Got a NGK BPR5 ES plug in Carl, Jitsie filter with PJ1 on it and use TTS at 65ml per 5 litres of High octane unleaded, bike is finally running right after 6 months. Carb does nt leak anymore thanks to Steve (only a little anyway)

Thats what it is now thanks Carl, will keep an eye out for that when the temp goes up again. Cant beleive how much difference it has made today, bike is superb although will take a little while to get used to the extra power. Mate tried this set up before but was way too weak, I think the carb kit has been out for bikes like mine that just happen to run rich from stock? some do some dont? I have also removed the reed block spacer which halps on initial pick up and the big bonus and main reason I took it off was for ease of removing and putting the carb back on

145 from the standard 150, had 5 hours of constant riding and lots of pinned up hill climbs and no signs of running weak at all.

Been using the smaller pilot jet for the bike for the past few months with great results (27.5 from standard 30) and tried the smaller main jet today. The bike ran brilliant today with it in, no bogging at all and no need to clear the throttle after constant nadgery sections on low revs. Plug was brown at last from its usual ****ty black colour from new and no popped plugs either. Took abit of getting used to the new power though in the mud but sorted by the end of the day. No pinking either which I thought it might do with the smaller jet, just loads of clean power from idle to flat out. If anyone is going to try it keep a good eye on the plug, mine has been running too rich thats why I have changed it

A great deal of the bike looks like the Rev 3 so costs must be down for the production side of things. If the engine has had major money spent on developement and tool set up then I cant see more trials bikes sales being much help in offsetting the R&D. Hope the price is less than 5 though but have a feeling it may have to be this high. Plenty out there will still buy it though if its a good reliable bike, first generation of 2 stroke sized 4 strokes, bet Mont,Gasser etc are a little worried in the board rooms today

Neon, your right, this is the only time i have ever had any interest at all in trying a 4 stroke. Hope this is the start of better things for trials bikes in the future, the Mont is far to big for me to get used to and complicated. Really hope they have been working on this for years and its not a quick fix job, cant wait to have a go on one now.

Have to agree Andy, very poor. Most of the dealer sites are poor as well, the 07 Rev3 coverage was terrible, best pics were on here as usual and virtually nothing on lampkins or the Beta site, and they wonder why bike sales are low???? Think Beta may have shot themselves in the foot abit with the launch so close to the Rev 3, If i was just about to buy a 2 stroke I would cancel it untill more info and a test ride was available for the 4 stroke. They may find 2 stroke sales non existant untill Feb once the 4 stroke has been tested.

Please,please,please Beta, all that work and developement, dont say you ve stuck a Mikuni on her, any one know?

SC, big thanks mate, bike looks great better than I thought it would to be honest, cant wait to see how much it is and what its like to ride. Seems to be in the 07 frame as well so no where near as big as the Mont which puts me off being a short a*** That kickstarts going to take abit of getting used too as well on the right

Carl, well worth trying the Pirelli first mate, if its kept its compound qualities it should work well in the ice. Cant remember the Dunlop though? saying that cant even having much interest in the tyres as a teen, just got on the bike and rode it.

Really big thank you to the Man 17 Trials Club and everyone involved today for such a great day. Brilliant trial, probably the best i have done in a long while and very well laid out throughout. Our lot did the Clubman route which was perfect for us all, testing in places but not dangerous at all and did nt feel B*****ksed at the end either. Really wish we lived a little closer to the Peak District as we have done quite a few trials in the area now and they are well worth traveling up to and would like to do loads more. The Expert class looked very tough and technical throughout the day and watching the likes of some of the top UK riders in action makes you realise just how much talent we have in this country. Some of the sections were horendous looking to us mere mortals but somehow a great deal of the entry made them look like main roads. Went round with John Sunter for quite a while and he makes things look so easy, great rider and amazing balance on the bike, should have been up there from what we saw today. Personally if anyone is thinking of doing this trial at clubman level it is well worth entering next year along with the John Mac and Hipwell, nothing silly and every section was possible to get through without pushing it. The Expert class I would say was a little advanced, but thats the opinion of a Clubman rider not an Expert, brilliant sections though and very well thought out. Thanks again everyone, hope to be riding up there as soon as possible

I,m pretty sure the pirelli tyres work well in cold/icy conditions, remember it being said a few years ago. I've not tried an IRC yet but may be my next choice of tyre as I have heard good things about them. Did nt like the Dunlop on rocks but it was good in the mud and grassy climbs, the Mich seems to be the best allround so far. Eddie another stunning post mate? descriptive,informative and too the point! well done Timp, you beat me to it mate, you must be nearly as old as me if you remember that one dont know myself if it still applies but may be worth a try in Jan/Feb

I ve been running the 27.5 pilot jet for some time now and it definately makes a difference for the better on throttle pick up and choking up low down. The jet does need cleaning very regulary though compared to the 30 standard. Not tried the smaller main jet yet but might stick it in next week to try. Repsol decals look good on the 07, but still wish it was in black as the 06 is now

Although he survived, it would take several months before Frank finally recovered. Outraged he headed back to the woods, managed to track down the grizzly and shot it. He felt sweet revenge, but then there was a tap on his shoulder. He turned around to find a giant polar bear standing there. The polar bear said, "Admit it, Frank, you don't come here for the hunting, do you?"
