Get water at the fuel stops, only thing you need on your body, waterproofs, fiver, route card.
Dry feet are worth a lot more than the ability to kick rocks, have Gizza do that for you.
Less you carry, the more time you have to go a little slower and avoid punctures and missing route markers, taking all that crap off you back and putting it back on at every group takes time.

Don't think it will be any problem in the sections, it's how she handles the long road and moor while getting a bit of cane, it's very fast full chat, faster than the Mont, but mine would start pushing oil out the breather if I held it on.
-
Grimbo has been out on the fourstroke quite a bit recently, is this going to be his SSDT mount ?.
After a disaster of a debut in 05, can it turn the tables and be the first four stroke to win the event since the sixties ? right man on it, favorite to win the event in my book.
Mont, also in with a good chance with Dabill.

I drilled and put an old valve stem in mine, little silicon to seal it, then tighten down the valve stem lock nut, and put the cap on it.

Reading the reports about the event, the bad weather caused section problems so they had to do last minute changes, so some of the sneak lines could be a result of that, still isn't like the winner dropped no points is it.
On the other hand looking at Caby's ride in this picture, one minder only allowed in the section, looks like some of the other team members jumped in to do a few last minute changes of thier own.

Got two, 05 motor in 06 frame with short swing arm, and 05 stock in original chrome frame, all I can say your in for a treat when you get on the later version, lighter, grips better, and out performs the older framed bike big time.
I just seem to have a lot more confidence to wait until I'm correct before an obstacle on the four stroke, and trust it will go up, even though I seem closer.
Noticed on the high res picture of Oliveras in the Spanish round they have changed the flywheel cover, looks bigger, but don't know the reason, still the carb, on it.
I had some carb problems at the last two day trial, ran great first day, second day after first lap started to run ***** and flood, stripped it down when I got home and found water in the fuel, don't know how it got there as the trial was in a dessert, but it did get very cold at night.
I think I have got the carb sussed stock, and for the most part they do need little tweaks of the mixture and air screw for different conditions on the day, much more than the two strokes.
Stuck with the same motor since I got the bike in 05, and she's still strong, if the new model is as easy to start as mentioned, it will soon make up lost ground.

Can I buggery get this leather recliner into mi case

Tried all sorts for bikes the times I have ridden the event, brother would lend me is older bike and sell it on after the event, bought bikes and had them shipped to the event through the importer, this year Dennis is renting three bikes from Sandiford's, then I will pay him in US $, that way only one exchange fee is required, all the UK importers will rent you a bike of choice, and you replace any broken parts on top of the rental, doub't you could ship a bike in the luggage in today's enviroment, and wouldn't try it, in case I got turned away at the gate.
I want to ride a four stroke so I went with the Mont for the SSDT, last year proved it was a good machine for the job, it's an expensive trip, and would be a real bummer to not complete the event due to bike failure.
Because the event is an international event, they do wan't entries from all around the world, but nothing is in stone, and has Jay said, some didn't make the ballot this year.
Booked flight online, $850, hotel will run another $600, entry $600, bike rental $1,000 to $1200 beer token's ???????????????? riding the SSDT priceless
