St Davids Btc - Entries
Venue is much more traditional than Morlais and B route will be of a good traditional style national standard - well as good as you can get on a mulitlap course. Nothing silly big but loose and slippy. Come and enjoy

Anybody fancy an entry for the St Davids BTC in 2weeks please contact Graham. Expert B route will be sensible, Experts A a little tougher and the champ boys can do there own thing. New venue so unfortunately we don't have the big rocks to throw you up/off so nows the year if you fancy a ride! Single And Twin Map Compatability
Cheers Fantic Just for info Had 05 with Sains map for 3 years - did me really well and local boys who tried it thought better than a std map Just got a 09 with dual PTB evidently set with the "Mild and Wild" combination. I have to say after first week of riding 2 maps coud be termed flat and c**p. Looking at typical profiles the sains maps is very progressive - the so called wild typically has spikes and peaks which can only confuse your right hand. Will be interesting once I get 07 software and upload and download. Anybody elses input welcome

Single And Twin Map Compatability
What software is needed to download to twin map PTB. Does this need to be the 07 software or will 05 software and a converted file work. Does the the correct software have to be purchased through dealer or copies available to download I have aquired 05 leads and software. What is best adapter to go from USB to the serial port on the Honda interface leads Any info appreciated

Best Waterproof Socks
Have tried all sorts of boots and socks but what is wrong with wet feet. Just get in there and save some marks by finding out what is beneath the water. Nothing works 100% so just admit it and get in there. Diving suits are mainly wet suits -clue in the name. Nuff said PS oldish git who has ridden many trials but also a bit tight

Single And Twin Map Compatability
Finally got round to getting a mate to copy my Laia Sains single map out of my PTB. Would like to now put this into friends twin map PTB. Is this map compatible. Are the early leads and original software compatible If not can it be changed - ie file name etc Or will it need to be rewritten in a new format. I think this may have been asked before but didn't turn up much in searches I have tried. Thanks

Dougie's Monday Problem
should have stuck with the fat old Monts - Scott and SSDT win out the window on these modern 2 strokes!!! Best of luck to Doug for the last day and agree that it shows real determination and not being afraid of being beaten to keep going. Easy choice just to stop. Who knows what may happen -Brownies 5 marks for bike not starting shows anything is possible. Nice to see Caby struggling a bit - shows us Brits can ride proper trials still.

2004 315
Had several 315s and now a 4rt -can't beat Honda quality. Always have found memories of the 315 - rode my last one in 2006 SSDT and was still competeitive - don't think bikes have changed much since then. My mate has kept a couple of his for sentimental reasons and when he pulls one out they go like new. The 04s where paticularily nice with the white plastics. I have been tempted to get a cheap late one and slot it into the 4rt chasis just to see what Honda should/could of done if they had kept both 2t and 4t options open. happy buying

Who Will Be First Rider To Take The Title From Bou?
I think its easy to mix up hard with big when it comes to sections. Often the trickier, slippery stuff takes more marks than the huge steps that favour the very top boys

Easy Events
I guess neither was right. Who would be a clerk of the course or organising club?? Majority of which is done by volounteers. Where was the FIMs technical representative on this. Maybe time to stop the officials and stewards expenses and put more money into technical help and advice!!!!!!!!

Tlr 200 Footrest Position Help
I cut the original brackets off mine which revealed a hole through the frame. I used this as the centre point for the mounting bracket of the new foot rest - I bolted and weleded new brackets on using this hole for the bolt to go through. (if you look behind existing hangers you can see this hole) Then fitted Mont 315 footrests as I had spares. I think aprox 1 " down and 1" back. Not sure if this is optimum but felt lots better and was easist option You can buy footrests that give same effect that use existing factory mounts

New Motor Break In
On a similar theme I was advised to run a new piston and rings in using a lower quality mineral 2 stroke oil as moden synthetic 2 stroke oil is so good no break in of piston to bore can take place effectively.

Montesa 4rt 2005/2007 Difference?
09 definately very smooth. I have Sainz map in my 05 which makes it soft off the bottom end but compared to an 09 feels very sharp.

Montesa 4rt 2005/2007 Difference?

Changes To Wtc Rules
Unless the observer calls in the riders in order Mr Bou will probably still hang around and then ride last few section flat out!!! I assume only timed back in at end of lap. Maybe he can't walk the section and will only have 60 secs in the section so will probaly sit under a brolley out of sight with big coat on until he is ready to ride - cracking spectator viewing. Watching the top boys plan their lines was/is part of the interest in watching the top boys perform.

Tyre Presures?
Modern bike, modern tyres, normal body weight -4psi rear - 5.5 psi front. Drop rear for very soft and muddy going or if riding easier routes. Check pressures if change in temps - ie cold night - sunny morning. Tyres can gain 1 psi easily in theses conditiions. Don't park bike in the sun before checking - black tyres absorb a lot of heat energy if left in the sun.

Is There Still Any Love For The 4rt?
"Finished trial put bike back on trailer had cup of tea and bar of chocolate. watched several other folk limp back in with broken bikes (non of which were 4RTs). went home washed bike had tea and went out for half a gallon of beer." Bl---dy Wuss Got to have a gallon of beer at least. Ps maybe you need to try a technical request on how to attached a tax disc to 4rt

Is There Still Any Love For The 4rt?
Have to admit Woody some conditions they really do struggle - too much torgue at very low revs I belive. But for maybe 4 or 5 section per year that dont suit I ride hundreds that benefit from the suspension and torque of the 4rt motor and given half a chance at a blast across a bit of moor or open ground makes you a real hooligan as the speed and handling are a real blast. I found you have to leave the clutch alone to get grip, roll on the power then be as aggresive as you like with the throttle and it will grip and drive, just keep your weight over the back end to keep it gripping.
