  2. The 4RT is really strange as it hits at just above idle and then it does rev out well. The initial hit is hard to control on clutch release. You can watch most 4rt riders as they will spin in places where most two stroke riders don`t. It`s always interesting to watch a Bou video because the sound never matches what you think the engine should be doing. And yes, if I had a 4RT I would invest in a pipe!
  3. And why do you think only 4 Montesa`s entered the British Championship?
  4. So what are you trying to figure out with the weight of mass for?
  5. That is why they came out with a 300 instead of a 250. Do you really think a 300 4 stroke makes as much power as even a 250 two stroke? No , not even close.
  6. Yep. The stock one does not sound like that one. That is why the sound is covered up!
  7. You need to spend some dollars if you want a stock 4rt to have some punch. https://www.termignoni.it/en/product-category/montesa-en/ None of the good riders on Montesa have stock machines. Also most of the top riders have a stronger clutch to create a quicker inertia.
  8. I would have liked to see a pic, before you cleaned it up. From the second picture it looks like the cylinder was leaking into the water jackets. I would pull the cylinder off and have a good look at the piston and rings. With using H1R, chances are your rings are just stuck as Bel Ray products leave a real gummy residue. (I used to get all B.R. products cheap and loved H1R until I saw the insides of my motor.) You will need to remove the rings and clean up the grooves. So you will need a base gasket, and orings. Rings if you feel like it. Two things to check while going back together would be the water pump and make sure the fan is working properly. Good chance the fan is not coming on all the time. When they start going bad you can spin it to get it started. Good luck, I`m going riding.
  9. So if you recently bought it, is it new? Or did you buy someone`s problem. I would be talking to the dealer. Are you sure you don`t have a stuck piston?
  10. It got hot from the ride. The orings in the head might have went or the piston did. I would drain the coolant, remove the head and have a look. Posting pics would be good, too.
  11. Are you using the petcick? Hard starting on a normal rev 3 usually would be caused by engine flooding. A Beta sbould easily start with 2 or three kicks. Nothing wrong with the Mikuni on the Beta. They were standard equipment from 1990 to 2007. Beta tried the Del Orto in 1995 and those ran like crap.

    Tlr Qs

It appears you are not in the UK? Markets varied world wide.
  13. If you looked at my post, he needs a larger pilot and slightly leaner than stock on the main. Remember we are talking a 200, which was not a full 200cc.
  14. It has to do with atmospheric pressure AND the bikes come from the factory usually too lean on purpose for emission standards.
  15. Copemech is Mark Cope a proffesional auto mechanic. I am Bob Rowland, slave to trials for 48 years.
  16. Now this thread is getting somewhere.

    2019 RR Vs One

And I don`t like crazy bar risers, but do like a better bend of bar.
  18. Running good when cold, says it is not the key way.
  19. If it starts within two kicks, you are golden. Very few bikes are one kick wonders.
  20. It could not hurt to unplug all connections and double check all grounds.
  21. During that time, riders would keep the old AJP`s and put the Formula`s on the old bikes. The best fix is find a used set of AJP`s. I am running 2005 AJP`s on my `16 as the Brak Tec`s are marginally better.
  22. So is the plug wet every time you remove it? I still think the engine is full of fluid if it won`t kick over. Hydro locked. The old TXT motor actually has a drain on the right center case for the crankcase.
  23. Too bad as it is the easiest problem to sort. Still could be the carb. The Keihin works fine, except that tower can get clogged up and or the oring leaks. My bikes float tab actually sticks and then bends the tab with a hard hit. Then it just floods. Pain in the rear. Good luck.
  24. Careful, because that can be the same thing as fuel or electronic. Had the same issue with a guy with a 2018 Beta. He swore he had no spark issue. Turned out it was the replacement fuel cap not venting.
  25. You may have flooded the engine. Did you transport it with the fuel off?
