There is no "risk" in developing a new trials bike, 4t or 2t, it is simply a case (especially for the Japenese) of usually unjustifiable economics.
-
Dunlops are not too bad, apparently a few are using them, Dan Thorpe and steve Saunders I believe. I also heard a whisper, yes I know not like me to gossip, Dunlops are coming out with a new tyre soon, which should be better than a mitch!
-
recent inexperience more like!
-
Why is montesa the best factory team?
-
They didn't make that many either.
-
Of all the riders Dougie Fuji Shaun Morris Sam Graham and all the others which are good and bad.
I really like Doug's and Adams', any Ive missed?
-
No suppose about it Doug is not at all happy with the power and in not so many words said so at Hawkstone. He is comparing it to a 270 titanium tuned 2 stroke though. However I am at a loss to say as to whether he would move for less money. How bad does he want the title back? He is going to be second or first next year if HRC come up with a few hop ups for the 4RT, with Fuji nearby and wanting to keep the Chapionship I guess they will.
-
I think it is an amazing price considering, but if it is a TLR then not so.
However, having seen one I would love to have one in the shed, but not in competition,my preference is a 2 stroke that I know oh so well. But thats personal.
-
Yellow forks it will be wheels next!
-
I am not bothered either way stop or no-stop but there has been some atrocious marking where stationary leg waving gets no penalty! More than that is that some sections stop was allowed and others not, which I think is more of a problem.
-
It is also the classic situation of when a player or rider ups his worth by "talking" to the opposition.
Expect to see Raga on a gas gas next year.
-
Absolutely Alan I was thinking the pinch bolt was the opposte way like the old Sherpa, wrong!
Stud is best though I would get the rule out and try to drilltap a little deeper, then chemi fix using a washer not a nyloc.
-
Nut and bolt all the way through?
M7?

More than what I or you think is what people who do the series thinkas a whole. The coming rounds are a double header in devon is it not too much of an intellectual leap to give a questionaire out on the sat sign on and then collect sunday? At least the riders could have a say without the trek to Rugby if thats putting them off.
-
It is my opinion that it needs a bit of a shake up, and there is too many rounds and too much overlap with the sammy miller series, and I am convinced the over 40 thing is not sitting that well here, and to clump them all with the sidecars is a joke. Thah sort of thing. Perhaps we could start a thread and air a few views then forward it to the ACU, or better still why don't they make the meeting "on Line"?
-
Starving the fuel won't it pink or worse hole pistons at 13000 rpm???
-
I did hear about this some weeks ago and am also riding in a Trial that day, coincidentally an ACU CHAMPIONSHIP event. When I mentioned this to the ACU officer concerned I was told that because of lots of commitments that it was difficult to find a satisfactory date. As it was some of the acu t & e committee would have to leave early as there is practice for the British champs the following day.
May I respectfully suggest rememberence Sunday not many trials that day is there.
I spent a while setting out several points on what I thought about the ACU classic series, so that the points could be raised in abscence of all riders at the 8th round event, but realise now it was a waste of time.
ACU basher I am not, but this just ain't good enough in my book.
-
Marky has been suggesting that there are reliability issues with the Sherco to which I take exception.
-
that is a strange photo as the mont exhaust is on the wrong side.
-
The youth 250's is poorly supported as the rules change next year ie no 250 youth class. ACU should have followed imho.
Hardest course for them.
Sanz and the others do the youth 125 course (Alexz beat her). That will change next year.
Then there is the Ladies international class which I think is to encourage other ladies to fill up the events. Very straight forward sections from what I saw.
Interestingly Steve Colley was minding for Kayleigh, why he wasn't asked by the factory to help Alexz is beyond me, maybe Gas Gas are more partisan than any of us realise?
-
The easy class is hardly a test as all those in there could ride the other if they wanted.
-
I am not a mont fan (does it show?) but the bike looks very well put together, completly finished and seems to run ok. The guy on the stand said in english it is a production model on display, and it matched the other one there exactly, so no one off parts. That exhaust cover was what the punters will get I'm sure, looks as wide as the 315. Didn't see Sanz ride it except down the track and it was louder and not like a tlr noise much more barkier. The brochure has it producing more power less torque than the 315.
