Maybe the guy from texas was Jay Decker. He posted some pics of himself on a kawa.

Ian, it took 3 years for my left elbow to become pain free. I injured it by picking up a 30lb freon jug with my arm extended straight out and the palm of my hand down. I found some exersises/stretches and massaged the tendon with my finger tips, this helped tremendously. I hurt my right elbow and reinjured my left last year at a trials comp, but not near as badly as the first time. I was able to modify my riding style eventually to keep the pain from reaccuring after riding. I don't know exactly what I did but probably loosened the death grip on the bars. good luck

Another possibility is that the lever is adjusted in a way that the piston is not returning to a position past the hole to refill the chamber untill you get a little rough with the lever. Just something to look into.

I'm 6'2" and I have tried several different options; spacers under the clamps, Renthal 5.5" trials high, Renthal ATV mid, ProTaper trials high, others that weren't worth remembering. The Protapers are the best so far, the ATV mids were pretty good(a little too tall and too much pull back). Spacers moved the bars back too far, I tried rotating the clamps but I couldn't get that to work, I think the dampening adjuster was in the way. I was having trouble falling into turns, taller bars help me to keep my inside shoulder up and helps me to keep my weight back. Makes me wish I was practicing instead of sitting here with my broken leg propped on a pillow. Incedently I broke my leg on a climb that I had no problem with on my '00 315R but was giving a bit of trouble on the 270.

Glad to have helped, haha.

what year model is it? Is this something that just started or has it been doing it since you got it?

Coolanol is what I put in mine, on your recomendation. Ethylene glycol is as clear as water, the yellow is a dye of some sort.
-
I don't know what they mean by "organic" All glycol's are organic; ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, polyethylene, polypropylene are the common antifreeze glycol's. And glycol antifreeze needs water to work correctly. The one antifreeze/coolant that I know of called Evan's doesn't use water and is not used under pressure, I don't know what compound it is made of.

Mr. Williams, there should be no connection between the light switch and the kill switch, exept for the ground. I had a lot of problems with the kill switch on mine but it always worked independently from the light switch. The light switch is connected to the voltage regulator and the kill switch is connected through a diode directly to the CDI and ignition coil. I have considered that maybe the kill switch is somehow causing ignition component failures.

Works well in my '08. Lucas high performance motor oil semi-synthetic works good too.

The reason for using 500ml is so you can get 4 changes out of a bottle of elf. Some of the technical data is available on their web site. Mobil synthetic atf (if I remember correctly) is close to the same viscocity. I tried it, but didn't like it. I tried GM auto trac II and it works fair. I mixed the auto trac with elf and that works pretty well also.
-
use 500 ml. The only way to check it is to drain it.
-
I use a Renthal Fatbar # 609 54819. They are about a half inch taller than stock and have more sweep but not too bad. I also use pegs that are half inch back and three eights inch down from stock.

Robert, great event! The only disappointment was my riding abilities. I tried some of the afteernoon sections and holy crap I got some work to do! I was totally blown away by the Pro sections and the pro riders and very proud of Josiah Mizzel. The format was near perfect for spectators, well done!! I'm always looking forward to the next time I can make an event there. See ya,
Neil King

Pat, I don't think you can make a bad choice. But looking at the price I'd say the Beta is the best deal. I know several people that have '07 Betas and they are a great bike. The Beta is easier to balance than the Monty and the cluch action should be smoother. I have an'00 315R and it is still a good bike, that '04 is probably a very good bike. That said, at a $1k price difference for a 3 year newer bike I'd take the Beta. I have only ridden a Sherco a little but like them also.
-
The Beta waterpump housing is made of magnesium not aluminum and is much more subject to corrosion. Get ahold of your local Beta dealer or importer and ask them what to use. When you drain your coolant you might want to pull the cover and see what it looks like in there.

Just beating you to the punch Mr. Belair.

That doesn't explain why it took over 2 years to sell all the 05's. And I'm not talking about the Importer!
-
But it's also possible that all that gear can throw you off balance or limit your movements enough to cause more crashes. Just maybe. I do wear knee/shin guards when I'm practicing and sometimes in competition.
-
The elf HTX 740 works the best.
-
Oh how I laughed when it didn't work again.
That's not the way I have been doing it, but the next time I work on something and it doesn't work again I'm going to laugh my ass off.
-
Thanks for the offer, but I don't think I'm going to get to go. Sounds like fun though.
