Yea well, not good but figured as much as these things go. Likely the threads have totally siezed. The only good thing here is that you may be able to find a 6mm shaft to find center on the remaining bolt. Needs to be near perfect center on the first drilling of about 2mm. Soak it well in penetrant.
I never take them out to catching the fine threads unless absoutely neccessary, as you need something for the ez out to grip to if you stand a chance of getting the original out. Left handed drills may help!
Next would require taking to anout 3mm-3.5 so you can get a small EZ in the hole. Working with these small holes, you need something left to work with, yet still get a bite from the tool. Not to mention you do not want to re-use an already overstressed EZ that may break. Then you are screwed. You can go to 4mm if on center. Tap the tool in initially tho break corrosion.
Lastly if you cannot get things moving gently using a heat gun that can put out, you may need to remove the lower unit and drain the oil so you can really get a lot of heat on it without burning the oil and such inside. As the ali will expand at 3 times the rate of the steel . Yet we are talking about putting a real torch to it. Yet in the end, that may be better than an entire drillout and helicoil! Just need to get it moving!

Yea, well those Chineese ones that walk on your back are cheap too! And I don't want to know!

Bike looks a treat!
Not everyone wants a Kiehin 28! But it does make the OKO easier to adapt!
Good job by Ryan! He is a traction freak in the mud! He is gonna like this bike I think!
-
It is still soo cold here I just got my zipper caught un a hurry! Oh god that hurts!
-
You say it is bottoming out? Does it still have rebound dampening or is the spring just sagged out? If it acts like a pogo, there is no dampening.
-
So you are referring to a 6mm axle pinch bolt? And you must deal with the outer pinch section before you can actually get to the remaining bit?
Was it siezed upon removal or was it still turning yet snapped upon tightening? Makes a difference.
Either way, these can be tough, yet not impossible.

I did mention Bankrupcy, did I not? Oh, I know what you mean, most of my best work must be done by hand. I am a pragmatist, so I do not own
many things that reqire batteries! Although they do have their place. I just run down the batteries of others! After all, I am the shop foreman!
I only tend to keep stashed the little bits that are requierd here and there that not everyone has! I have a room as big as a single car garage full of crap at work! Along with my 3 boxes!
At home, I have scattered crap! Anything more and the wifey would have me doing more work!
Now, out at the hangar, I do have enough to get by, but I really think I need a plasma cutter that I can use with one of them CNC beds for pattern parts!

A crusty old golfer comes in from a round of golf at a new course and heads into the grill room. As he passes through the swinging doors he sees a sign hanging over the bar :
COLD BEER: $2.00
HAMBURGER: $2.25
CHEESEBURGER: $2.50
CHICKEN SANDWICH : $3.50
HAND JOB: $50.00
Checking his wallet to be sure he has the necessary payment, the old golfer walks up to the bar and beckons to the exceptionally attractive
female bartender who is serving drinks to a couple of sun-wrinkled
golfers. She glides down behind the bar to the old golfer.
"Yes?" she inquires with a wide, knowing smile, "May I help you?"
The old golfer leans over the bar an whispers, "I was wondering, young lady," he whispers, "are you the one who gives the hand-jobs? "
She looks into his eyes with that wide smile and purrs: "Yes Sir , I sure am."
The old golfer leans closer and into her left ear and says softly, "Well, wash your hands real f'ng good because I want a cheeseburger."

Fact is, I really do not know the best way to limit the power on the 4T! Limiting the throttle is one way, the 24 OKO will smooth it , but if anything like my 2.9 there is ultimatly still lots of power, only limits the very top.
I kinda wish Bob would toy with the inlet restricter idea to see what happened down at about 19-20mm.
I just wish the factory offered a 280cc cylinder and piston, as it is just not practicle to develop it in this market. The bike would be sweet!(for us lesser riders)

Somebody said Tommi was at Tish, not sure if he's still there.

OMG you would not believe, this week it was the mexicans next door and the same thing except in the mud and this kid ad sunk the Caddy in the side yard up to the axles!!
There was nothin to tie onto under this thing! And he wanted to tie into the trunk latch striker! I could have ripped the rear off the car, but made him crawl his dumb ass under the rear in the mud aand double wrap the strapto the rear suspension which was still weak!
The big diesel tugged him out in one piece, yet I was wondering! Now my mexican next door's yard is wrecked by this idiot and it looks like ****!
Even though I told the little ******* he better come back and fix it, we shall see!

I suppose Pat is looking for warmer weather, good luck!

Nice one Lee!
Ok, Ok, since Andy threatens me again with banishment for peddling for beer money, here is the site you can get them direct.
Seems they will post direct to the UK for about 30-35 quid for the set to tickle your toolbox!

I did one on the club level(small group) that was similar yet different. As the Trialsmaster of a given event, one can do whatever he likes to break things up or entertain the riders here on that level.
Anyway, I simply set a three line trial with A,B, and C classes. the cards were simple white cards with arrows such as A->, B->, <-C on a card.
Which way do you think you need to go?
Actually they were A>
B>
<C
No colors, you need to walk the section.
Everytrhing worked fine untill one of my ADHD A-line riders rode into a section and got lost for a five.
The particular card just put <-B and <-C
The fight began when I said If B and C go left, which friggin way do you think your dumb ass is supposed to go?
It is still fun, and I would do it again. Using a combination of splits and gates along with natural boundries, little if any outside boundry tapes are required.

Thought you said your stator was going anyway?
Lineaway did it with the dremel, on another thought, one of them vibrating multi tools with the diamond cutter disc might just knock the edges right off?

I have lots of tools, not always the newest or finest as seems one does to be practicle about these things or you could easily drive yourself into bankrupcy! However, taking the average trials bike as example, there seems one thing that a proper trialsman simply cannot do without for a bit of kit, and that is a proper set of metric allen wrenches!
Yes I have a few, lets see, the standard individual set, the compact folding set that goes into the pocket of the camelbak, then the nice long set with the ball ends on the long side that stay in the portable toolbox. Suppose I could add the ones that fit screwdrivers and the ones that fit drive sockets, yet those are less used in a trials environment. All as just an example as to what one may find and use.
All point being, I seem to have come accross a new fav that some may find irrisistable if you are typical tool nut or ratchet head like me. Mind you these are not cheap, they are however well made and practical, and sized for a bumbag if need be.
I think I need to sell about a thousand sets of these to pay for my Scottish Beer Drinking Tour! Still working on that!
Anyway, ck these out! They have a pivotal joint and can reach most anything! Orders Taken!
Personalized laser engravement is available at extra cost! (your name) TC/MC Beer Blast SSDT 2010!
This is the hottest thing since Canned Tuna!

New set of rubber is ALWAYS good for the ego!

I have never been aware of an exact paint code for these. Does not seem to be published. Seems one needs to take a sample to the paint store and have it color matched.
Seems most proper automotive paint stores use an electronic device nowadays that can get near perfect match on most colors. I am not sure if they can then also cross that to the nearest coded standard.

Obviously you are still on the 315, a 4rt will make you cry on sparkies!
-
It is actually cold here as well, we may get more snow in Texas, temps dropping toward the weekend! I seen a small snowman still standind in the shade from Christmas eve yesterday!
Forecast for Saturdays trial start is about 18 F! Not good! What is that Mr 12.99 inch? - something! Screw that! Maybe the yard will freeze solid so I can get out!
-
Ok, first thoughts here, get to basics! You do need a good thermo switch! You can run the bike with the rad fully filled and cap off to ck for any iminant bubbles due to a leaky head seal. Fluid circulation(or lack of it) should be evident yet may be easier to see if the level was just above the cores to start. Then top it off and let it do its thing while watching. Continuous bubbles are not wanted. The level may vary a bit with the fan cycling, yet I would not expect much due to the low volume of the system. I would think that without excess engine load the thermo should be able to maintain temps at the setpoint of around 95-98C without cap or pressure. Not sure if you can get a thermo probe into it the ck against the switch for accuracy in the cycling of fan.
