You say it is bottoming out? Does it still have rebound dampening or is the spring just sagged out? If it acts like a pogo, there is no dampening.

So you are referring to a 6mm axle pinch bolt? And you must deal with the outer pinch section before you can actually get to the remaining bit? Was it siezed upon removal or was it still turning yet snapped upon tightening? Makes a difference. Either way, these can be tough, yet not impossible.

Fact is, I really do not know the best way to limit the power on the 4T! Limiting the throttle is one way, the 24 OKO will smooth it , but if anything like my 2.9 there is ultimatly still lots of power, only limits the very top. I kinda wish Bob would toy with the inlet restricter idea to see what happened down at about 19-20mm. I just wish the factory offered a 280cc cylinder and piston, as it is just not practicle to develop it in this market. The bike would be sweet!(for us lesser riders)

OMG you would not believe, this week it was the mexicans next door and the same thing except in the mud and this kid ad sunk the Caddy in the side yard up to the axles!! There was nothin to tie onto under this thing! And he wanted to tie into the trunk latch striker! I could have ripped the rear off the car, but made him crawl his dumb ass under the rear in the mud aand double wrap the strapto the rear suspension which was still weak! The big diesel tugged him out in one piece, yet I was wondering! Now my mexican next door's yard is wrecked by this idiot and it looks like ****! I did one on the club level(small group) that was similar yet different. As the Trialsmaster of a given event, one can do whatever he likes to break things up or entertain the riders here on that level. Anyway, I simply set a three line trial with A,B, and C classes. the cards were simple white cards with arrows such as A->, B->, <-C on a card. Which way do you think you need to go? Actually they were A> B> <C No colors, you need to walk the section. Everytrhing worked fine untill one of my ADHD A-line riders rode into a section and got lost for a five. The particular card just put <-B and <-C The fight began when I said If B and C go left, which friggin way do you think your dumb ass is supposed to go? It is still fun, and I would do it again. Using a combination of splits and gates along with natural boundries, little if any outside boundry tapes are required.

I have lots of tools, not always the newest or finest as seems one does to be practicle about these things or you could easily drive yourself into bankrupcy! However, taking the average trials bike as example, there seems one thing that a proper trialsman simply cannot do without for a bit of kit, and that is a proper set of metric allen wrenches! Yes I have a few, lets see, the standard individual set, the compact folding set that goes into the pocket of the camelbak, then the nice long set with the ball ends on the long side that stay in the portable toolbox. Suppose I could add the ones that fit screwdrivers and the ones that fit drive sockets, yet those are less used in a trials environment. All as just an example as to what one may find and use. All point being, I seem to have come accross a new fav that some may find irrisistable if you are typical tool nut or ratchet head like me. Mind you these are not cheap, they are however well made and practical, and sized for a bumbag if need be. I have never been aware of an exact paint code for these. Does not seem to be published. Seems one needs to take a sample to the paint store and have it color matched. Seems most proper automotive paint stores use an electronic device nowadays that can get near perfect match on most colors. I am not sure if they can then also cross that to the nearest coded standard.

Ok, first thoughts here, get to basics! You do need a good thermo switch! You can run the bike with the rad fully filled and cap off to ck for any iminant bubbles due to a leaky head seal. Fluid circulation(or lack of it) should be evident yet may be easier to see if the level was just above the cores to start. Then top it off and let it do its thing while watching. Continuous bubbles are not wanted. The level may vary a bit with the fan cycling, yet I would not expect much due to the low volume of the system. I would think that without excess engine load the thermo should be able to maintain temps at the setpoint of around 95-98C without cap or pressure. Not sure if you can get a thermo probe into it the ck against the switch for accuracy in the cycling of fan. MC
