Ohio Endurocross
I was told today that Ryan got his foot broken in the EC! This may account for his poor finish! I wonder who punched him? Tireprints in the back for Pat? Bruised lung or kidney? That's what you get for playing this game, what did it pay? This is why I had to get out of MX in the '80's, Not me, just the out of control idiots!

Clearing Out An Exhaust
Gawd BS, you are adventurous! What to do with the old petrol? I think you can filter it through an old sock and still run it in the lawn mower!
-
Piston Slap?
Not to mention, even on a new bike there must be some clearance for things to move and operate properly! SOME noise is simply normal and acceptable! You really need to compare apples to apples to get a feel for things like this. Even some normal varience is possible in anything, any bike.

Hellufalot easier to clean your hands too! I would rather go riding, don't get nearly as dirty!

How Often Do You Change Your Spark Plug?
Those darned Monty plugs are expensive too! It is sort of a funny chain ov events, yet as I recall, the VX plug that was only used for a few trials came out of my '05 bike when I sold the bike and went into my '07 bike when I got it in about December '06 and is still in the bike. All plugs in a 2T seem to require a bit of special treatment to prevent them from fouling with gas and oil, but the VX platinum is more resistant to fouling than a standard plug, and if you keep it clean it will last with no problem. You need some heat in the motor and do some hard runs and occasionally rev the pee out of it to keep it clean, same for exhaust. I run them at .027-.028 reliably! I have a spare used VX that was in my '03 bike when I sold it in '05. Just an old beater for a pinch! I still have 2 new spares somewhere in my kit box I think.

Just Bought A 2007 3.2
You would want to ck the manuals at the sticky note on the top of the Sherco threads, the RYP site for the maint. tips. My brief experience on one suggests they will pull in any gear! Take your choice! Not the bike, just the avaibility of traction, as in certain situations, you simply have to maintain some momentum as with any!

Ohio Endurocross
In Patrick's defense, I can tell you that if he had felt up to it he would have ridden the TDN. It probably took a great toll in it's own respect to decline. He has enough common sense to know when is NOT the right time and place to attempt World Class sections that can challenge Bou and Raga! And as Kip wisely did not allow Ronnie to even attempt a few, if Pat was nil, then so be it as he was off for weeks. This is not a joy ride! Pat can ride from daylight till dark, resume practice and come back quickly, but he is not stupid ! M2C

Standing Start Technique Help Please!
I like his name on YouTube! Reminds me of myself! My neighbor accross the street has a large rock in his front similar to what Tombo is practicing on. You see, it is simple really, just like Bruce did it in the video! It is all about the timing! Holding brakes, loading the suspension, a rev of the motor with a quick pop of the clutch, oops I did not get off the brake in time, or rev enough, or compress enough! I'm screwed! Really! Neighbor is getting p****d about the holes in the grass! And YES you need this in a trial, specially when you CHOKE on a good step! Now you wheel is against it and you are screwed!

What Your View On Doug?
Someone needs to be there, if nothing else but to give the younger riders something to shoot for! Currently, there are only two at the top, Fajardo may be showing promise? Can the others hang in there?

Tuna Toss
I meant the cowchip contest, Jon. When is the great toss off? Langley/Disney is on the books, plans are for the wifey, dog and all to go and enjoy the weekend! Hope we have good weather! I will be on a strict limit of OK 3.2 beer!

See Jon, you are not alone. PA has a bit of tossing experience! When is the OK event? PA will eventually make his way down here I think!

Standing Start Technique Help Please!
Your suspension did not compress, which is the entire purpose of getting up and back to load it. You must come down on it before you go up. A bit more verticle surface may help as well, as when you are able to drive into it will get better action on front compression and helps load rear. Tire patch about axle height I think. Just a bit deeper motion with the legs. Work those quads! Clutch is full pop on this, be quick to stay with the bike!

Sherco 4t The Best Trials Bike Ive Ever Rode
No big deal on a gasser, the 2T rattles like hell too, so a few more valves and such will not make much difference! I figure it mostly because of the thin oil they must run due to the clutch setup. Fact is a Sherco rattles a lot on thin oil as well! Have seen it before!

I suppose this is for a 2T?

Ohio Endurocross
Pat may be able to resume his riding now, yet I doubt he is 100%, he probably needs to get out and ride. I also doubt he will beat his big brother, who likes to go fast! I also doubt any of them will beat Ryan! The "old man" will take you OUT! He is just nuts! Loves to go FAST! And BIG! We'll see!

Sherco 250, 2003 Piston Liners?
The actual liner is a hard plated surface. It can be redone and fitted to the piston if the piston is still good. Not sure why you would suddenly develop the deep grooves? Anyway, dependant upon where you are located, you may even be able to get an exchange set already done at less cost than new.
