  1. Good job manning up Biff. No I'm not angry, if fact I am a nice guy, or so Im told. I feel better now. Wanna hug?
  2. We understand, it is the dealers fault that you posted a load of cr@p on here. Man-up and take responsibility for you own posts!
  3. Just got my issue of Trials Comp and Gehrnhart/Mr EnduroX is on the COVER!!! What the heck is the world coming to?
  4. Cost is due to the exchange rate. Less power? All trials bikes have plenty of power for the averager rider. My brother is married to a lovely black woman, you should watch your mouth. 2867 posts and not a single one worth reading.
  5. It is a standard plug used in Honda road bikes. You may have to use a 6 instead of the 5.
  6. If any AHRMA reps read this: Put in a twin shock class and you will have 20-30 more riders.
  7. A few late entries is no big deal, but, too many late entries cause a problem for the organizing club. If you make too easy to do late entry, then many more riders will do it. Too many hurts the cash flow. The way things are set up now it would cause a problem the day of the event. I do agree that the clubs should get the late fee. The clubs should get a bigger split overall. Refunds are only partial.
  8. Interesting discussion going on here Endurocross on Thumper Talk
  9. Good question! I had hoped that if I repeated myself and tried not use too many big words you may have grasped the idea that if you look beyond the individual scores, the TdN scoring makes for a very interesing trial. The hope was that this would help all enjoy the event more. The US Team result was great and to those that were involved and made the effort to be there or to support the Team it matters.
  10. Dr HUd, I will try and explain it again. Here is just one example for you to consider. The Brits and Spain are locked in a great battle and they are tied after 1 lap. On lap 2 the team decides to have Dougie ride last on each section to pull out a clean if needed. On 10 of the sections Graham, Dibs and Browny go clean. On those same 10 sections Doug punches a five to save time as his ride was not needed. His individual score for that lap will be 50 points higher than the others. It will look like Doug had a terrible ride when in fact he never even rode those 10 sections. It was not needed. This is just one example of why the individual scores at the TdN are meaningless for comparisons. I know I am repeating myself but I don't think you understand the rules and strategies of the TdN. The rules for MXdN, Golf and Tennis are different from the TdN. the observer
  11. Ishy is right. it is a team event in every way, in spirit, scoring and results Scoring at the TdN count the best three rides by a team per section. This means that the fourth score per section is not counted. This creates many strategy oppertunities. For example: If on lap 1 the first three riders have gone clean in a section the the fourth man is free to try a new line or gear that they may use on lap 2. Or, say they are undecided about what line to take, the first rider can sacrifice his ride trying the line and then let his teammates know if the line is good or not. Or, if time is tight on lap 2 and the first three rides are clean then the fourth is not needed. That rider can punch out and save valuable time. Or say the first three scores are 0, 0, 1. Then the fourth man knows that only a clean ride by him will do the team any good, so it must be a clean ride or die. This results in that rider risking it all for the clean and maybe getting a five, whereas in a normal trial he may have played it safe and taken a 1 with a saftey dab. The are many more strategies. How many can you think of? All these factors and more make a riders individual score totally meaningless for comparison purposes. These factors are also what make the TdN such a special and interesting event. This scoring system allows all the riders of a team to make a contribution. Congrats to the American Team. It is a great result.
  12. this seems very familiar. oh yes, attack one of the sport good guys and then run and hide under a rock. EL you must have been looking at the ML playbook! not very original.
  13. I forgot to ride the sections !!!
  14. That is a very good question. I am sure that there is a difference. That too is a very good question.
  15. it looks like a Shoei TR3, to me.
  16. It may not have a slide. It may have a butterfly.
  17. what plug are you rinning? it has to be a resistor type ( R)
  18. the rules for the US AMA Enduro Series have changed for 2007. It will now be more like the ISDE.
  19. Paul, I saw Geoff Arron and Nick Mantzoros on the ECross coverage. I heard the announcers talk about Geoff, Nick and the sport of Trials on National TV. I see this as a good begining. Trials exposure through ECross will only grow. Next year there will be 10 trials riders showing up. I suggest that you take moment and email Speed and the ECross promoters (as I have done) and thank them for their coverage and tell them that you and your friends will be watching for more. Maybe even thank Geoff and Nick for representin' This will help build on what Nick and Geoff have done..
  20. Trials history was made last night. A four stroke won an Indoor. thats a big deal. good for them. I ride a 2T but I like all bikes. Lets talk about trials. What do you all think about it? I though this was a Trials website. What in blazes, is this guy talkin about? Why is it here on a trials website???. Maybe there should be a Irrelevant section where this stuff could be posted sowe we could all ignore it.
  21. Hola Senor TodoTrial, Congratulations on your excellent English! It is much better than my Spanish. Muchas gracias for the information about FreeTrial. This scoring system has been in use in the USA for well over 5 years. We call it "Gate Trials" . Many clubs all over the US have used this system for club trials. It is good to see that Europe is taking an interest in this American scoring system. You see it is an American invention not French. It was invented by American Carl Peters of NY and not Bernard Estripeau. Carl has been a rider and a trial organizer in for over 30 years. He is a member of the NATC (north american trials council) He has organized many US Nationals and several World Rounds in Watkins Glen NY. He is the father of top American rider Raymand Peters. The scoring is explained here. http://www.geocities.com/twoftup/scoring.html Thank you for your message and keep up the good work at TodoTrial. It is a great website. the observer
  22. According to this report he signed two days ago.... Finally. http://www.todotrial.com/ttactual/indexttactual.htm
  23. [ Just who exactly is this person "Mom" that Mr. Leavitt is always talking about?
  24. By such a ridiculous statement you completly invalidate any miniscule measure of sense or reason in your view. There is no mandate. There are only emissions laws. They did not hire the best. Raga is the best. They hired #5. HRC/Honda have put the squeeze on the other small factories because they do not have the R&D bucks. I can't see it good for the sport forcing the small guys to HAVE to build a 4stroke only.(Obviously this has been backed off). So what was so rediculous about any of that? STeve mr steve, your comments about honda forcing the FIM to require other companies to produce four strokes is absurd. GAS GAS, SHERCO, BETA and SCORPA all have 4T bikes in their lines ups.Trials, trail, super motard and enduro models. According to you they were forced to do this by honda and the FIM. I say B*****ks! they do it to sell bikes! You say the small factories do not have the R&D bucks to produce a 4T. Well, both Sherco and Gas Gas got the job done. both factories produce fuel injected four stroke enduros engines. Sherco has produced a 4T trials motor. these are the facts and that makes your comments appear ridiculous. if you don't like being held accountable for your words then don't write such rubbish.
