  1. gasserboy...how did you get on??..cant remember your proper name! ...well done to Bikespace though...saw his name on the results
  2. forgive me for saying it, since I dont even live there, but sounds to me like that venue gets talked about SO much that if it aint legal, it wont be long till there's a problem, or a bunch of MXers ripping it up!!! I'm pretty sure that Berkhamsted club have their own practise site, which if you join the club, I imagine you can use.......good luck
  3. The kickstart is 10 quid, and it comes free with a knackered Mikuni carb! (only kidding Marky) Thanks for your excellent pics ..please let us know how it performs afterwards..I'd like to try it myself, and might well do that, just that I think I'm not steady enough with the drill...we'll see,,or maybe I'll still splash out on the Dellorto??
  4. Yeah...hrc1.......please have another try with it, and let us all know...I'm getting close to thinking of splashing out on one!
  5. RedVanMan...SO..IF!! you dont want your dual seat, and would prefer a single..let me know, and I'll do you a swap/part exchange!
  6. Oooh..I'd LOVE to see Dougie back on a Beta..(not that I'm biased of course!!)..but I'm SURE Honda wont be letting him go just yet...after all..he's still the king of trials!
  7. Hi JOnB...when you say the seat can be changed for 150 quid...do you reckon thats only when buying a new van from a dealer...or would it be the same done on a used van??? might be looking for a dual seat soon
  8. Isnt he the ex Japanese champ or something??...from quite a few years back..not MUCh info I know, but pretty sure thats what the folks here told me. The riders here seem to have quite alot of Japanese videos/mags etc
  9. Aaaah...running perfectly...and Beta...words that go together...!!!!...thats why we love 'em!
  10. mmmm..interesting!..let us know how it works out after you've used it for a while?
  11. I agree Andy, it is VERY good to see such posts from John Collins. I also agree, its a shame no-one has responded yet. From my part I feel that I cant really respond yet since I have never done trials in the UK...BUT..you can be sure of my two-penneth worth in about a years time..by which time I'll hopefully have a better idea of how things work there On a similar note, I also hope those that can, will support the forthcoming forum, which I think is at ACU house??
  12. Depends on money right???!!!!?? if money is no problem, I would get the newest one you can!
  13. On a SLIGHTLY different note... if someone was just wanting to check their timing/adjust it??...is there a mark in there, showing you what the factory spec is?? I believe some bikes (Montesa) have a mark to show where the factory spec. timing is set
  14. NO...once you've removed the end exhaust, and LOOSTENED the mid exhaust, you should only need to undo the four small bolts that hold the airbox on and then remove it...(with a bit of wiggling)...the airbox that is..NOT you!!
  15. Thats a long way to go, just to avoid talking to me!!!!!! It was Andy Martin that suggested I do the trial on 30th..(I think!)..cant remember now....but if what you say is true, unfortunately I cant....AAAARRRGGGHHH....can I fake my age???...and no I dont have a twinshock...but I'll be desperate to do a trial...so I hope you're joking...I know nothing about UK trials really. (can I ride for no score if I'm only 33??) ANyway...HOPEFULLY be in Rushden from about mid October, (will let you know nearer the time) and would be happy to help you mark out, unless I suddenly get a job, which is doubtfull that soon. I dont suppose this really has much to do with a Vauxhall Midi does it!!!!! woops...hope I dont get told off for hijacking my own topic!
  16. Just discovered the same thing on mine too!!!!!!! flushed it out, replaces new coolant....and will let you know after the next ride, if it has come back again! I'm guessing it will and mayber there is a seal or something that needs replacing...although, you said bob, that you think the seal and pump shaft didnt fix it?? SO...come-on everyone...what is it??
  17. oooohhhh....ouch....MINE is house-trained ...so there!
  18. thats pretty good value...reckon I'll be sending my carb to JLI soon then. That SSDT prep stuff is a pretty good read eh Marky?..the only thing that dissapointed me on it, is I wanted to countersink the bolt on my rear calliper holder, (to allow the snail cam thingy to always point upwards)...this is what they suggest, but there dont seem to be enough room to countersink it if you ask me. Anyway..lets not get off topic...just mention it, 'cause its a good read for all Beta owners if you ask me. Hope you enjoy your drilling Mark...how about posting some pics of what you do????
  19. BOB...the way PA describes it above, is the best way to get the airbox off in my opinion. Its exactly the same as the way I do it.
  20. Thanks Dabster...will keep in touch on that one. Should be around about October time, so hoping to finalise something by then. HOPEFULLY will do Milton Buzzards trial on Oct.30th..will you be there??
  21. No..I guess not r2w..but I reckon you're such a nice bloke, (combined with you know I'm crap with spanners) that maybe you'll fix it for me!!!!!!!!
  22. Thanks richard, and charlie...yep, I'll weld that one up and keep it as a spare...and yep,..hopefully then, I'll never need it!!!!
  23. Thanks Carl... I reckon I might finally take the plunge.....sell the baby and wife, and go buy that Dellorto....lifes too short not to try new things eh!.....thanks for the info
  24. DOH!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......stupid me.,..the PWK IS a Keihin...still looks like that one on topfun has the adjustments on the wrong side though...well the choke at least??
