  1. Our club event last weekend we added $10 to the entry fee, close to 5 quid/ rider, the total then was devided amoung the observers after the event. Club event over there should get in the reigon of 100 riders, 5 quid each 500 quid, 10 sections, observers get 50 quid each, good incentive to observe. There will always be the tight bugger who won't want to pay a fiver extra, but in my opinion the observers are worth it.
  2. What about up and down on the the Lambs head.
  3. hard start when hot on the sherco, often can be caused by a clogged pilot, easy test, see if it starts better with a little choke. Dale you changed the plug and the pilot jet, which cured it ? Makes sense to try one thing at a time.
  4. Did you ban the sad bugger it wern't text talk, probably trying to type with his mouth full
  5. I was trying to sus the Fri course, in 98 we rode out to Pipers, then back along the road and down Loch Shiel over to Coire Dubh. way I read it this year we go right round then back the other way up Lock Shiel, and over Annatt to Trotter's, HL put it down as easy , so I look forward to seeing her parked up there in the little econo box, cheering us on.
  6. I just pasted it from the front page of TC, so you didn't have to go there to read the topic.
  7. Looking at last years in the program and still trying to sus em at the mo, but a good topic to talk about. [story, TC front page] The routes for the 2007 SSDT are coming together nicely, with some changes planned from the last few years, but the great news is that it looks fairly certain that Lagnaha will be back. Lagnaha is a series of great spectator sections - although many riders cringe at the thought of a fistfull of fives, they all secretly relish the challenge of beating those classic sections under the watchful eyes of hundreds of spectators! The two long days - Tuesday and Thursday - will remain much the same as previous years, but Wednesday and Friday will be shuffled around to add some interest. Wednesday will see sections at Callart, Kilmalieu and the Kingairloch loop being used, finishing with Rhuba Ruadh entailing a double trip over the Corran ferry. Friday will start off with the usual trip out towards Pipers Burn and round to Strontain, but then up to the ravine at Coire Dubh, and out along Loch Shiel finishing with the easy(!) moor over to Trotters Burn. Saturday will see the event finish off as usual on Ben Nevis but will include a few more spectator sections around Kinlochleven in the morning. More details will follow whan the routes and permissions are tied up. In the meantime, remember that in order to secure your place in the trial you must have paid your full entry fee no later than Friday 9th February. If you think there's a chance that your payment may be late, particularly if you're sending it through a foreign bank account, please get in touch with the Secretary to be sure that your place isn't reallocated to another rider!
  8. I don't see a need for another forum, if a topic is just tripe it dosn't take long to move down, and the best fun can be had from a topic that was started on one thing and changes mid stream. 10. Would that be Pushrod Palmer John? think there is some pictures of him riding the Yam in the 86 worldround at Pately bridge. Now what you need to complete the show John, is that sweet Fantic 200 I have, I'll box her up and ship it for thi at a sensible price.

    Ooh Ah Lagnaha

Very popular place for the spectator on a Monday, like riding up to a group of sections in a world round. Great news if it is in again.
  12. DNA from Africa to Yorkshire Mark Henderson, Science Editor African blood has run through British veins since at least the 18th century and perhaps since Roman times, a study suggests. A set of typically West African genes has been found in seven white British men who share the same rare surname, allowing scientists to trace an African heritage that none had any idea he shared. The African Y chromosome

    Beta 4-stroke

That ell do it, I ride 99% of sections in first on mine and it's geared down two on the back from stock gearing, the bikes will revout a lot higher than a two stroke so gives you a longer range in first. I see a lot of riders pullling tall gears on bigger bore bikes and basicly just hanging on, the little 125 pizza bike did every section in the SSDT in first gear, including all the big steps like Trotter's, Whiches etc.

    Beta 4-stroke

Clubman, new bike, very tight, probably nervous, stalled first section, can't have much time on it, done it myself on the first section two and four-stroke, wouldn't try draw any conclusions from it just yet. How many time did Steve stall his ?.
  15. Don't worry Jess, not too many are sure about your dad

  17. That global warming is melting the ice, and it always seems to drip on Fort Wiliam, good job thi skin is waterproof inside and out Got mi wellies and gortex, in case I spill any at bar.
  18. Nice easy test you can do on your Beta rob, find a nice ice patch and hold it full throttle top gear even when you come to the end of the ice patch keep her on full chat, take particular note of the slick to grip transition. Report you findings here
  19. I think all the cars must come with electro magnetic brake peddles and every bugger wears steel boots er summat. It snows an inch and job comes to a stand still in five minutes.
  20. No, another fella I know set his cruise well over 80, and hit a pool of water, fence, tree, etc. Wife just slid old F250 off side of the road into the ditch, and got stuck, lot of weight and only two wheel drive, it didn't take much to ground it.
  21. When he was telling me the tale, the flying part rang a bell, his bugger too
