  1. I'm reading a lot of BS in this thread.
  2. Neo, you are correct in that a low compression engine will move less air through the venturi and in fact run lean. You will see the most effect of this at start up same as bad reeds( like a need to choke it even when hot). Low compressiom on a 2 stroke has a unique sound at higher revs. However, it will not come and go
  3. Yes if you sealed the vent tube it can cause fuel to come out the overflow and or starve for fuel
  4. and I doubt it holds a full liter of coolant, though I cant find the capacity in the manual.
  5. My manual says it holds 2 liters of fuel.
  6. It doesn't sound like it's bent. In the up possition if it runs right under the swingarm its good. The problem is the stop is wore off. And yeah, its a piece of crap(the stand).
  7. Sometimes the primary can make a knocking noise. Does the noise change with the operation of the clutch?
  8. Agreed, change doesn't always = improvement, however, no change = no improvement.
  9. You contradicted yourself. Distilled water is not de-ionized. While it is mostly free of contaminates, distilled water is highly ionized and should not be used.
  10. I agree with Darrell, brakes are going to be a lot better on the '03 Sherco unless something is wrong with them. That was one one of the reasons I upgraded from my '00 monty. I still have the monty and love the bike, but the front brake is weak.
  11. pull up to choke push back down for off. no turning needed.
  12. I liked the music also, which is unusual, I usually do not like any music with videos.
  13. practice doing small wheelies mostly by dipping your knees and standing back up with a little throttle
  14. This is how it goes. First you learn how, work real hard on it for 6 months. Then you show your buddies how easy it is. They get bikes and in 2 weeks they're better than you already. You get p****d, sell your bike, and never ride again! Have fun till then.
  15. Well, its easier to put some race gas in it to see if it solves the problem than it is to rebuild only to find it still rattles to beat ****!
  16. unless you use very high octane gas it will sound like hammered ****!
  17. I've had tennis elbow in both arms. I injured the left elbow at work and it took 3 years to almost completely go away. When I started riding trials I hurt the right elbow and have aggrivated the left one every now and then. I have found that massaging the tendon with the finger tips and exercise to be the cure. Do a search on lateral epicondilitas.

    Sag On Beta

Is there comression and rebound dampning on the rear shock? I want to lessen the sag and lessen the compression damping? I've misplaced my manual for the '08 270. Thanks, Neil King
  19. The 315R motor is one tough sob.
  20. Looks like that is especially difficult to get rid of.
  21. When you break your right leg, the left hand kicker comes in handy.
  22. " You can see it through the gearbox oil sight glass. " Whaa? Isn' the flywheel on the other side? My understanding is, there is a spacer on the flywheel cover to make room for the flywheel weight. The sight glass is on the clutch side which is the primary side.

    06 Sherco 290

Just a stab at the cold/hot running difference. Generally speaking, an engine runs lean when cold, that is why you need a choke or an enrichner when first starting. The warmer the engine gets the less lean it runs, so if an engine runs better cold with the choke off than it does fully warmed up then it is probably running too rich. Neil
