  1. I've used this plug with no problems whatsoever. I've got completely standard settings. No fouling. I clean the plug with a plug brush after every trial and change the plug every five trials.
  2. Phone lampkins. They are suprisingly cheaper than you think. The rear ones are the expensive ones
  3. I would do the same chassis maintenance as you would do with a two stroke. With the engine I change the oil and filter every two trials so probably every ten hours riding if you include a bit of practice. If you don't have a heat shield on the front pipe buy one as you will destroy your boots or jeans otherwise. DRC sell one for four stroke bikes and it fits perfectly. My plugs seem to last ages. Tappets, cam chain etc I havent had to do yet as the engine still sounds sweet as a nut. Hope this helps.
  4. I used a company called Tunstall Garden Services. They built me a lovely workshop for
  5. They are ok but run at 1-2psi as they are tougher. Seem to round off a bit quicker too. If you shop around on e bay you can get them very cheap if you buy two. I think they are good value for money.
  6. It is a vee rubber tyre which is suitable for both tube and tubeless. Wheel is brand new as is the valve. I bought a new wheel to keep the old one for practice. When I first fitted the tyre I pumped it up to 30psi just to make sure it stayed on the rim. When I checked it a week later it was still 30psi. Only when in use does it deflate. I would be suprised if it was a valve issue as it would leak when not in use too. I really am stumped !!!
  7. My new tyre and new wheel seems to lose pressure only when I ride. It holds it pressure perfectly and doesn't lose any pressure when left for a whole week but as soon as I start riding, it goes down to flat after the first lap. I bought a tube of doctor sludge and put that in the wheel as I thought it may be coming out of the spokes. But same thing again. Doesn't lose any pressure when not in use but went down to flat after one lap. Could it be a dented rim ? It is a brand new wheel but I am wondering if I dented it whilst finishing the lap with a flat tyre. It doesn't appear dented when inspected. Any advice would be appreciated. I fit my own tyres and it is definately on right.
  8. I echo what Stork says. Remove everything but also buy a single cable throttle cable which goes straight to the carb rather than splitting and going to the oil pump. It will make the throttle so much lighter and responsive. Enjoy the TY.
  9. I just sold an undented one on e bay. Sammy miller do lovely one piece seat and tank units
  10. Hi there Put 70mls of oil in for 5litres of petrol. This may sound a bit lean if your use to motocrossers but you don't tend to rev trial bikes like motocrossers. It certainly shouldn't sound as loud as a CR. Certainly worth looking at the packing. Phone lampkins as they sell pre-formed packing which you just pop in. Hope this helps. gareth
  11. Definately sounds like one of the jets. Clean out the pilot jet especially well. If you've got an air compressor blow it out with air from that. If you haven't you may have to resort to more crude methods like using a bit of wire. I know people may slate me for saying using a bit of wire but we don't all have fully equipped workshops at our disposal. go delicately as the bore on some of these jets are tiny. If after you have cleaned up the carb and it is still not running unless the choke is on then it may be the crankseals are sucking air in and need replacing. Make sure your airbox isn't clogged up too. let me know how you get on.
  12. They've tried to copy a mini majesty frame. Doesn't look that bad a job to be honest. I don't know whether the original mini majesty's had an altered steering angle though ?
  13. Buy it. I bought mine 3 months ago and it is great. Here are some points to look for. - Check that the hotstart mod is done. - Check that the kickstart mod has been done. The standard kickstart rubs the frame. - Buy a heat shield for the header pipe. - Usual crappy beta kill switch will need replacing. I bought mine and the kickstart mod hadn't been done. It meant a whole new kickstart and spindle. Cost nearly
  14. Just wanted to hear peoples thoughts on them before I go and order a whole outfit. Seems a good price is it good quality ? I've got big hands and was wondering if anybody has tried on the XXL glove size too ?
  15. Update. Bought a 2hp Wolf Air Compressor with a 24 litre tank. It came with an air line and a tyre inflator included. All for
  16. Thanks guys. You've saved me a job
  17. Hi there. Am planning to re-pack my rev 4 silencer. I've allways used the stringy loose type packing on my two strokes but this is the first time I've re-packed a four stroke silencer. Is the stringy loose stuff any good for 4 strokes ? Any thoughts ?
  18. Would like to get an air compressor to sit tubeless tyres on the rim. The guy in the garage across the road from me is sick of me using his. What size i.e. hp and cm3 air compressors are people using ? I realise that you need quite a whack of air to seat a tubless tyre. regards Gareth
  19. Thanks guys. It appears that mine must be fat bar type diameter. Those risers seem quite good. I will give them a go.
  20. I'm about to buy bar risers for my 08 Rev 4 as I am six feet 4. Are the standard bars the same diameter as 'fat bars' ? I've tried measuring them and they appear to be 28mm. I definately have the standard bars as they have beta written on them. Don't want to get the wrong diameter as the risers wont fit. Anybody know the diameter ? Gareth
  21. thanks guys. I will try dropping the triple clamps a few mm and see what happens. Quick job so it won't take aminute to put back if no improvement. It could just be the fourstroke effect which I need to get used too. Gaz
  22. I have recently bought an 08 rev 4. I had a 04 rev 3 for years and am use to riding Beta's. I can't help but notice that sometimes when I want to turn, the bike seems to carry on and the front wheel just slides. It seems to do it to a far greater extent than my Rev 3. Is this understeer or oversteer and is this caused by my fork hieght in the triple clamps ? I am sure it should grip more than this as I have an almost new front tyre, I'm not going too fast and I'm an average rider. The distance from the top of the triple clamp to the top of the fork leg (excluding the fork caps) is 4mm. Or is it simply the effect of a four stroke engine and the supspension is set up ok. The front forks are set pretty much in the middle in terms of hardness and rebound. Any advice much appreciated. gareth
  23. Hi guys. Thanks for all your advice. Did a mammoth internet search this evening and found this universal gaurd which i have ordered. It is a DRC Exhaust Heat Shield Protector. Google it and see what you think. Should fit nicely as the beta pipe is 28mm diameter. Only
  24. Hi there. Does anybody know where I can get hold of an exhaust gaurd for my front pipe of my four stroker. Both BVM and saunders have both sold them but now have no stock and sounded unlikely to get any more. Have searched all over the internet and no joy. It's bloody dangerous without one. May have to get the oxy acetelene gear out if I can't source one and braze on two nuts so that i can fix some type of gaurd to the pipe. Anybody got any ideas ? Would rather not weld / braze the pipe as the heat will damage it's protective coating.
  25. Give yamaha uk a ring. They are pretty helpfull if you have the engine and frame numbers.
