  1. What an awesome event yet again! Watching all the kids is fun in itself. Ty seemed so serious, The carolines amazing to watch. The mizells will need a class of their own....it's unfair to the other kids if they train together. All were as polite and nice as could be. It was difficult for aaron moving to a bigger bike and a much harder line. He struggled but rode anyway. I liked the way the sections were laid out, it was perfect! Having all levels on the same loop is great for the younger riders. It was relatively easy for spectators to keep up as well. I think the loop can be an effective learning tool for up and coming riders, without the pressure of ribbon. I would like to thank all of the people who donated their time to work the event. I saw lots of people pitch in and help to keep things running smoothly. Catherine, Dan, Bruce, Alex, Blane, Ryan, Brad And everyone whose name I can't remember, Thank You!
  2. I asked Dan last week about the world round, and he said it was a go. It would be great to see the US riders riding the world rounds.
  3. Patrick, Do Hawkstone, find a plane ticket to cali, you can do both! Good Luck!
  4. I want to see the kind of trials bike a mind like that could produce. Maybe he would work for one day to improve what we have.
  5. Zippy, I feel an artery closing just thinking of that breakfast! Ah the good old days! A few stents should remove that from your diet. If I eat anything greasy before a day of "Putting Out", I taste it all day. My son does it, but he has 11 year old arteries. Did you ride TN? I scored section 3 on sunday, what class do you ride?
  6. I use E-Caps performance supplements. I use their Race caps and the endurolyte capsules. I take 2 race caps and one endurolyte cap one hour before the event, with lots of water. I wear a camelbak and drink water constantly around the loop. I take 2 more race caps and and endurolyte before I start the next loop. I usually have to pee on every loop. I am rarely sore the next day. Staying hydrated is one of the most important things you cand do. And replacing the minerals you are sweating out is equally as important.
  7. Craig, That was a scary fall, but funny after you got up. The shirt is positively Patrick! I noticed it saturday and wondered if that was Ryans sense of humor. Saturday I rode the mav tv guys around to film. So I got to see alot of the pro action. All have amazing skills! Then sunday I checked section 3. It had three big rock climbs, very cool with front row seats.
  8. Any two stroke can run in either direction. A diode can be placed in line to the coil wich would only allow voltage in one direction. Honda used them on MR's.
  9. Section 9 was at Bilboa Falls. No water but in where the falls would be. Big rollers up and around back down in a hole. A steep face out with no run, to a right handed double step rock with a drop to the right. Sort of. Then a big face out. I drove a TV crew around all day, I didn't see anyone come out. I saw some really good attempts. Cody made it to the last face on his first attempt. Patrick hung the ribbon on the right handed right hand step. Chris Florin looked amazing all day.
  10. I wonder if Tady could make more money racing offroad? He beat an impressive list of riders.
  11. I think you look more like Gerritt Wolsink. Wow, I'd really like to ride there, bit of a drive though!
  12. Very cool! My son Aaron is jealous....of the stunt trailer!

    Knock

The knock can be the result of combustion chamber design. The head can be reshaped to run knock free on whatever grade fuel you are running. Here is a website that can provide software to help make those calculations. Tom Turners Two Stroke Racing Most race fuels burn at a slower rate, so less knocking.
  14. Tom, You make it sound like a "Must Ride". I think as soon as I learn a few more skills , I'll ride.... I mean attempt to ride. I have family living in scotland. Would it be of any value to spectate?
  15. Turn the bars so that the master cylinder is uphill from the hose(slightly). With the cover off the resevoir tap the brake lever so as to just move it a little. Watch for air bubbles out of the holes feeding the piston. Tapping the line can also help the air move up and out. This method is subtle but works quickly. Another method is attach a hose the the caliper bleed screw and run it to a container. With the cap off open the bleeder screw about 1/4 to 1/3 turn. Then smoothly pump in steady strokes and watch the fluid coming out of the (clear) line. Some times you can pump fluid through like this in a steady stream and it will remove the trapped air. When complete hold the lever in and close the bleeder screw qiuckly. This is the method we use to change the fluid.
  16. It's nice to have experts on the other side of the pond, willing to put down the daily mirror long enough to let us know what we are watching on tv(the telly).
  17. Jimbo, I to have only recently(2 years) "discovered" trials. I have heard lots of motorcycle sports called "family oriented". But trials is truly that. I had my 9 year old( a very small 9) start on a sherco 50. They both survived and he is now riding a beta 80. The crew at the TTC put my son and I both on an accellerated learning curve the day before our first event, the 05 58k at the TTC. I guess that is why I like trials so much, you have to study the riding techniques and practice practice practice! My son has ridden mx and hare scrambles, but he is excited about riding trials. Me too!

    Fantic 301

Jimbo, I wuz listening to your bike this weekend and I thought it sounded remarkably quiet and smooth. I did see you on the sawmill creek rd with a fouled plug (I thought).
  19. Not only will it be hard to set pressure, but difficult to get both the same. I too would recomend using oil level to make the fork progressively stiffer. If you insist on using air, go to a bicycle shop and buy a pump mountain bike shocks, it will make it easier to set pressure. Also if you could link both sides together it would help.
  20. Whew! That was almost painfull! I wonder if I could tear a Stent out laughing hard?
  21. Thats what I was thinking 327. Skip the nats and camp out in europe. I'll match your forty, but would need a Team Smadge address.
  22. Generally speaking the porcelain at the tip reflects the low speed mixture, and deep inside is high speed. Plug heat range and compression all affect burn rates.
  23. Zippy, I totally agree! Maybe a no minder rule! I guess that isn't gonna happen. I think it amusing the ability to see through the rules, come up with that "thing " they didn't think of when making the rule. Whats that called? Oh yeah, The law of unintended consequences. It's racing business as usual. We would all push the edge of one rule or another, if we were in that position. I would..... of course not officially. Luckily we all have the correct opinion. And it isn't cheating until it's ruled cheating, and a rule is changed or clarified.
