  1. we always used to set the 340 clutch to just slip a litlle in top gear and it was as light as you could get it. Watch the take up and make sure the lift is square this can be a fiddle but helps.as does adjusting the cable so it actuates over the tangent rather than working against the arc.
  2. Had the same thing in France at a four day where they had a time control in the town not at the last section which resulted in a "road race" but despite my best french (cse grade 4 I think) they didn't seem to think it mattered. Daft.
  3. not where you think thats for sure.
  4. frontera plates are pretty good. I'm sure its the meticulous prep that is the key. The clutches are easy to get right but take alot of time and trouble, with a few tricks, which are obvious when pointed out.
  5. I thought the queues would be better with no stop, was this not the case?
  6. or a few days ago here http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/index....showtopic=27378
  7. yes it is possible but sadly i think no one knows the actual details as well as Reg may did. If you wanted you could copy one or use the basic principles as a starting point.

if it costs x pounds to make a modern bike and they sell 3000 units a year, how much will it cost to make 100 units without water cooling and drum brakes? who would produce a bike with old technology on the off chance that there might be a demand? This really is fairytale land. here in england they have a "new" cotswold twinshock (cheat) bike with drum brakes and in the ten years that they have made them in various forms I think they may have sold a couple.

never know? Why would any factory bother making a twinshock machine? Even if the rules were changed (why) that would be 6/7 bikes per manufacturer at extra cost in the credit crunch. Or are you saying the fim will "impose such a daft rule" on the ACU and they will "impose" it on us and everyone will have to crush every monoshock? Ok lets say somehow it happened and we had two shocks on the rear. no linkage. In case you didn't know scorpa and up untill recently Beta had no linkage, so you bolt two of those( not to sure why you would need 2) on to the bikes and you have much the same thing, surely. so how would that revitalise the wtc? How would it facilitate one single more person, and who would suddenly be encouraged to ride?

  13. Doesnt that look like a sherco?
  14. I wouldn't limit yourself to such a small area. Yorkshire is only 3 hours away which for an aussie should be a short trip!
  15. The stem is easier if you use the new bonded type. Work away from the stem both ways, and don't try to stretch it to much. little by little and get the edges in with a bubble in the middle sometimes. With lube, i like weak soapy water.
  16. The conditions became almost impossible to see once a few riders had kicked up spray, is it always this bad?
  17. Could write a book and probably don't want to think how much time and effort has gone into it. You have a good question though which needs answering and I guess both our club and berkhamstead which isn't far away should knock something together as advice.to others. Think our case wa very specific so think it might not apply to others, but will speak to our secretary about this. No magic/short cuts sadly.
  18. Its easy enough, with practice. Think there is a how to on the sherco usa website.
