  1. I have the same problem. I'll ride a section in an event and I will be so tense and tight that I forget to breath. I'll ride the same section later in practice and have no problem. I like the idea of taping reminders to the bar pad.
  2. Have you seen THIS video.
  3. Thats too bad. I was wondering what happened. That was a decent forum. If anyone is looking for a USA based forum go HERE. Theres an observed trials forum their with mostly New England stuff but others are welcomed.
  4. Yup...doing this made me a better rider too!
  5. Right now the WTC is scheduled April 26/27 2008. Dont know about the Nats.
  6. He's always welcomed HERE!
  7. Touching and heartbreaking video for sure. It reminds me of one done about the 9-11 atatcks that was set to the background music of Enya. I could only watch it once.
  8. Good tips about the brakes. My son has no problem with the front but the back gives him some difficulty. I will see what I can do now.
  9. Theres more info on that frame HERE. Good thread, pretty much tells the story from the frames infancy. I am sure that frame will be awesome. I have not ridden but have a friend who rode one in Rockport,MA. Said it was great. FTW knows how to build bikes too. You may have seen his other bikes SINISTER BIKES. I would sat that it would be a safe bet its a winner.
  10. Get the 08 Beta 4T so your friend can try it! If the only significant update to the 07 was the Keihin carb...you could get the 07 and change the Mikuni to the Keihin for short money and still have a money left over for beer! Which is good!
  11. Ouch...I resemble that remark!
  12. Hey John... My son gets about 4 hrs out of his bike. Yet hes only 3 and weighs about 34 lbs. The pot is set to only 2 or so. Did you ever get more run time out of the bike when it was new? Missed you this weekend, I only raced Sat. My son entered the Peewees on his OSET. He had a great time with Jack leading him around.
  13. My son at 3 years old (turned 3 in June) entered the PeeWee class this weekend on his OSET. It was his 1st event and he took home a 3rd place trophy and a HUGE smile! I wasnt going to enter him. We just brought his bike so he could ride while I competed. The coordinator of the youth program saw him and suggested that he give it a go, my wife agreed so I said ok. Glad I did. Great bikes...He has had his since his birthday in June and we have not had one problem yet. The charge lasts at least 4 hrs for him. My guess is that theres 60 hrs on the bike. He rides about 2 hrs a day.

    Anyone Know

    Where are you from?
  16. I think Sams advice is good. I have ridden a MOD trials bike and man it was tough...to the point of no fun. The P1 is not a bad idea...little heavy but it not a bad bike for the budget. Stock trials bikes are a lot more fun. Riding them in general is a lot easier. I ride a custom bike...well kind of. Its a British made 24" DMR equipt for trials. Rigid fork, disc brakes front,Magura Hydraulic Grippers rear, its a nice spot in between mod and stock. I think this is where your P1 would fit. You'd be happy I think...It would be more multi purpose with a few component change outs.
  17. I am looking for info to help setup a Youth Trials Program, both competitive and fun. In the US where I am from the youth program has some difficulty with Club rules and local government age restrictions. It really lacks IMO. What I am looking for in particular is how some youth programs are setup so we may use it as a model to setup our own. Ages and competition info would also be helpful. It seems in Europe in particular the UK where Trials is most popular that there must be some great Youth programs. Any ideas?
  18. I understood you fine Dougie....Seems to be a lot of sensitive people around....actually thats a bad choice of words. Its difficult to translate the feeling of the written word at times on forums like this. No biggie! The US has its own Pro series with the NATC. The USA trials riders take a back seat here as far as exposure and support goes. The AMA supports MX and Road Racing pretty well but offroad racers and trials get next to nothing as far as I know. It does seem to be getting better. With Pat Smage making an impact at the World level in the youth class it should get better. Also the NATC just started a youth program and a 125 cc class. I dont know exactly how its structured but this also should help potential World riders from the US. In the US MX is promoted pretty well. Therefore a lot of young kids see it on TV and then tell Dad that they wanna try that. I have yet to see any trials on TV. Also, the series I ride the events are as far away as 6 hours. Where I hear in places like the UK you can stand anywhere and be within a few miles of an event.
  19. That bug looks like something out of the new Transformers movie....
  20. Fine...agreed! Back on topic. How about that Pat Smage. That kids got some serious talent. I really hope that he gets some support both now and future to continue copmeteing against the best.
  21. motofire, do you see any difference between the two statements "The editor seemed mildly interested" and "your publication holds little interest"? If not, then yeah, you really aren't getting it. Thanks for writing the letter though, it probably lit a fire under her and she now knows that this is bigger than just little Elkhorn, WI. Oh yeah I see the light now....LOL, I guess it was a little aggressive. I dropped out of my creative writing class for a reason.
  22. Im not really getting it. I thought my quick letter was pretty good.
