why I changed the jets. If your bike is running fine I would nt bother, could make things worse, give it a go if you want though my bike has been transformed by re jetting, but it was running bad before hand. If you do change it I have noticed the pilot needs cleaning every ride due to its size, quick job but could let you down this time of year if it stays in there too long. Let us know the results on here if you do
  14. PJ1 Filter spray, really easy and quick and the filter comes up like new every time. Used to use hot water and fairy liquid but the PJ1 gets it far cleaner. Also use PJ1 filter oil afterwards
  15. Remember turning up to a Road Race at Snetterton in the ninties, load of coppers pulled in as well to check bikes and I,m not joking half the paddock left straightaway, about 60 odd vans. Nicked bikes used to be rife in Road racing, dont think its so bad in Trials but it could be a good idea.
  16. TTS, great oil, been using it for ages, the Repsol is also good 65ml in 5 litres runs sweet

    Beta 4-stroke

Looks alot bigger in the picture, not so refined and abit rough around the edges. Bike looks great though

    Beta 4-stroke

Nigel, there is a market if the bike is reliable and rides well, not huge granted but still a good market. As I have said previously this is the first time I have ever had any interest in a 4 stroke before, hate the Mont but the Beta looks a completely different approach. Lots of my mates are showing interest as well and to be fair we are 2 stroke fans through and through so the Rev 4t may be a big turning point for sales and Trials bikes in general (I hope so) One thing that really bothers me though is the 2 nd hand price and market for these bikes, I had a WR 450 from new as there was no way I wanted to chance buying one second hand, these 4 strokes go bang so does the wallet, a rebuild could well cost
  19. Might see you at one of the rounds mate
  20. Spud, regs should be out well in advance and probably be advertised on here as well. The Colmore is run by the Stratford on Avon club and have their own web site for regs. I would think most are road trials, the Colmore,Wallace definately are but not sure about the others. Best keep the IRC on mate, more grip the better Vic Brit round 1 Novo regs Stratford Site (Colmore)
  21. Spud, the Colmore will be worth entering in 07 as it will be aimed as Pete has said at riders like ourselves. Sections are usually slippy climbs, roots and the odd quarry type section, good ride around the cotswolds. Bikespaces round looked good as well in Mid Wales, did nt enter as it clashed with the Hipwell but will be doing it next year.
  22. Got the email address from the site but not his home one, hope it helps Berko contacts
