    Ty80

Hi I bought a TY80 with the engine ready stripped. I Just need it confirming that there are no crankcase gaskets available for them . Just seems a little strange to me to use silicone or gasket sealer from what I`ve been told.
  4. I hope Liverpool can win it, being a fan . There might be one or two suprises to get relegated this year.....Newcastle anyone ???????
  5. I thought Clipic made cheap introductory trials machines But I havent seen any around my area ....only for sale on the web. I have only bought used bikes and depending on the maintainance the previous owner/s have done reflects on the price ,and how much it will cost me in time and money to put right. First bike was a 98 Beta that was bought about 4/5 yrs ago but had not been looked after. So it was 3 yrs old and cost
  6. a new rear mudguard wanted aswel by the looks in that picture
  7. I saw a bike on eblag recently which stated in the description that it was a ty80 import because it had the ty80 engine in a ty50 frame and was for road use .It had a different seat and all the mirrors and lights with it aswel. It could have just been a ty50 and someone put an 80 engine in.....I`m not sure of the TY history to be honest so dont know all the different variations on the models they made here is a pic of it

    Montesa Lock

I`ve not long bought a 2003 mont ,and it came with all the lighting and a manual. It also came with some sort of locking device , after having a few garage breakins around here lately I wanted to make my bike a BIT more secure . It looks like the locking device needs to be screwed into something Anyone know how the damn thing works.

    First Mont

I`ve just bought a 2003 315 after having a 98 Techno for about 5 years so I may be posting in here from time to time now, instead of the beta forum.I still think the Techno is a great bike its just I thought it was time to get something newer, but just as reliable. A thing I like to do, as I did on the Beta ,is check all over to see where its been worn (not due to crashing) to see if I can prevent further wear in any way.My pet hate is the wear on the frame by the footpegs and on the swingarm, so I`ve ordered some of that carbon fibre lookalike sheeting to cover those areas (beta had plastic covers for swingarm)anyone else done this ? or used different stuff?? The only difficult thing I have found so far is switching the fuel petcock on and off,the choke isnt so bad.I have fitted the trick bit (cable tie) ,but still struggle to move it, but hey ho even montesa/honda cant be purfect. I`m off to test it tomorrow for a few hours ,but so far, after the 15 mins of riding in front of my house ,it feels really good ,I hope I stay with that opinion .
  13. How did you get on with your seals....one of mine has just started leaking. Was the Sherco manual on RYP any help. or did you get it done in a garage
  14. I run my bike on Ipone semi....and the recomended ratio is 50:1 like on the mixer at the top of the bottle, you can run your bike at 70/80:1 on fully synthetic only 50:1 = 4ltrs fuel requires 80ml of oil This is what I`ve been told by Lampkins and has worked well for me since I made the mistake of running 80:1 when I first got my Beta ,I came off and the bike was revving its nuts off for a really short amount of time but it was to late ....knackered cylinder hope this helps
  15. I`ve done it on my 98 Techno. I used a solid bar with a clean 90degree edge on it to gently persuade the bearings out ...took a bit of time doing it to save causing any damage ,as it was my first time Just kept hitting round the edge of the bearing rather than one or two places. Its really not difficult at all ,just depends on your mates maintainance as to whether they are corroded in solidly or not. regards N
  16. very interested to see your pictures HRC regards N
  17. I bought some cheap MB gloves from Asda ,that had padding in the palm.I found that they where a little uncomfortable with the padding ,so turned them inside out and carefully cut it out.I also carefully cut the flashy bits of plasticky logo stuff off aswel These gloves were about

I was arriving on the Saturday afternoon and there was a trial on the Sunday.....After being delayed a few hours ...problems with the room we were booked into ....problems with my credit card ....Blah Blah Blah .I didnt get to go see anything. I think my wife is a jinx.....When I try and organise a little excursion for myself it never seems to come off Kinell:-.....Is a 41 tooth Standard on the Rev 3`s back sprocket then, compared to a 42 on a Techno ???? Back Sprocket

Hi.just bought an new front and back sprocket for a 98 beta .....my old back sprocket had 43 teeth compared to 42 as stock. Question is there really much difference with 42 compared to 43. At the moment with 43 teeth I find that second gear is a bit to high for me, because i always seem to stall it . In 1st gear I seem to be revving very high.....I could just wait till I ride on sunday but...I wanna know now regards N
  21. I bought a "Fila"light waterproof jacket from my local sports discount shop for use "incase" it rained while on holiday, but for use on my bike as a second thought.I checked it out so that when in the riding position the slieves wouldnt be sliding up my arms and also wouldnt feel tight anywhere. It has vents aswel and Kept me dry 2 weeks ago when I used it for the first time in the rain It only cost about
  22. Isnt `Men and Motors doing it this year.???? I thought the hr long coverage was better than the half hr eurosport does S`pose they`re not doing another season of the `kickstart` programme they had on either regards Nick
  23. Just a thought..... Wont it mean that the more scored the disk ,after bedding the pads in,there will be more surface area in contact with each other resulting in better breaking thats what I`ve been telling myself for months its only a thought anyway..... regards N
