Right, so what you are saying is rather than fettling the bike in the back of a van on a long drive back to fort william the bike could be "adjusted" by someone say following the bike, cool.
-
1 add 1 does indeed make 2.
However a frame problem is most unlikely.
-
Very unlikely, the frames will be batch made and they had the complete bike at the euro round in septmber when I took the photos there have been 3 bikes in the uk since before the scott and the one I had a go on in Spain a week ago makes 10 with the ones they must have so frame problem, very unlikely.

Trevor (I think) someone who was a john Banks supported riders had one in the eastern centre and used to ride it in the south midlsnd centre a fair bit, can't remember his second name, sorry. Rode it real well and did ok but always struggled on the stuff the 325 bultos and others seemed to power up, lots of deep mud round here, but it always looked such a neat thing, guess it was the time when chromed frames were regarded as the dogs, rather than the paint. The tank and seat was neat also, all in all a neat package which took the basic tl and made it 200cc before the tlr versions I think(?). 200cc would never be a match for a 325 bult in those days though it looked the biz it certainly didn't ride that nice. The steering I think was a bit sharpe and the frame had alot of ground clearence which I guess put the weight up high, and I think it was about the time people were modifying the swinging arm positions and this was fairly traditional, if the memory is right.
A decent rider pal of mine who could ride almost anything tried one for a few events and just couldn't get anywhere with it in the results. I recall a riding session on it and although it had its plus points it was a little different in every area, suspension motor steering riding position etc, which made it feel very awkward with no significant plus points. Remember this was a time when 2 stroke was 99.9% and this had engine braking galore.
I am pretty sure not to many were built, they didn't sell that many.

If it is the needle rollers, quite possible, you can change the lot for less than
-
I can feel it in my bones, next week it is then.
-
The filter is in the tank.
-
Well it was my birthday a few days before!
-
To be honest I was so excited to be siting and riding one I didn't think about how the photo would turn out, just I wish I had got Mrs.Dabster to sit on it instead...........
reminds me of the Steve Martin film where he has the big nose but has more jokes about it than anyone else........
Sorry munch must get back on topic, bike next week according to Appleyards?

-
The bikes are not in the country.
-
Seems like that Sherco was not well maintained at all was it M G?
-
Lots of possibilities, easy stuff penetratig oil make sure allen bolts m6 are removed and pinch wedged open, heat very carefully, get someone who is a good mechanic to have a look, and if all else fails take forks apart hold spindle in vice and unwind fork leg? Lastly drill out, but very lastly....... difficult to pin point whats the best without being there.
Bit of horse bolted maintenence, lube the thread next time and take out every few rides.
Good luck.
-
Got to try this 4rt in spain, is it yours Marky?
-
Well had a very short go around the yard in a shop in spain, couldn't really tell much, but where is marky boy when you want him!
-
Hope to think its on the 17th but not sure if the 4rt is going to be there or not?
-
Went to the factory on Friday plenty going on but no 4t yet they said.
-
Don't hold your breath I spoke to Mrs.Shield and she said they were told the same thing a year ago.........
It is a shame as there is a great trial in there and its won't be difficult to find.
-
Man that motor and sump is not that pretty.
-
Does it have removable liner? Surely an essential in sweaty Aus?
-
If you get fed up of not having a bike ( may be an understatement looking at your tetchy replies!) I have an old bultaco in the shed you can borrow till Christmas, any help?
-
I doubt that you can order from afar as the sizing and more importantly fit varies greatly. The shoei is worth every penny as it is stainless and has removable liner aswell.
