  1. This will probably surprise a few but i agree too. Be interesting how many "eligable" bike there are but good luck to you
  2. Was titanium only in existence after 1964 then? I seem to remember lightweight tubing a la Reynolds 531 etc also available but obviously i am mistaken ?
  3. Firstly BJ i have no problem with Scotland love the place actually but i dont profess to worship at the holy grail of the Scottish "pre65" two day or think the sun comes out every time the suits at the ACU bend over. I also agree with most though not ALL of the comments made. My perspective is from the point of trying to keep a club going that is pretty close to going under due to lack of entries and the overwhelming amount of red tape being deposited from a great height by the dons at the governing body. The ACU seem to want to use a very broad brush in applying rules and regulations that may be essential in other branches of the sport that they control by may be of dubious importance at a Club trial which is ALL i am concerned with. The other point i would like to make although i am sure i will get flammed by the previous posters for it is why can i ride at events organised by local clubs who are affiliated to the AMCA where a licence is not even required and NOBODY gets this amount of hassle god forbid a fine!!. They actually get this even welcome new riders now that makes a change? Lets not forget according the the rule book if a potential new rider turns up i am first supposed to get him to fill in a licence application form and donate
  4. Period aluminium swing arms are a bit late arriving so wont be available till January 1965. Bother
  5. Dont get this "too loud" does it work i.e. perform or not? just a question cos i've had two TY's with WES exhausts fitted and they werent "too loud" well not to me anyway. Subjective i know unless you are saying that you've failed an ACU noise test. Just that i've heard, no bad pun intended, this same comment a lot lately. Never used to hear the "too loud" comment back in the good old days. We were more concerned then in does it improve performance or not? Any idea how big an exhaust would need to be to make a bike quiet? Well put it this way you would never ride it competitively. Just musing.
  6. Hi Sorry you're too late sold them last night on E bay.
  7. ? strange i always thought the TY175 forks were 32mm dia 28mm does sound incredibly small are you sure ? plus TY250 twinshock forks are 34mm dia not 35mm unless you mean TY250 mono forks but they are 36mm dia so im a bit confused what forks you had fitted. Are you sure they were std TY forks?
  8. True i think i heard there were only a couple of entries received however i think the overiding reason was the untimely and sad death of Linda Crabtree.
  9. OOOPS!! sorry just showing my ignorance of Bultaco models. Was toying with the idea of changeing the forks yokes for later ones as i have a good set of early MAR fork legs in the garage and i believe the tubes fit the Bultaco Betor sliders. Dont like the taper forks or their yokes plus they need rechroming and i do have good non taper ones anyway. Do feel like doing something with the footrests as they just dont feel right. Also the wheels do look a bit heavy so as later ones are fairly freely available might be worth it? As for Midland Classic events they arent in the picture for me i'm afraid as due to "political" reasons i'm not really welcome there. Just Dales and Peak Classic where all twinshocks and me are welcome Just took the bike in as a swap and always fancied one since my first one all those years ago. As i said earlier though just really fancy replacing the Homerlite tank and seat with a proper slimline one but what with the current fibreglass problems it's not looking promising. Suppose my problem is underneath it all i think i like fiddle bikes but they have to at least not look like one if you know what i mean ?
  10. I've got a good used pair of about 8" rise Renthals on the Model 80 which i cant get on with. Too high for me. So they must have made higher rise ones back in the dark old days when the world was in black and white.
  11. The Peak Classic Trials Club held round 6 of their Club Championship at Carson
  12. Just aquired a model 80 which i confess i dont know much about but it's clean enough so any piccys of what one should look like? In my ignorance i assumed it would have a slimline tank and seat but err it hasnt. On a totally different subject you all know what i'm like and if i decide to use it, doubtful but still possible, what mods should i do? Dont really fancy choping the frame but just wondered if anybody had any ideas that arent irreversable?
  13. Just a reminder that the Peak Classic Trials Club will be holding Round 6 of their club championship at Carsons Farm on the A5012 Cromford to Buxton road just along from Grange Mill near Matlock this Sunday 24th. It would be nice to see a good turn out after all the work put in by Paul and Donna and lets not forget the course setters. Please please please bring along an observer if at all possible or if you fancy coming along and observing please do, there will be a small reward for you if you do. As usual 3 routes for Expert, Intermediate and Clubman / Novice and classes for British Bike, Twinshock and Pre 95 Air Cooled Monos. Also as usual the PB Trialsport van will be there for all your spare parts etc. Hopefully see you there. Start time 11.00am entries close 15mins before the start.
  14. Thank goodness for a reply in English. The original post gave me a headach trying to translate it Sorry Bondy
  15. Sadly discs on more than one three in fact a TLR a Fantic and sadly a Bultaco. Shame on you !
  16. When the market gets desperate enough and the supply dries up i am sure an enterprising person will "find" or remanufacture but only when they can charge a LOT of money for them. As an example i know of people who have sheds full of Bantam bits that they wont sell at the moment for love nor money and i am sure C15 and B40 bits are no different plus when you take into account the ex army stuff that was exported, look at the amount of ex French forces cubs now finally being offered for sale, i am sure at some point when the price is right the Pandoras box will open. Example is there are more Manx Nortons racing now than Norton ever made. Everything is available to those who can afford it.
  17. LOL Charlie i'm sure you penned this sometime in the past, if you didnt you should have, and i love it "pre65 ? well the ore it was made from is so it must be" Dont worry about the supply of NOS parts i bet a secret hoarde will be found at some point.
  18. Thats a pre 65 Honda part of course Charlie just in case the Pre65 police are watching
