Didn't Mont have a clear tube that ran in a groove in the tank made for that purpose for a fuel level way back when on an old twin shocker.
  3. A lot better, top four still at the top! and a good place to start tweaking to take a few dab's off Bou next time. Mebe a couple of more real testers and leave the rest close to todays severity. Probably the most complaints will come from the top few riders about it being too easy, I don't think I have ever heared of a world round being cleaned before, if not it's another first for Bou.

It doesn't look too bad flying from here providing there are no more large eruptions. From the delta site "Update: As of April 21, Delta
  7. Easy, looks like one man could three a few sections and win the trial, while the rest just crashed all day, they can't follow their own gudelines for section difficulty, Bou is well ahead at this time, should all the sections be made for one man ?.

  10. Double A, Cabby mentions in the article on the front page about his friend turning 50 is one of the reasons he is riding this year, he should have a whole load of spare tubes and tyre repair supplies following him round. Are you the friend ?

  12. If a new man to the Job mebe he couldn't get them to change much, or didn't want to stirr the pot too much first time out. Very good rider in his day, but it doesn't make him a great course inspector, if the advice falls on deaf ears then it also doesn't help the job.

It reads on the rider pack, ACU SACU/MCUI I think they are all UK so legal Only other option is the full international FIM license
  14. Make sure the adjustment on the lever is back enough to let the clutch plunger return , this could even be the problem in the first place.
  15. No way!!! they buggered the world championship, don't let them do the same to the SSDT.
  16. When the Fim make rule changes to the world championship trials events do they still send FIM officials out to make sure the rules can be correctly applied, new rule states the rider is allowed 1 minute to ride the section, but the sections were too long by all accounts, shouldn't this of been caught the day before the event. When I put on a world round the FIM official for that event spent the best part of a day walking all the sections with me correcting and tweaking any section that needed it, all his advice made a lot of sense and the event didn't have time or section difficulty problems with a good score spread and the easier, medium and hard sections that the FIM guidelines suggest. I don't know who the FIM official was for last weekend, but they obviously didn't do a very good job.

There is a good alloy stand for little money, take an old pair of handle bars and hold them against your side stand, at one point you can match the same shape as the stand, cut off the rest, and weld the top off your old broken stand to the bars, also the foot, did it on the Pentax honda, looks real trick.

I'll be ower a week from thus'd, if tha buys me enough ale I'll show 'T.
  19. Top riders want it tough so they have better chance of the win, as stated by Totalshell. Had the same problem this weekend when riders at the top end of the class want the sections toughening up a bit, it's a big NO NO!!!!! cater for one rider, end up with one rider. I think the FIM are favoring certain groups or teams at the expense of the majority, then start changing rules to cover up the real problem. Martin Lampkin and any other team manager will push for what is best for the team rider, it's a no brainer and I would do the same for any rider on my team if I had one. Why they keep repeating the same mistakes I don't know.

  23. We used to drive down the road in old Moggie thou's and Ford pop's the cars have changed a bit but still going down the same roads. Dabster is right, the 1 min time limit isn't a big deal providing the sections arn't made too long. I don't think not being allowed to walk the section on the day makes much sense, they can and do change from lap to lap, is a rider allowed to walk along side the section just not enter it ?. Dan also makes a good point, will this format be better or worse for spectators ?.

22 day's to go, I hope it isn't going to be all hot and sweaty all week, I can't return all this expensive Gortex if it doesn't rain, not to mention mi wellies too, well known Yorkshire nightmare, spending brass tha no need 't. Folks are coming from all around the world to experience the SSDT, little bit of sun for the parade then lash down all week, you often see riders from warmer climes moaning about mud, cold, wet, how hard and how far it is, on the verge of packing it in, when along comes a Tyke " what's up wi thi tha soft bugger, it's nobutt a bit of mist, az working up a reet grand thirst tha nos" That bit of snow soon thawed.
