  1. Are you sure it is not just the floating front disc brake.
  2. Pop the shields off. two stroke oil lubes the bearings of both mains.
  3. It is good that you want to find a good dealer, which you should. Parts availability is good, but you will find most parts have to come from the source. Which is Rising Sun Imports. You will not find a good online source that I know of. A lot of the basic parts can be sourced from others online, such as RYP products. If the parts are back ordered try some of the UK sources. You really do not need much parts on a trials bike. Levers, brake pads and fork seals just about do it!
  4. Results last year at TTC. http://trialonline.org/02%20RESULTATS%202013/2013%2003%20USA%2001/01%20102%20MONDE%20USA%202013%2001%20TRIAL.pdf http://trialonline.org/02%20RESULTATS%202013/2013%2004%20USA%2002/01%20102%20MONDE%20USA%202013%2002%20TRIAL.pdf He has ridden over seas before.
  5. You have adjusted it to where the piston does not fully release. That is why it pumps up.
  6. ( When you know that it is hissing down with rain so you go riding just to practice in the most slippy mud known to man.) In the dry southwest we bring 5 gallon buckets to carry our water to make the mud to compete back east!
  7. You would get more response posting in the Montesa section.
  8. Balancing with the engine on or off is good. Same with or without the brakes.
  9. If you can balance your beast for a minute you are well on the way! Go through the TTC training tips and vids. I think you have the right attitude!
  10. You are hooked when every where you drive all you see is the next rock you want to ride. The greatest section ever, or the greatest place to live to ride trials!. Also when you have trials parts in every vehicle, the garage, your office, bedroom and anywhere else that you spend time at. My pockets are another place. Unfortunately for my wife our anniversary always fell on the weekend of our 1st event of the year. She found out quickly about my first (only) love.
  11. I voted other, but of the three choices it would be no-stop. I always thought 1-5, but 10 for a failure. You have to have more of a point spread. Trials has become like basketball. You ride for hours and everyone is separated by just a few points. I can also see a stop allowed, just to catch your balance. No all day dab. And you have to have forward momentum to hop!
  12. The whole rear of a Rev 3 can be misaligned. The rear fender mounts, the rubber exhaust bushings. And then everything else in-between.
  13. Tall world champions and other local tall great riders never address this issue. Have you ever wondered why? Our body position is relatively the same. In fact tall riders have it much better. Your height is usually the same as your arm span. Go measure yourself. So the ride position is very similar between people. Taller riders, just have the grasshopper effect, they have more body to throw into the movements.
  14. Very well stated. If the rules are not being followed, (No matter which they might be.) the result will not be an actual competition. More like a free for all. I once rode a trial that the time was set incorrectly as no one would finish except the first few riders. But only if they rode very fast. The sanctioning body was always strict on time, so 95% of the riders would have timed out. The sporting steward from the host club made up his own rules to get everyone finished in time. We were passing other riders within the sections to hurry the event along. Two and three riders at a time in the sections. Crazy, yes. But it was fun in a strange way. If everyone is not riding the same rules, it is basically just chaos.
  15. They used to offer a 70 kit. More power and less smoke.
  16. Naw leave the bike alone. Change locations. Colorado or New Mexico where most riding is done above 7000ft. Issue solved.
  17. Stock gearing was probably 11-42. I usually ran a 10 tooth countershaft, because I rode in second the most.
  18. Try just removing the pressure plate to make sure it is lining up correctly. This happens on some bikes that need a certain exact fit. The Beta should just go together, but you could be off just a little. You do have the parts diagram?
  19. If you have trouble with ledges and under cuts, you will enjoy the Pro. For every thing else you will miss the Beta.
  20. There you go again with common sense and obvious reasoning. Years ago the younger riders thought trials was boring. Now a days they know it is exciting, but takes too much effort to be a great rider. Trials has always been an older man sport as far as 70% of the rider entries went. Probably will never change it till it is gone forever.
  21. The pilot jet needs cleaning often on these. Did you clean the carb?
  22. You need to measure the clutch pack for proper thickness. Go to gas gas motos and download a manual. http://www.gasgas.com/Pages/Technical/Pro/clutch-measurements.html
  23. Tough, the rule is the same for all. It is a motorsport, if you stop in any other sport you are losing. I enjoyed to be able to stop and balance, but the FIM and others have changed the rules too many times. Are you not able to pick a line and actually ride?
  24. After scoring at the Nationals in New Mexico all day Saturday I was quite bored. At dusk I grabbed my son`s Raga for a little wheelie session up the ski slopes. Great fun this is after watching the riding all day. I rode nationals for years and scoring does me no justice. It was only 15-20 minute ride. (At 8400-9500 ft elevation) I ended up pushing the bike back to my camp. Thought the worst as I had packed the S/arrestor full of aluminum.I thought piston, but I had melted the inside of the mid-pipe. Not much air at 9000ft. Lot`s of heat. Yes. By the way I run 80:1.
  25. We`ve already had this one. It is still just as subjective. It was better than the rule with the all day draagg, sorry I meant dab! No- stop is still the purist set of rules. With a point for a stop, you could have a top rider three every section and never dab. Try explaining that to a new rider, spectators, or a new scorer!
