Hi..cheers both....yep, on further inspection, and a test drive, I have been told that the MIDI was a piece of poo....so for now, I/We'll have to keep looking.
Cheers guys
-
Not sure how much they are in UK, but a mate of mine just fitted one to his 2.9 Sherco here, and the difference is amazing....to be honest though..for ME>.(I aint that good) ...it almost feels too powefull....generally, money well spent though I would say.

Hi all,
Am looking (or a friend is) to find a van in UK for my eminent return..and baptism to UK trials....(look out...I'll be the one crashing alot)
ANYWAY...he's sourced a Vauxhall Midi....1998 diesel, at what seems to be a fair deal..so I just wondered if anyone has any experience of these, good or bad, please let me know.
both trials related use and any other advice/comments are greatly appreciated.

COOL...bistlu...a rider in Hereford!!..I dont believe it!
My folks live there, and I will be visiting them more often soon....so i hope you can let me know what comps. etc are happening there. would love to join in!
Good luck with the Majesty...nice bikes..hope you find a good 'un
-
Yes the bash plate is a real sh***** on the Rev3...its amazing how that can be the slowest bit in the whole job you mention neon!!...surely Beta could make that a bit easier eh?!
-
You'll probably think me a t*** for saying the obvious Marky, but is your float bowl screwed down really well?...mine seems to have to be screwed down REALLY well, else it leaks....mind you, I probably need a new gasket on it. ...good luck...
-
Very good kinky boots (I'm still wondering how you got that name!!)...and in alot of ways, I agree with you...but out here in HK there's not much choice...well ..I guess there is, but the bike shops a long way from the trials place..anyway...I might just go to the shop next time too!!!
-
sorry I know basically NOTHING that can help you big wheeler...but I;m sure you'll get some good advice soon though..
but one thing I did wonder, is ..on the main jet there is a rubber O ring???...I think most carbs have that??...apparently if that is perished/damaged, it can really mess up the performance....might be another thing you can check??...good luck!!
How about some piccies of the bike??...would love to see them!
-
hi hoodie..
mate of mine, did a trials display in Taiwan last weekend...check out r2wtrials.com for info.
Anyway...OKO carbs are made there, so I asked him to find out about them...apparently they are VERY cheap there...but even the local riders there dont use them....so...doesnt look promising....BUT...if it was me, I'd still try them..due to the VERY reasonable price.
Sorry dont know who stocks them in UK..

OK...now I've gotta disagree with you TOrdi!!!!!!!!!
Having thought that all my xmas' had come at once on reading your post, I then (last week) tried your advice.
All that happened to me, is that on filling the inner of the bearing with a socket and tapping....well...basically it just flatened/damaged the lip on the inner spacer...which didnt go too bad thankfully, because it would be troublesome for the axle to run through it.
SO...I went back to the old method, and THIS time,
cut a small hole in one end of the inner spacer, so on the next go, I can get a punch behind it
If it works for you thats great, because in principal I loved your idea...
maybe you can tell me if you think I did something wrong....or maybe my inner spacer was a special soft one for the extra special riders
-
Good story Gaz ...........and yep...I agree...bring back Kickstart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Maybe better I'm not there then Spud....cant even drink shandy these days.
Miss the drinking, but I've got no choice now...lemonades only for me
Hope you have fun....watch out for that paint stripper...and any other strippers ahem..!
See you all next year....DEFINATELY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Thanks Tinde....thats a help.
trials in Finland eh!...I bet thats good....beautifull country from what I've seen
-
HI all...
sorry if this has been done before...I know..I should do a search....anyway.
Does anyone know what the ORIGINAL gearing is for an 03 Rev3 270
I know for an 02 it was 42 rear and 11 front....but dont know about the 03 270
Thanks for any help.

If they do Neils on WHeels, be sure to take a VERY noisy one, and let it loose in the TC tent, to wake up all those with a hangover...
Aww man...am I the only one desperately wishing i was there!!!!!!!!
Seems like no news on here yet...surely somethings happened by now...even if r2w is already drunk on Scrumpy it would be something to know about.
-
Sounds like a good idea to me!
Hope you'll let me have a go on it....IF they make one.
-
spike ....I leave the rear brake as it is.
ALSO..if you look on ebay now...just type in Beta or gas gas or something, someone is selling a piston repair kit...but it now price is about 12.00 pounds...and yep..as jjwhite says,,,it INCLUDES the pistons!!!!
Not bad for 12 quid eh?
-
TOO right....just wish I could get Central TV out here....
boo-hoo...I'm missing all the fun again!!!!!!!!!
-
THINK there's a link to it, on the front page?
-
MIne on my 03 Beta also comes loose regularly, so I have a small line painted on the nut, and on the top yolk, so as soon as it starts coming loose I notice it, and tighten it sooner than later.
Another one of my brilliant ideas...hee-hee
THanks for the tip though...maybe I'll order a new one too , to see if it sorts it.
-
Dont THINK you normally get new pistons in a repair "kit" but I THINK they're not too expensive.
Sorry no tips for changing the seals, but for bleeding..I always do the reverse bleeding....its done in seconds and is perfect every time.
Attach a big syringe...(maybe with a small piece of hose) to fit TIGHT over the nipple at the caliper, and push the brake fluid in from there.
THen any air in the system, naturally wants to go up anyway...when the reservoir is at the level you want, simply tighten the nipple, remove the syringe, and put lid back on reservoir...easy!
-
Just tarting mine up too......ready for its debut in UK..trying to build a crate for it now..so will post some pics of it when its done.
New decals too!!....what a tart eh!
-
THINK the water pump seals were prone to "going" on the early SHercos...THINK the 2000 had a single seal and then '01 onwards had a double seal??
ANyway...I'll get me coat and shut up...leave it to more expert advice that you'll get soon.
Mate of mine has the same Sherco, and loves it..so I'm sure you'll be pleased with it.
Enjoy
-
i HOPE that means you bought it Marky!!!
I have the manual for my 250 2002, but, sorry I dont wanna part with it. But can always give you any info you want from it.
THere aint much in it though...more of a users guide really..just tells you ammounts of fluids etc etc.
Look forward to seeing you on the Rev3...you'll love it.
Get and order some of them rubber mounts for the mid exhaust though...they;re only a couple of quid..and I'm probably on my 5th or 6th already in two years
-
Aww..thanks Richy..thats great..will also have to give Stevens a call soon...sounds like they've got a good few bits for the Gorilia
tried to PM you but didnt work, will try again soon
