  1. Screw fully in ie clockwise and then out = anticlockwise Cheers
  2. Aaron Sounds like you've got the bug - I knew I could rely on good old Trials Central to get you the info you needed. Have Fun ta James
  3. having bought my 4rt from Sandifords the trick of snapping the throttle and kill button to help if bike does not start straight away and if no joy then a subsequent slow kick was what I was told by them. Finds it works for me whatever the theory. (capacitor info also from Sandifords as was the info of a too low tick over not being enough to keep electrical system fully charged) I was also told by a spectator in SSDT 2008 that too low a tick over can have an adverse effect on top end lubrication????.
  4. See if bike starts better with a quick flick of the throttle and then a press on the kill button. (no slow kick) If it need the slow kick all the time sounds like the the system is loosing its stored electrical energy which it needs to fire up the injection system.
  5. check each tyre 3 or 4 times in succession to get a steady reading. Don't just go on first reading
  6. For adult rider on Michelin's would suggest 4 psi rear, front 5.5psi Get good quality low pressure gauge. If weather warms up check a few times as can easily rise 1/2 psi
  7. That was the point I was trying to make. Is somebody going to get seriuosly hurt someday soon. PS I don't mind what rules we ride to - latest stop permited makes it easier to observe I feel.
  8. A couple of nasty crashes but it it shows that when there is grip available the only way to take marks is to virtually knock riders off bikes. Bit like indoors. Makes me concerned that soon somebody is going to have a really nasty one with longterm implications. Not wanting to knock Graham or anybody with the balls to put on a WTC but it looks more like a circus than a trial. Maybe that is WTC today. Maybe that what C of Cs think they need to put on. Maybe time to go back to mud and slippery traditional stuff that the riders don't like but takes marks.
  9. Having been involved in this for the last few years this has been a cracking few days of training and coaching for motorcycle trials and all enjoy the event. Book early to avoid disappointment
  10. My 2005 came with 315 master cyl and 06 plates but I changed a mates to a 315 M/c and also 06 plates made a lot of diference (atf oil). The 08 bike should have the better plates so just the M/C to change. This alters the ratio of master cyl to slave cyl movement hence giving the improvement. The higher tickover of the 4rt can compound the clutch issue especially with the high std gearing. I like the higer gearing so have left mine. You need to try and ride the bike different from a 2 stroke so use of the clutch should be minimal - only for tight turns and stopping etc. I found that it is better to let the clutch fully engage then bring on the power and ride on the throttle, not slip the clutch with lots revs as you would on a 2 stroke. Seems to grip much better that way using the torque of the engine.
  11. 315 master cylinder definitely a good mod 2006 clutch plates should work well with ATF or the elf oil. Try and ride the bike with as little use of clutch as possible -much better to roll on and off the throttle. Don't use the 2 stroke technique of nipping the clutch to get drive -the 4rt will just spin
  12. jokerr -have you had chance to try any changes. Would be interested to know what you find
  13. Is this a feature with later 4rts. I have removed lighting etc on 2005 model without relocation of fan relays. 315 and 4rt wiring looms used to be so easy to disconnect lighting as could just unplug extra wiring and re plug together the 2 ends of the loom
  14. Also check your suspension settings. I am 13 stone and this was settings on the bike from Sandifords and feels spot on rear 6 clicks out - spring quiet soft Front N/S fork full down on blue allen socket then 6.5 turns out O/S fork 10 clicks out. Set up my mates with this and he feels its much better
  15. Having read a few of the riders comments that have been posted it seems there were a few riders out of sorts, not sure if it was a hangover from the first round of the world champs, too many easter eggs, the weather or some of the more traditional section with mud in them. Seems strange for several riders to be off form.
  16. When I first changed from 315 to 4rt had problem with front slipping, I think it is due to the greater engine braking on 4 stroke, with 2 stoke you can roll the throttle off very quickly on desents or slippy stream with no adverse effect but with the 4rt this is like dabbing the rear brake which can transfer weight to the front wheel causing it to slip if not on perfect ground. Try and be smooth on the roll off of the throtle or keep a little power on. 4rt could also be heavier on the front end compared to the Beta compounding this issue
  17. I have to agree that Michael and James are in a different league - Micheal commented at the presentation that he wished there were a few more harder sections -possibly to give him chance to pull his 5 marks back off Dibs but if the sections where any harder they would have had the remainder of the entry upside down even more than they where. James and Micheal where nearly 40 marks better than the rest and the rest are pretty dam good. Micheal was by far the better rider today but costly marks in section 1 and 3 on his 2nd lap added 8 to his score that he could not pull back. Don't know what he had at 1/2 time but it didn't suit. His ride on section 5 second lap where he jumped the last step was awesome!!! Ross also looked really good today but scores didn't seem to reflect this.
  18. Some cracking photos - trust you enjoyed the event
  19. Thanks Atom, all seemed to go spot on today
  20. 40 odd of the 55 riders turned up for todays practice for Sundays British Champ Round 3 - The St Davids Trial held by Neath MCC. The drying course seemed to offer challenges to all without taking huge numbers of marks, something aimed for and asked for by the ACU. A few minor adjustments should see tomorrow offer up 15 tricky sections covered twice. Forecast is good so if at a loose end venture down to the outskirts of Neath for what will be a cracking BTC event.
  21. Standard systems have to be good but can you really mark a trial with 5 classes and make everybody happy. Well impressed if that can be done without making easy course almost main road and harder route very tight and trick. Does a traditional venue and trial cope with this a mount of variation in skill levels
  22. I think this may of been changed for Adult BTC after the trials BTC forum discussion
  23. ok for any trial where minders are allowed. ie BTC
  24. Full entry of 55 riders for St Davids and that is with a few of the better riders not entering. Its nice to see something coming off as planned. Just need to make sure we cater for all 3 groups on the day and hope the weather holds out. Full list of riders posted in trials review forum.
